Absolutely loved this restaurant and the view is wonderful! Good service and great food. Great for special occasions to have a deep fried whole snapper that looked amazing

Delicious creative food. Excellent service. Beautiful view of the ocean, Koko Head and palm trees. We had ahi three ways, goat cheese beet salad, oxtail tagliatelle pasta, and moi with Japanese mushrooms. Everything tasted great. The goat cheese salad really stood out with some amazing contrasts in flavor. Our server was very attentive, gracious and professional. The room was a tad chilly- glad we had long sleeves. The restaurant brought a complimentary dessert for my husband’s birthday. I ordered a scoop of honey caramel cream which came on a light waffle cookie with fresh berries- very light and enjoyable. My only complaint is the price of a decaf coffee - $14.00 which I find excessive. The rest of the meal was priced as expected but something about $14.00 for a coffee seems over the top. The same is true at the Plumeria House where iced teas are $7.00 and coffee $10.00. Overall Hoku’s is a win with excellent food. If we return we’ll just skip the coffee!

We were told by our waiter that they had just re-opened. The service and ambiance were excellent.

Overall the food was great. However, the following prevented a 5 star rating for the food:
1: There were no oysters
2: The king crab legs were over cooked and of poor quality
3: The bacon was also of poor quality in that it was beyond thin.

The restaurant just opened after a month long renovation. The menu has changed except for some all time favorites. The dessert table has a “carving” area which added a special touch to the whole dining experience. Seafood freshness and selection are still there. Too bad they took out the bana cauda. The service is superb as always.

Outstanding, friendly attentive, set a relaxing atmosphere was under control no stress or rushing to get food out, seafood linguine was very good but it didn’t wow me the write up and picture in dining out section

Wonderful meal with great service and atmosphere. We were celebrating a special occasion and it did not disappoint. My only regret is that we didn’t come earlier to enjoy the lovely music at The Veranda.

That's where I want to come and eat again.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.

Had heard that the quality of food had taken a step down but had a gift card that i needed to use. Pleasantly surprised to find that a new chef had started there. Chef Oto's dishes were fantastic. There were 4 in our party and everyone was impressed. If you haven't been there lately give it a try.

My expectations were low for dinner at Hokus, and we were pleasantly surprised. If you happen to get Bob as your waitperson, allow him to steer you in the right direction, he does a great job. We had their famous rice wrapped ahi balls, very good. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly. And the prawns were perfection. I would return!

We were at the Hoku Sunday brunch for a birthday/retirement. Everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Manager, Lynn was especially gracious and our waiter Rodel provided us with excellent service. Our guest of honor can't stop talking about the food she ate. She enjoyed herself so much she wants to invite her family of 20 to experience the Sunday Hoku brunch. CA

I don't know about the meat dishes, as we did not order any, but the seafood dishes were amazing! The use of local vegetables along with the meal were also delicious and cook to perfection! The service from the time we arrived till the time we left were "Spot On"! Everyone from the Valets to the Restaurant Staff were very attentive, polite, respectful, and most of all, they all seemed to want to make your time there a memorable one!

Quality food for buffet style dining.
Only concern that complimentary ahi musubi and soft shell crab arrived cold and very tough to eat.
All other items were delectable!

I wasn't feeling well and the hostess came to me to check if I was ok. She even brewed some tea for me. I had to leave my party to get to the emergency room and since I hardly ate, they didn't charge for my meal! I will definitely return when I am feeling better!

Haven’t been to Hoku’s in a long time. The ambiance wasn’t anything fancy or romantic, it was nice. The food is what made our visit Superb! Everything we had from Caesars salad, oxtail soup, scallop, adobo osso bucco and rib eye was phenomenal! Great service!

We went to Hoku's for an anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. We chose the Prix Fixe menu with matched wines and it did not disappoint - the food was great and the service matched the food. Highly recommended, but not a cheap night out!

We always enjoy Hoku's, but this one was a little rocky. We were 15 minutes early but were not seated until 15 minutes after our reservation time. We had to stand by another 5 minutes while the wait staff cleaned up the water they had spilled on the table (and into two ladies' purses) while setting up. This was important since the delays meant we were pushing the closing of buffet service. We felt rushed.
