I used to love coming to HandF. But now it’s a different vibe entirely. From service to food options. The tables are too close together. The menu was not what was posted on here. Nothing looked appetizing. We sat at the bar because our table was ON TOP of another party. Ordered drinks at the bar. It took them 15 MINUTES. We saw our drinks being made. Then they stopped making it. Added another 5 minutes. So we just ended up leaving and took our service elsewhere. Didn’t even drink or eat a thing. I’m so disappointed in what used to be an amazing place I looked forward to going to every week.
Our waitress guided us around the menu suggesting a wonderful gluten-free option (the Johnnie cakes) and recommending the burger. Both dishes lived up to billing and are different from what you can get at other gastropubs. We'll definitely be returning!
For so many people working, the service was slow and server wasn't very knowledgeable. We loved the sweetbreads, bratwurst, shrimp toast, chilled cucs, and OMG the pepperoni!
Normally I don't take the time to review restaurants but the Service was awful at this restaurant. I had to give my drink order twice and when I asked the waitress about the trout she told me it was terrible. Who says that about the food in their restaurant? I thought she was kidding at first. The management of this restaurant needs to do so more training. And then they brought all the "small plates" out at the same time rather than pace them, so we basically were done with our meal in 20 minutes even though we were out for a casual evening of fine dining. When we asked them to slow it down they said they weren't sure if they could by then. There were no serving spoons for any of the food. The food was mediocre. The fish in the fish and chips tasted like it had been pulled from the local sewage plant. I would not ever recommend this restaurant.
Service was lacking, waitress seemed to be having a bad day, not very friendly and disinterested food was ok, menu lacking variety
We went for the burgers but the pimento cheese dip, deviled eggs, cucumber salad and grilled broccoli all far exceeded our expectations
We went here for our Anniversary. Nice atmosphere and wonderful food. Service was great!
We did not enjoy our food or service today. We found our meal to be extremely greasy. I would not recommend the greasy H&F Burger, salty steak and burnt broccoli salad. The service was slow as well. We will not be returning.
The shrimp toast was absolutely amazing!!!!!! I will be back for another wonderful meal!
We drive in ATL traffic for an hour to eat here. It's SO good. Get a burger, you won't be disappointed. Reservations recommended.
This place exceeded my expectations... The HF burger is out of this world. The carbonara is one of the better tasting ones I’ve had... if you want a detectable dessert, try to the toffee pudding, you won’t be disappointed. I would definitely come here again, next time I’m in Atlanta.
Very good food. The pasta carbonara is absolutely outstanding as are the oysters and the mythical HF burger. The cocktails are of fine class and creativity.
H&F is one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants - it never disappoints. The fried buffalo chicken skins are ridiculously good.
Great service and food at this restaurant. Food, drinks, and cocktails were all too notch.
It was delicious. Clean and elegant without pretense. Excellent upscale American classics
Small restaurant and our table was not initially ready but once seated the experience was great.
Our server was ideal. Friendly, fast, knowledgeable and always attentive. Apps were delicious and we ate so many we’ll have to go back to get to the mains.
I was looking forward to enjoying the fish and chips. The batter was hot and crunchy, but the fish was long on batter and skimpy on fish. The chips were a few potatoe logs that tasted like frozen food put in a fryer.
My husband enjoyed the baked chicken. Nice portion size and the chicken was baked well. The pea and mushroom accompaniment was tasty.
The dining area is curved and narrow so didn't feel spacious, but the decor is nice.
The server was professional but did not accommodate my concern about my meal. That's probably my fault though since I didn't express my concern until the end since I was so hungry.
The menu choices seemed limited. A lot of items I had read about on reviews were seasonal. I think their big thing is their burger which does appear from pics and reviews to be yummy. But I don't eat beef. Guess this just isn't the place for me.
We first came to Holeman & Finch 8 years ago on a visit to Atlanta. We were just passing through this time but made an effort to go back and see if it was just as good. It was!!!! We LOVED it maybe even more. Great food- especially the charcuterie and cheeses. We’ll be back again, I hope, sooner!
