HOME Restaurant is the original farm-to-table eatery, established in New York City in 1993. Before the current trend for serving fresh, locally-sourced, seasonal food took hold, HOME Restaurant was dedicated to showcasing local fare. The modern and comfortable dining area is the perfect place to try the American fare that is served for brunch, lunch or dinner. Try the seasonal brunch menu that includes brioche French toast, braised oxtail or the HOME hamburger. Dinner might start with heirloom tomatoes, followed by a duck breast or seasonal vegetable risotto. Don�t leave without trying the flourless chocolate cake, the homemade sorbet or a cup of Kentucky coffee made with bourbon and topped with whipped cream.

The list "what you would recommend this restaurant for" was painful to fill out because the restaurant is closing after 23 years. A quiet, unique neighborhood place with amazing food...sad.

Sadly, they told us that Home is closing. It was always great to go here, such a cozy place with a lovely back patio, delicious food, and wonderful service.

The perfect combination of great location (right around the corner from IFC) on a quiet street, brilliant food, and a great funky Village setting. Maybe 15 tables inside,plus a patio. Service staff is low-key (none of this "I am Steven and I am your best friend and the chicken lived in a mansion) -- they say Hi, take your order, pay attention to drink refills. They let the food be the star. And it IS!! First time we went -- now high on your list for Village "finds."

It was lovely.we ate in the garden and it was really nice and pretty quiet even though the garden had a good number of people in it. Food was delicious I had the cod which was great and I shared the burrata appetizer which was really good as well. I got to taste the pork and it was really tender and tasty. I may have to try it next visit.Staff was very attentive. Definite place to return to.

This restaurant was very quaint and adorable. Went for dinner when my Mother was in town. Waitstaff was extremely attentive. Menu was small, but it was absolutely wonderful and had a great selection.

Met a friend for dinner in the patio, which is absolutely lovely. The food was fresh, farm-to-table, well prepared, the cocktail was made to my wishes, and the waiter was very friendly without being intrusive. The price was right too. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to have a quiet / romantic dinner.

It's been 13 years since we have been to this old neighborhood favorite and it is still exactly as perfect as we remember it. All about the ambiance and the quality food. Butterscotch pudding still on the menu and still did not disappoint. Incredible with an addition of the best cherry sorbet special I have tasted.

Every thing from start to finish was fantastic. Love the farm to table freshness of everything. Excellent drinks and service and the food was phenomenal. We had appetizers and dinner and every bite was perfect. Highly recommend Home restaurant. We will be back.

We all had the Berkshire Pork entree and loved it. Make sure to try one of the puddings. There were very few people in the restaurant the night we were there. So it was very quiet which made it even better.

Got girlfriend's order -- which was to have entree without meat, since she's pescetarian -- wrong twice, despite telling server that she couldn't have meat in her food. Highly disappointing, although they, rightfully, excluded her order from the bill at the end.

We had a very nice dinner at "Home". It has a very relaxing feel out in the garden. The drinks we had were delicious-the Lightsome Lindsay and the Fig Manhattan. The service was good and the risotto was delicious. We will go back again!

A great find on Cornelia Street within walking distance to Minetta Lane theatre. Delicious food, nicely served and a congenial staff make Home a good place to be.

Great dining experience at home rest. When your sitting in the back garden eating their locally sourced food and wine..you will forget your in the city..there are no horns..no city hustle and bustle..just deliciousness...oh..and chocolate pudding for dessert. Cause if you have never been to Home. You have never had such good chocolate pudding

shared a salad, very good. My pork chop was OK, nothing special. Cabernet franc from Long Island was tasteless. All the wine is from NY state, as is most of the food. Nice garden but food is nothing special, though it is called the first farm to table restaurant in the city, from 1992.

We live nearby so have been several times; have always enjoyed a very nice meal with nice seasonal ingredients. The garden is quite pleasant (thought when it is hot and humid in NY in the evening, the garden is hot and humid!). Service is nice, menu is interesting, has local fresh things, is a really good place in the Village.

The food incredibly fresh and thoughtful. I loved the cod recipe (chef's mothers apparently!!). The staff are great and even worked in some great music for just the right vibe. A great neighborhood spot.

I have a couple of food allergies, and the chef came out to ensure that they got everything right for me. Our server was the perfect combination of attentiveness, friendliness, and unobtrusiveness. The food is delicious. A great place for a relaxing meal.

This was our third visit to Home, and as before, the food was delicious, and we also love the intimate surroundings. This is also a great way to become acquainted with NY state wines, as we did on this visit. Highly recommended.

Have bee here many times for brunch and the ricotta pancakes are delish and so is their brisket- all is tasty and hearty. But, the service needs to improve-/ waited for silverware for quite a while AFTER our entrees were served: waited for a long time for drinks and coffee-- we were in no hurry, but too much time between asking and getting .

We ordered several appetizers and two main courses and every single dish was a complete delight - extremely flavorful and well prepared. The wine was extraordinary, perfectly paired to the food and they give you a generous glassful. The music was pleasant and unobtrusive so we could HAVE A CONVERSATION, something that's nearly impossible in most restaurant. So all around the experience was totally pleasant. With so many good restaurants in NY, this one stands out as one where you can reliably have a wonderful culinary and social experience. I come back here whenever I can.

Great brunch!!!! Food was wonderful. We had the French toast and ricotta pancakes with a couple of cappuccinos. The bread they give you at the start of the meal was delicious! Service was a little slow, but since we were not in a hurry it didn't bother us too much. I would definitely return to this restaurant again.

We had a pleasure of lunching at Home on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. We were able to converse at a normal tone and truly enjoyed the well-prepared and very fresh local ingredients. The flavors were excellent as was the entire experience. The wild rice risotto was exceptional.

Family lunch. Cozy l'l place in the village. Very small with tight seating, but somehow they get away with it. The food was really good but found the noise level too much.

We quite enjoyed our evening at Home Restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was pleasant and professional and the low key ambience is cozy and comfortable. Their NY State centered wine list is both affordable and varied, with plenty of by the glass or full bottle offerings. We really had a great time in this Cornelia Street standout. In warmer weather, there is a garden in back that is nice for outdoor dining.

I have eaten here many times in the past and always enjoyed the meal. Friday night's meal, however, was disappointing. The clam chowder was thin and unflavorful. I had a squash salad that would have been better served warm and which was rather bland. My friend had a pear salad that only had three slices of pear. Our waitress seemed in a rush to be rid of us. Because I have enjoyed Home in the past, I will try it again but cannot recommend the restaurant based on Friday night's experience.

Very quaint little place, great food. Apparently they are known for their Mac and cheese which we unfortunately did not order- the table next to us did and it looked/smelled amazing! Overall good experience
