About Homer Street Cafe & Bar
LOCALLY MINDED. RESPONSIBLY RAISED
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

Homer Street Cafe & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Our New Year’s Eve experience could not have been better at Homer St Cafe and Bar. Our server was gracious and gave us excellent recommendations. The cocktails were on point and the food was delicious. The rotisserie lamb was the BEST I’ve ever tasted. My husband loved his rotisserie chicken. This is a great spot we’ll return to!
Roast chicken was fabulous!! The write ups have not been wrong. And the other items for our group (scallops, pork loin) were equally impressive. Do try the cauliflower side. It comes close to supplanting Vij's as my favourite way.
Good cocktail list. Reasonably priced wines. All in all quite successful. We'll be back.
There were four of us. We ordered 2 snacks, 1 appetizer and 3 mains to share and a dessert. This worked well and was more than enough food. The food was very good. Particularly the pork belly and the beef cheeks. Service was a bit spotty. Waitress told us three times she would bring bread before she actually brought some and disappeared to dry dishes towards the end of the meal when we were trying to get her attention. You can actually see a washing serving station from a number of the tables; not the greatest. The restaurant is also very noisy so not for a quiet, romantic evening. Having said that the food was so good I would go back again.
The Homer Street Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants. The chicken is superb. Any of the entrees are excellent. My wife and I always look forward to our dining experience at this cozy , friendly spot. We love the food. We enjoy the ambience. I always thoroughly enjoy the dark beer with my dinner when we come here and my wife enjoys a glass of dry red or dry white wine with her dinner.
The food was well prepared and the menu thoughtful, good ingredients. The kitchen knows its skills and produce. Excellent value for money and and really cool space to hang out.
Now the problem: service was ok, but inconsistent. First course came instantly, actually before the drinks, then we waited, waited and waited, for the second. The server offered no explanation, apology, or an offer to see what the delay was. But were asked if we wanted more drinks! So, the front needs to match the good work of the kitchen in consistency and quality.
Really cool ambiance and vibe. Attentive and fast service, despite of being packed on Saturday night. Delicious, juicy, done-just-right chicken, possibly the best I've had locally (and I tend to only buy from organic free-range local farms). The noise level was high, which would not make it the best spot for a first date (unless you don't mind yelling at each other from across the table). All in all, a definite thumbs up! Will be back again to try more things off their rotisserie menu.
Homer St Cafe is absolutely amazing; the service is top notch, the food is timely and delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. They play the greatest music and I've always had a great experience. The manager checked in on us to make sure everything was perfect and the attention to detail is unequaled. The perfect spot for a date night, a catch-up drink or a casual dinner to catch up with friends. Highly recommend, will definitely be going back!
My husband and I ate at Homer Street Cafe before going to a show. The atmosphere was fantastic: we loved the vibe and the interior. A very beautiful building! Our server was very attentive and ensured we always had everything we needed and that we were happy with our meals.
The food was perfect and decent sized portions! We ordered more than was necessary.
Our Caesar cocktails were delicious! Not made with Clamato juice.