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience! We shared plates so we could try as many menu items as possible. All of us enjoyed everything we tasted. We will certainly go back for more.
Very nice experience.
We were a business group of 5 with one diet conscious individual.
Staff was very accommodating to the individual and genuinely helpful navigating the menu.
The seating is a little bit tight in the entire restaurant.
We didn't consume any alcohol, but I am told this is a knowledgeable trait of the establishment.
We were able to have fun and eat really well prepared dishes.
Great menu for adventurous foodies.
I came here for my birthday dinner with some friends. I was searching for great cocktails in the Atlanta area. I’m so glad I gave this place a try, the Supernova was an amazing find!
Exceptionally friendly staff and service, creative drink menu, signature H&F Burger was amazing.
Service was slow and our entrees came out one at a time, about five minutes apart per person. There were four of us so the first person was done by the time the last got their food. The food was a wonderful experience though, great for foodies. Try the bone marrow! The cocktails are small but strong.
really great, everything we had (and we did eat almost the entire menu) was delicious. I will come back next time I am in town.
Great food! Our first time and we really enjoyed our dinner
Always enjoy the staff and the food ... and ok the cocktails, best Martini
An excellent place for wonderful food and professional service. Get the Burger, you will not be disappointed!
Loved it. Amazing selection of the best foods out there.
We heard great things about this restaurant and particularly about Chef Nick. We were so pleased to meet Chef Nick and have him share with us details about the food, it’s origin and preparation. Our meal was a delicious foodie experience and a highlight of our Atlanta trip.
Got there early for dinner at 6. They were out of burgers. Told they only make 24 a day.
Burgers are AWESOME. Wish they hadn't renovated because I loved the industrial feel as before.
Very good food .
I came here on a whim this weekend and had a great time and enjoyed the food. The dishes are tapas style, smaller than a meal and meant for sharing.
-Chicken skins: drenched in their homemade hot sauce (tobasco-esque), very crispy and tangy. This dish came with a LOT of skins, so I would recommend getting it for 3+ people unless you really love hot sauce (the skins had a lot of sauce on them, so halfway through it was a little much)
-Sapelo Clams, bacon, and bourbon: probably my favorite dish of the night. It came with around 12 clams served in a delicious creamy soup topped with bacon and fresh jalapenos. Also served with two large pieces of bread to dip in the soup
-Glazed pork belly: pork belly was tender, polenta was was amazing, and the sauce on top (i think it was balsamic based) tied it all together; highly recommend
-Bone marrow: this was my first time having bone marrow and it was awesome! Salty, creamy and flavorful.. this dish makes me want to try bone marrow at other places now
We also ordered a few cheese and meats to create our own charcuterie board - they're all served with bread, apple butter, red pepper jam, apricot jam (i think?), and mustard.
I'll definitely be coming back! Food is a little heavy, so expect to be sleepy afterwards :)
The burger is one of the best in the city. The service was great. Only complaint, is being seated at corner seat near bathroom. Otherwise, ambience, service and food was very good.
best cheese burger the 5 of us have ever had. Other dishes were equally as good
We brought a couple who had not been before. They and we loved it & we will all return soon!
Had on our list to try for a while. Was better than even expected. Enjoyed every dish we tried and my wife had their famous burger and it lived up to the expectations. while definitely be back when we get back to Atlanta. Thanks for a great meal before we headed to the Fox Theatre.
Very disappointed. Took a date from out of town there to experience local cuisine. I even requested the H&F burgers and a romantic table making the appointment. We got a tiny table in the corner. By 7, they were already out of the burgers as well as raw oysters. We asked the waitress for recommendations and all she could do was tell us about all the awards the chef has won. We ended up leaving after sharing a salad and had a great time eating at the bar at Houston’s up the street. They need to let go of their clickiness and focus on customers.
