Hoist House Restaurant at Swiftwater Cellars
Dinner: Wednesday Through Sunday 5pm to Close
Happy Hour: Wednesday Thursday Friday 3pm-5pm
Nothing really jumped off the menu at me. Entree came with asparagus that was super thick and rather tough. Setting was nice though.
Awesome service and views
Very slow service. Ribeye steak was barely warm. Noisy...hard to hear across table. They did discount steak 50% after slow service complaint...did not discount all the other meals served
This has been a must go for us whenever we are in town. It is a beautiful restaurant with amazing views. The service is typically great. We have been coming to Hoist House for more than 6 years now and I will say we still enjoy it; however, the food quality, taste and selection has gone downhill. Over the years I have notice less diversity in the menu. This most recent trip, the menu entrees seemed to be about 50% steak based (which is overpriced and has not been of great taste and quality for the price). Also, as the restaurant has grown in popularity, they have opened up a banquet type room for overflow seating. We were not seated there in this trip, but have been in the recent past as our party size was large. It is a good space for kids, I will admit, however, the ambiance of the restaurant is gone, which given the decline in the food, kind of makes it not worth the trip and expense...
The food and service were fantastic. We'll be coming back!
Once again, Hoist House at Swiftwater Cellars exceeded my expectations. Great food (and wine), excellent service, and a beautiful view. Win, win, and win!
We dine at the Hoist House regularly and it is always a fantastic dining experience. The chef keeps the menu fresh with seasonal changes and the staff are always warm and friendly. The atmosphere is always apropos to whatever occasion may bring you in-date night, the occasional bridal party, a group of friends,or just a family enjoying a fine meal after a day of playing in and around Suncadia.. Summertime is always a special treat to dine on the patio and sometimes you can hear the summer concerts playing. We adore this gem in the mountains.
Service was excellent. A bit noisy for a conversation but part of the charm of the restaurant
Great food, Great view, nice mellow vibe.... A very special way to celebrate our anniversary!
We had ten people in our party. Two ordered the filet, one the halibut, one the pork chops, one the trout, one the special and 4 of us ordered the crab chicken. Everyone but the 4 that ordered the chicken were happy with their meal. The chicken was very dry, had barely no crab and was a disappointment to all who ordered.
I usually don't complain but with a $700 bill it would have been nice for everyone to have loved their meal.
Your wine was great and the atmospere was beautiful, but for four of us it was a very disappointing dinner.
I'd give an additional star if the space lived up to the price of the meal. Staff was friendly. We came for a special birthday dinner. It was very loud for place serving $30-$75 entree dinners. They need doors to separate noise from live music, crowds in lobby, wine tasting room and cafe. Also at this price you might expect table linens.
Food was delicious none the less. Just wish we could hold a conversation without yelling over nearby tables just trying to be heard over all the other ambient noise from other areas.
Had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary with you guys. Jason our server was fun, knowledgeable and attententive. Joel the manager was a pleasure to talk with and took a couple of opportunities to check on with us. Looking forward to a return trip.
Went with a friend for lunch and the food was great as always! I’ve never been disappointed in a meal there! Their peanut butter cake (if it’s still on the menu) is amazing! Flat bread is always very good!
The Hoist House at Swiftwater Cellars is a fun place to dine, have a glass of wine, snack or enjoy company. the service is outstanding, with most of the servers attending Central WA University. the servers are uniformly intelligent, thoughtful, courteous and interesting to talk with. the menu is geared to the hungry lion, with portions a bit too big. smaller sized plates would be welcome. As might be expected the pricing is clearly on the high side. The wine sold is that of Swiftwater cellars. it is decent, and some varieties are better than others.
you cannot go wrong at the Hoist House. My wife and I have eaten at the restaurant perhaps 15 times in the last 4 years and enjoyed every visit.
Fabulous place and wonderful service and food!
Great food and nice place. We enjoyed our evening.
Waitress couldn’t answer our questions on soup de jour, vegetables or deserts? Her canned answer “I’m not sure”
Normally I would recommend this restaurant, however our dinner on May 5th the steak I ordered should have been great, but it was a low quality cut represented as a high quality cut. The staff was a little on the inexperienced side and less than I would expect for the cost of the meal. We love Suncadia but it seemed a little rough on the edges in general and poorly managed. Will eat in town on our next stay.
