Hoku's Ratings and Reviews
Great service, Tony our waiter was
Outstanding, friendly attentive, set a relaxing atmosphere was under control no stress or rushing to get food out, seafood linguine was very good but it didn’t wow me the write up and picture in dining out section
Made me expect more. The appetizers, fried poke Musubi and foie gras was outstanding
Had heard that the quality of food had taken a step down but had a gift card that i needed to use. Pleasantly surprised to find that a new chef had started there. Chef Oto's dishes were fantastic. There were 4 in our party and everyone was impressed. If you haven't been there lately give it a try.
My expectations were low for dinner at Hokus, and we were pleasantly surprised. If you happen to get Bob as your waitperson, allow him to steer you in the right direction, he does a great job. We had their famous rice wrapped ahi balls, very good. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly. And the prawns were perfection. I would return!
We were at the Hoku Sunday brunch for a birthday/retirement. Everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Manager, Lynn was especially gracious and our waiter Rodel provided us with excellent service. Our guest of honor can't stop talking about the food she ate. She enjoyed herself so much she wants to invite her family of 20 to experience the Sunday Hoku brunch. CA
I don't know about the meat dishes, as we did not order any, but the seafood dishes were amazing! The use of local vegetables along with the meal were also delicious and cook to perfection! The service from the time we arrived till the time we left were "Spot On"! Everyone from the Valets to the Restaurant Staff were very attentive, polite, respectful, and most of all, they all seemed to want to make your time there a memorable one!
I wasn't feeling well and the hostess came to me to check if I was ok. She even brewed some tea for me. I had to leave my party to get to the emergency room and since I hardly ate, they didn't charge for my meal! I will definitely return when I am feeling better!
Haven’t been to Hoku’s in a long time. The ambiance wasn’t anything fancy or romantic, it was nice. The food is what made our visit Superb! Everything we had from Caesars salad, oxtail soup, scallop, adobo osso bucco and rib eye was phenomenal! Great service!
We always enjoy Hoku's, but this one was a little rocky. We were 15 minutes early but were not seated until 15 minutes after our reservation time. We had to stand by another 5 minutes while the wait staff cleaned up the water they had spilled on the table (and into two ladies' purses) while setting up. This was important since the delays meant we were pushing the closing of buffet service. We felt rushed.
I was fortunate to enjoy 2 birthday celebrations here. Dinner than Sunday Brunch. The dinner was with a larger group. The service was truly exceptional as they were always available, never requiring us to seek them out especially with a large group. The menu selections were varied enough for everyone to make a choice. This is the best Seafood Brunch on Oahu. The price is high but the quality and the value surpasses the cost. The surrounding views of the hotel grounds, beach and ocean was beautiful making the dining room not so confining like some of the other restaurants without windows or such an expansive view.
