Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

We are new to Vancouver.... and it was all so great! Our waitress Julie was helpful and fun . The food was delicious!
Just the best Drinks in town!
I got the feature roast and it was dry and expensive, not sure it's worth the high price tag. Would recommend for happy hour, the location is nice and the venue is quite pretty.
As usual great food, piping hot, nice server, excellent choice for post theater late night supper.
This is high-end comfort food. Everything was delicious! The atmosphere felt unpretentious and our waiter was flawless. No fault of the restaurant, but 2 individual ladies were talking so loudly to their respective company, it pierced our ears - please folks, be mindful and respectful of other diners by keeping your conversation at a private level that respects others’ desires for private conversations and a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy their dining experience in.
Food and service were excellent which makes up for the awful ambiance, noise and poor seating options, (glorified picnic tables).
Friendly and helpful staff. Food was quick and delicious!!
A really enjoyable meal, started with butternut squash soup followed by mushroom rigatoni for me and steelhead trout for my husband. Services was quick and friendly, meals were well prepared and tasty. Lively ambience for a cold Sunday evening. Would recommend.
Get the pork belly. Thank me later.
Excellent food and service! Great vintage decor. We regularly go to this restaurant and have never been disappointed.
I always enjoy the ambience, food and service at the Homer Street Cafe. It is one of my go to favourites in downtown Vancouver!
Nice looking restaurant, wooden long tables and bench style seating for us. Menu is assorted, something for everyone.
Chopped salads not very green, beets over cooked that were the main vegetable on one of the salads,
The server was not attentive, missed our request for no jambon on our salad and it came with pork,
Forgot our beer order, forgot our frenchfries, not delivered with my meal but half way through.
It was not great service, food was good but there is a lot of choice in Vancouver for great food and great service, would not go back.
Dinner before a show.
Introduced the restaurant to some friends, all delighted!
Our party of six was seated at a bench table which turned out to be uncomfortable for some people in our party. When we asked to change to a regular table with chairs, the hosts refused with the excuse of being fully booked, which was not convincing since we had one of the earliest reservations -made more than a week in advance- for 11:30am. We remained at the bench table. Our server was great. Some of the food arrived quite late. The temperature was on the cold side when we first arrived at the empty restaurant. As it got busy, the temperature increased by merely the presence of a crowd but it is not properly regulated by the restaurant. We really like this restaurant and the food. The hosting and the temperature regulation could be improved.
Always a great experience. Seasonal menu never disappoints.
Lovely service with Ben and the food was delicious!
Always great chicken, and pork belly to start
I always enjoy my time at the Homer Street Café. The staff is always so pleasant, personable and helpful. I look forward to my next visit to your café.
I’ve been to the Homer Street Cafe several times. For lunches with my grownup son who works downtown and for dinners with a friend. The food is tasty and the staff are marvellous. It is just a wee bit crowded but I hope to get used to that. The roasts are all good and my friend on his Keto diet was really pleased. I love their pastas and seafood.
Good food. $9 each for a wee plate of fries and of Brussels sprouts was a bit rich. Great layout and decor.
Birthday dinner, great vibe
Great spot for dinner! They even through in free champagne
Had a delicious brunch on family day. Highly recommend.
Great as always! Had a wonderful brunch, with great service and great food. Straight up Tony the Tiger.
The ambiance at Homer Street Cafe & Bar is spectacular. The food is wonderfully prepared - classic comfort food with a upscale spin. The service is well paced, helpful and always warm!
We went to to the Homer Street Cafe for my husband’s birthday. The food and service was outstanding! Would definitely go back!
This was our first visit to Homer Street Cafe and on this occasion it was for my wife's birthday. The restaurant has a busy, lively atmosphere creating a great buzz. Recommend booking in advance as there were people queuing at the door (Friday night). Service was friendly and efficient and the food lived up to its billing. Definitely recommend.
I was really disappointed in the food tonight. I’ve eaten here many times and this was below their norm. It was the day after valentine’s So it was busy . The appy bison Brie was delicious but 1/2 a wheel would have been plenty for an appy. The steak was not great at all and the veg below not good. My friend had the Scallops and said the dish wasn’t great but the scallops were good. Our server Lauren was lovely.
Not sure if the chef or ownership has changed but we have been coming here of many many years but the last few times the food has dramatically gone downhill especially considering we are ordering the same dishes. Food quality and even plating has gone way downhill, our last meal was pretty gross, its such a shame cuz this restaurant was quite good before.
Vincent is one outstanding employee! Homer St is lucky to have him.
I really loved everything. However, The salad , I have got for appetizer, was a bit bitter and the purple turnip soup had almost no taste. Main dishes were awesome. I loved the Mushroom Tagliatelle. However, the pork belly was little too greasy and hard. Also, It took to long time for us to get our main dish. We absolutely loved the chocolate mousse and the maple syrup pork belly!
Thank you for always providing us with an amazing experience! The food is simply amazing and the staff really are the best. Our Friday date night felt like we were on an episode of Chefs Table! We will be back of course!
Some aspects of our meal blew us away. The pork belly appetizer was simply amazing. So too was the chicken burger. But the pasta dish my wife has was soupy - not saucy, but soupy. Like there was water left over from cooking that ended up in the bowl. It kinda ruined the experience for us. Our waitress was amazing. Someone else did offer to replace the pasta, but my wife had lost interest.
Fantastic service, great food and creative yet classic setting. Will absolutely be back!
Had a great meal @ Homer St. Cafe. Only negative was the turnip soup on the dine out menu. It wasn't very warm and lacked flavour. The waiter dealt with the problem immediately and brought us a delicious pate dish instead. Thanks for a wonderful dinner. Christine & Jim
Great service and delicious food, can’t ask for more.
always have the best Time at Homer street cafe.
Ambiance food service and the greatest cocktail make it an all over great place...
Known for their rotisserie chicken which is very good.
Very tasty food and friendly service.
