Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

Special, as per usual.
The chicken is amazing!!
Our food was incredible, especially the lamb shoulder, and our server, Letty, was very attentive and sweet.
We had a quiet table on the patio. Our server was great - fun, attentive but not intrusive. The food was amazing! Would definitely go again and highly recommend.
The consistency of this restaurant always amazes me. The food is fresh, tasty and well prepared, the hosting and service are efficient and friendly. Sitting on the patio was an added plus.
The only caveat here is some of the seating inside can be uncomfortable for seniors.
It is so wonderful to go to Homer Street cafe and Bar and have a great time, every time!
Last night was excellent!
The salad of the day and the scallop risotto .....yummy
Thanks so, so many staff members for the great service ( David, Rob, Roz, and Jodie!!)
Very accommodating when I had to call and bump my reservation 1/2 hour. Lovely patio table was provided. We had a few starter/noshy plates, which were delicious (LOVED the croquettes). I was expecting a more "basic" experience which a "Cafe & Bar" implies, but the high quality of the experience in every way made it a much more fine dining experience.
Amazing customer service from the hostess to the server! Food was absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend the harissa pulled chicken eggs Benedict!
Another fantastic meal. This time, brunch. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Service was impeccable.
We always have a good time at Homer Street Cafe. But perhaps because of the long weekend, it felt like they were short-staffed and service was lacking. The food took longer than usual and while the server offered complimentary bread to tie us over until the food arrived, it never materialized. The food was great as usual when we got it but it took another 15 minutes to get the bill after we asked for it.
Very well prepared roasted chicken and potatoes. Had tricolour beans, fries and a simple salad which were all delicious. Would go back there for sure.
Wonderful patio experience with delicious food and attentive service.
Lovely roast chicken and chips. Husband’s steak was very succulent. Have booked it again for our last night.
Excellent choice for a colleague's going-away dinner!
First time at this restaurant. Fantastic experience. Everyone really cares about getting it right. We loved the tasting menu. Best value in town.
I guess just overall I was underwhelmed. Or maybe my expectations were too high based on the website. It wasn't "bad" per say, I felt the service was subpar but admittedly it was peak time on Friday evening so?? The table we were seated at was very close to the next table, kind of felt they were part of our conversation. The table was also at the edge of a row but just felt like I was sitting in their walkway. These days restaurants are using expediting servers so it was kind of confusing as to who was our actual server. Each interaction was with someone new. Eventually, I figured it out.
Great food and great staff
Homer Street Cafe is always a home run. Fresh and flavorful food paired with wonderful service and infectious energy.
Show out to JS.
Always great to see him!
The kitchen is doing an excellent job time and time and time again!!
What a pleasure to dine at Homer Street Cafe!
We had an amazing dinner at Homer’s. Our dinner happened to coincide with the Late Happy Hour. We were fortunate to sample some of the great options on the list. The Pork Belly was amazing ... crispy, succulent, and maple-sweet. Our mains were the flat iron steaks on an amazing savory sautéed kale and the side of roasted broccolini was amazing (my green vegetable wary Hunny was totally smitten by these dishes). Great cocktails started the evening, the wine was perfectly matched and the closing lemon curd dessert was a perfect shared finale for the meal. We were visiting Vancouver and were very fortunate to find this little beauty!
It is my go to place just outside Yaletown. The roasted chicken is the best in North America
Everything was delicious. Service was great. The noise was beyond “energetic”. On a quieter night, this place would be great.
We had a post half marathon meal here and it was wonderful. The service was great, the food was so delicious and the atmosphere fun. We were able to have a great conversation and celebrate.
Interesting twist on classics. Pulled chicken eggs benedict, cobb salad and bacon and rotisserie chicken cobbler were tasty examples of originality.
The service we had was excellent (Dane). The food was very tasty, although the lamb was a little over done. The peanut butter cookies with Nutella dip were delicious.
Superb service, food and cocktails
Will go back often
Our server was fantastic. The food was incredible. One of my favourite brunch spots in the city.
Portions have shrunk considerably. Their famous chicken cobbler is maybe half the size of what it used to be. Tastes good, but not good value for your brunch money.
Offered a table on the patio which we took.wine selection was good.enjoyed the halibut.
The decor was fantastic and so was the music. The tables in the section where we sat were too close together barely a foot in between tables, so it was not a great place fir an intimate date night or even a conversation that wouldn’t involve the people at the next table. The cocktail special “Hysteria” was fantastic, but the food was totally forgettable.
Greeted at door. Gave options on our reso for seating. Choose the patio. Servicer was smartly entertaining. Can’t wait to go back!
Service was good but could have been a bit more engaging. Had to ask for drinks when they were empty.
Classic French Inspired dishes, not too pricey!
The ambiance on the patio is so nice in the summer!
Great happy hour ! And catered to a celiac guest thank you!
Visiting from La Quinta, CA. Nice casual place-sat outside on patio. 8:45 PM seating. Traveling all day. Our server, Emma, lovely, efficient and helpful with the menu. Chicken dishes fantastic. Rose wine great. Danielle, a manager, very pleasant and nice to talk to.
Love the Homer Street cafe. It's great for brunch/lunch/dinner. Enjoyed a lovely dinner on a warm evening - delicious food as always, beautifully plated - tuna crudo, scallops with mussel escabeche... Good list of BC wines. Best of all, excellent service from our delightful server! A restaurant can have the best food and beverage offerings but if the service sucks it ruins the experience. We always get the best service here!! Highly recommended!
First dining experience here. Came at 2pm on Sunday with a reservation. Server tells us rotisserie chicken is sold out 30 minutes ago. We came here specifically for the chicken. Waiter profusely apologized and tells us it will be available at 5pm. Well that doesn’t help us much. We had no choice but to order something else. We ordered the lemon fritter. It was good and very filling. We also order the pork belly, sausage and egg. The pork was very small and the sausage was not to our liking. Not a good choice selection. The bus girl fills our glass of water but only half full. We had to tell her to fill it up all the way. That was rather strange. Unfortunately, we won’t be going back even to try the chicken. Cool ambience and well dressed staff but that’s about it. Disappointing.
Great ambiance. Food was delicious. Chicken portion was very small for the price. Menus provided were dirty and stained; they should print up new ones.
Patio was a nice escape for a lunch in downtown. Thx again.
Great quality food. Our party tried the scallops w/carrot risotto and trout w/white beans. both dishes were perfectly cooked, with the seafood being very moist. Great flavours and sauces. Cute patio area but was a bit noisy with construction across the street. Suggest indoor seating if you have business meeting.
This was my husband's favourite restaurant when we lived in Vancouver, and deservedly so.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, you will love your dining experience!
