Service was slow and our entrees came out one at a time, about five minutes apart per person. There were four of us so the first person was done by the time the last got their food. The food was a wonderful experience though, great for foodies. Try the bone marrow! The cocktails are small but strong.
really great, everything we had (and we did eat almost the entire menu) was delicious. I will come back next time I am in town.
Great food! Our first time and we really enjoyed our dinner
Always enjoy the staff and the food ... and ok the cocktails, best Martini
An excellent place for wonderful food and professional service. Get the Burger, you will not be disappointed!
Loved it. Amazing selection of the best foods out there.
We heard great things about this restaurant and particularly about Chef Nick. We were so pleased to meet Chef Nick and have him share with us details about the food, it’s origin and preparation. Our meal was a delicious foodie experience and a highlight of our Atlanta trip.
Got there early for dinner at 6. They were out of burgers. Told they only make 24 a day.
Burgers are AWESOME. Wish they hadn't renovated because I loved the industrial feel as before.
Very good food .
I came here on a whim this weekend and had a great time and enjoyed the food. The dishes are tapas style, smaller than a meal and meant for sharing.
-Chicken skins: drenched in their homemade hot sauce (tobasco-esque), very crispy and tangy. This dish came with a LOT of skins, so I would recommend getting it for 3+ people unless you really love hot sauce (the skins had a lot of sauce on them, so halfway through it was a little much)
-Sapelo Clams, bacon, and bourbon: probably my favorite dish of the night. It came with around 12 clams served in a delicious creamy soup topped with bacon and fresh jalapenos. Also served with two large pieces of bread to dip in the soup
-Glazed pork belly: pork belly was tender, polenta was was amazing, and the sauce on top (i think it was balsamic based) tied it all together; highly recommend
-Bone marrow: this was my first time having bone marrow and it was awesome! Salty, creamy and flavorful.. this dish makes me want to try bone marrow at other places now
We also ordered a few cheese and meats to create our own charcuterie board - they're all served with bread, apple butter, red pepper jam, apricot jam (i think?), and mustard.
I'll definitely be coming back! Food is a little heavy, so expect to be sleepy afterwards :)
The burger is one of the best in the city. The service was great. Only complaint, is being seated at corner seat near bathroom. Otherwise, ambience, service and food was very good.
best cheese burger the 5 of us have ever had. Other dishes were equally as good
We brought a couple who had not been before. They and we loved it & we will all return soon!
Had on our list to try for a while. Was better than even expected. Enjoyed every dish we tried and my wife had their famous burger and it lived up to the expectations. while definitely be back when we get back to Atlanta. Thanks for a great meal before we headed to the Fox Theatre.
Very disappointed. Took a date from out of town there to experience local cuisine. I even requested the H&F burgers and a romantic table making the appointment. We got a tiny table in the corner. By 7, they were already out of the burgers as well as raw oysters. We asked the waitress for recommendations and all she could do was tell us about all the awards the chef has won. We ended up leaving after sharing a salad and had a great time eating at the bar at Houston’s up the street. They need to let go of their clickiness and focus on customers.
Hadn’t been in a while and loved the re-decoration of both, from and back areas. But what we loved most is the creative approach to crafting those dishes. Creative tapas meets local flavors AND the possibility to dine late in Atlanta is unique
My wife and I had dinner with my parents on a Sunday evening while visiting from out of town. This was a favorite of ours from our time living in Atlanta several years ago, but while the food and cocktails were mostly up to the level I remember from the past, the service has definitely taken a step back. Beginning with our server, who seemed unhappy at best to be working that evening, and continuing through the rest of the experience.
In particular, I was frustrated with the fact that I ordered for a table of 4, 9 dishes that I assumed would be paced appropriately to be enjoyed as a relaxing meal (this is standard practice in a fine-dining/small plates restaurant). Instead, all of the dishes arrived at our table within the span of 5 minutes. I couldn't take a bite of most before half were cold. Even more shockingly, no one on the staff, from the host to the server to the kitchen staff seemed to think there was the slightest problem with this. When you can't find an open spot to place a dish on a 4-top, it's probably a good sign that you shouldn't have brought the dish out in the first place. The food was good (but certainly not outstanding), but the service left a sour taste in my mouth. Dining in Atlanta has in general taken a huge leap forward in the 4 years I've been gone, so unfortunately, I'll be forced to enjoy my H&F burgers at the ballpark and will likely not return to the restaurant.