Our service was outstanding. Food was really good.
Incredible food and really great service! The food was so amazing that we went back the second night as well. The Chef, Taylor, provides several gluten free options on the menu. My husband has Celiac, so it was refreshing that he had multiple choices. Can't wait to go back!
Thank you for making our girls weekend special. Our food was amazing and so was our waitress.
I got the crab stuffed chicken breast. The flavor wasn't great, the crab tasted more like canned tuna fish. But, the mashed potatoes were delicious! The waiter was ok, not the most attentive. My son's kids cheese pizza did not have good flavor.
Calamari was great with Thai flavor.
Disappointed with the desserts. Gelato flavors were served in one bowl instead of separate frosted glasses. The chocolate brownie cake did not taste freshly made and was not like their previous dessert brownie.
Had the muscles and clams, the clams were extremely gritty.
Beautiful restaurant. Great service. My daughter’s steak was tough was only complaint. If you’re staying at Suncadia I recommend going here instead of the lodge
We went for Easter dinner. Beautiful view and ambiance but very pricey. I asked about a burger that I have had there before. Server said that it wasn’t on the dinner menu. So I ordered a steak ($47) instead. About 20 minutes later the table next to us all ordered and received burgers. Very confusing since I specifically asked about a burger, especially for my teenagers. Everyone at our table did enjoy their food. We loved the gelato on the dessert menu too.
Overpriced, less than mediocre
We were given a nice table right by the window so that we could enjoy the food. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. So good in fact that I finished my meal before sharing any with my date! I have been to the Hoist House several times and it never disappoints. I hope to be back again very soon.
Service was top notch. Food was incredible. Ambiance was spot on. I will definitely return at some point in the near future.
Staying in Suncadia? The Hoist House offers very well prepared and presented food and drinks, with excellent, attentive, and friendly service. Make reservations. The meal was above average and we all enjoyed our entrees. The only minor disappointment was the wine - Hoist only seems to serve their own Swiftwater Cellars wine, and all the bottles of red except a reserve bottle at $85 were bland and flavorless. Aside from that, Hoist is wonderful and we'd gladly go again and again...except we'd bring our own bottles of wine! :)
Overall, the dining experience was really lovely. We spend most weekends in the Cle Elum area and it is wonderful to have a solid option for great food and wine. The filet and rack of lamb were cooked to perfection, the cassoulet and veggies really well executed. The Caesar left a little to be desired from a flavor standpoint (we both found the dressing a little lackluster), although we recognize that may be a personal preference thing. It was still perfectly acceptable. The restaurant is SUPER family friendly, which is great unless (like us) you were there celebrating an anniversary, and may have enjoyed a little more mellow atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back to try a later seating- as well as bringing the fam back during the summer to enjoy the deck and the live music.
Service and food was excellent!! We have been to the Hoist House at Swiftwatercellars several times! Never disappoints!!
For all occasions you cannot go wrong! We’ve been here with children and without and it never disappoints! Cheers and thank you for always a fabulous time!
The evening from start to finish was divine!
The band and crowd noise was a bit loud, but not a problem for me.
I cannot wait to return again.
Food and wine were excellent -- presentation, flavors and quality. Trevor (our server) was great and helpful with the menu and wines!
Awesome bartender who took great care of us before our dinner reservation. Excellent food - the flatbread pizza was ginormous, but full of flavor (great for leftovers the next day)! The manager was super sweet and stopped to chat with us for a few minutes. The staff is extremely friendly and try very hard to make everyone’s experience a good one. Would highly recommend!
Nothing disappointed, every course was delicious. Excellent, attentive service.
Great service and food. The live music was a bit disappointing and not in the same room as the dining area where our reservation was. However, overall had a great time.
Gabe was fabulous with all his recommendations! Thanks for the birthday dessert.
This place is outstanding! From the location, ambiance, food and wine to the service, they have a winning combination. We love it so much we ate there 3 times in 2 days and never got tired of it! Highly recommended and look forward to trying their new location!