Purchased fish and chips for 15.00 and receive 3 wedge potatoes and 1 and half catfish strips.
I was hungry when I left and felt like I wasted 15.00
Came for THE BURGER and it was everything I’ve heard!
Burger and Red Shrimp Toast were fantastic. Service and drinks were great too!
Great food, cocktails, and service!
Seated 20 minutes after reservation and no comp offered. My and my date’s entrees were served 15 minutes apart.
Very relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, great food. Wish I could have tried everything on the menu - it all looked delicious and interesting. Highly recommend!
My experience at Holeman and Finch was everything, it also was more than I expected. They had great food, the atmosphere was cozy and people friendly. I can not wait to go back again. I have suggested it as a eatery of choice to family friends.
This has been on my must try list for the next time i was in Atlanta. The burger was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. By doing a double cheeseburger it’s big and still juicy. Pickles were great. Worth the 40 minute Uber from downtown.
It's always a good meal with great cocktails. The appies were tasty and our entrées were plentiful. The dessert was good as well though our Coke Float glass had a big chip and crack on lip of the Coke glass. All in all it was really good.
We were unimpressed with the small plate, main meal and lack of desert choices. Chicken was tasteless.
First the valet made us park our own car because it was a stick shift and he couldn't drive it. The host apologized and said he'd talk to the valet company so I really can't blame the restaurant but still... I specified in my reservation that it was one of our guests birthday but not a single person even said happy birthday when we sat down or for the whole dinner. Also two of the several plates we got were excessively salty. I'm a line cook myself and I like salty food but those dishes were way too salty. Other than that the other food was good and the cocktails were also good. Overall not and incredible experience for the stellar reviews I've seen but it wasn't bad either. I probably won't return on my own accord but if a friend wants to come I'll try it again.
per usual, amazing food and service.
I had a drink at the bar while waiting on a friend. The bartender was outstanding and it was obvious that he took pride in his work. After being seated, I ordered the fish and chips and was deeply disappointed. Bland and soggy fish was a downer. My friend ordered chicken and it was raw and bloody at the bone! That is a no go! I was excited to try Holeman and Finch Public House; but, I left still hungry and feeling robbed of a meal I was looking forward to.
Very dissapointing experience. No pimento cheese appetizer, no burgers, no Fish and Chips...The first 3 items we ordered were 86'd. We get (but do not agree with )the whole 24 burgers a night policy...but there was no apology made for not being able to deliver what we ordered. It literally took 8 minutes to be greeted at the bar...and even then, it was by the bartender who was getting off duty...and we had to grab his attention. The Deviled Eggs we shared were just OK. The one spiked with ham was our favorite. The braised Pork Belly with Broccoli and Grits was excellent, though the portion on the small side. An offer was never made to refill our drinks and we just never got the feeling like our business was appreciated. Too bad as we were really looking forward to a great dining experience.
Went there specifically for brunch, but their brunch menu lacked game. Disappointing...
I went to Holeman & Finch for my birthday because I’d heard that they served an incredible burger. The burgers were sold out which wasn’t a big deal because I understand the 24 at a time thing they have going on. My waitress checked on every table except mine. She returned only when I asked another server for my check. The service was completely unsatisfactory.
had light dinner before concert the reviews lived up to expectation. Excellent place!!
Great $1 oysters from Virginia! And as always Holman & Finch Burger with fries are best ever!
Amazing food and amazing time! Best cooking I have ever had in Atlanta! A++++++
Energetic, friendly and cozy!
Big fan of Holeman and Finch and Chef Spencer Gomez's food. The menu is set up for ordering several things and sharing. It's like tapas, but southern. Must-tries include the shrimp toast with creole crema, the sweetbreads which are currently served with a bordelaise sauce, and the addictive chicken nuggets. The bar is still turning out creative cocktails. I tried the Nutcracker with peanut-infused bourbon and it was great. Service, food, drinks; everything was great and we'll be back.
We had an excellent meal! Even our New York City guest who fancies himself a foodie was very impressed!
