Truly will miss this place. The blend of flavors that John came up with was truly extraordinary!!
Lovely little neighborhood joint. Great beer and cider list. Delicious food and friendly service. We really enjoyed the fried chicken, the green beans, little gem salad and pretzel.
Enjoyed the moderately priced menu with a wide variety of food options. Extensive draft beer and hard cider options as well. Nice casual family friendly place to dine!
Great selection of beer and tremendous menu. To start the squash appetizers were lightly breaded and served with sour cream and tomatoes. We had the pork chops for the main entree which were delicious. Overall a great experience.
Great food and great beer selection.
Stellar food and service, as always! Everyone enjoyed their meal.
A fantastic place for outstanding food and an incredible beer selection. We had a great Father's Day dinner there and we loved the bench seating. One of Oakland's gems!
Best Father’s Day Brunch ever!
Graduation! Food was delicious as always and service was good.
Food was a bit salty. Service slow. Hot day with no a/c
Delish! Ciders are excellent as well as food.
The grilled asparagus ricotta salad was unbelievable
Communal tables. Got very noisy. The artichoke appetizer and softshell crab sandwich were exceptional. Our first waitress was very friendly but she left and another waitress was a little rude. If you add on the side of pickles it’s a very tiny pile of pickled celery and onions.
The pork chop is plentiful and good. The beet salad was excellent. They offered tastings of beer and cider.
Seats are hard. Good menus. Gets busy so book ahead. Family style seating in center. Not so diverse.
This was my first time here. The parking is non-existent. The food, however, was very good! Delicious! They do need more options on their Brunch Menu. I recommend coming for the food!
The food here is always amazing! Some of the best brunch in town. It is a casual atmosphere, so ambiance is more like a bar/ cafe that is louder and bustling, but not annoyingly so. Very good coffee. Reasonably priced.
Really having fun tasting new beers weekly...took a real liking to the single hop that I've never tried before!! Still the best pork chop in town. Have also taken a liking to the pulled bbq sandwich too - would rival a Midwestern one but the jalapenos give it the California twist that's great!!
Out food was yummy and the server great! It was just so incredibly loud though it made it hard to enjoy a date night out! Fortunately it wasn’t crowded so we were able to change from community table where we were seated across from each other to a place near the window where we could sit next to each other. Still, it was a lot of having to strain to have a conversation and only one of us could hear the server at a time, depending on which person she stood near.
Sunday night at Hog’s can’t be beat. Lots of innovate items to choose from . Great craft beer selection. We ❤️ coming to Hog’s!
This place was very accommodating even though my party arrived at different times. They were also willing to make substitutions to menu items. The food was delicious and staff were super friendly.
Food menu was limited, but was above expectations. Beer selection was great and employees were friendly, but under staffed.
Great place for dinner and drinks. The menu is constantly changing, so it always feels fresh and new when you go.
Brunch was really good. Wait staff was attentive but not pushy. The host did accidentally give our table away to someone who showed up with a similar name which was annoying but they were still able to accommodate us.
We will definitely return. Intimate setting with great food.
Really fun place for St. Patrick's day, great corned beef and the root veggies were wonderful! Too bad I couldnt suck it up and do a Guinness type brew...I'm a wimp and did the blonde ale!!
Arrived a little earlier than reservation, and they were able to seat us right away.
Great variety on menu.
Service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive.
Food was outstanding!
Drinks were great.
Will be returning soon.
We've been here multiple times but this was not a good visit. The worst part was our server who clearly didn't understand the menu then got irritated with us when she made errors in our order. She then gave us the cold shoulder for the rest of the meal. Couldn't believe it.
Our server, Marcela, was outstanding. She was personable and knowledgeable about the food and beers. We enjoyed the bartender as well, who gave us tiny tastes of beer to help us make a good decision.
I wouldn’t bring a date here again. And you don’t need reservations - this place isn’t romantic at all.
If you’re a carnivore and you love beer, this is the right place. The staff are knowledgeable with the beers they carry and the list has something for everyone. They also have draft wines. The food is upscale pub grub and their brined pork chop is to die for. My only negative comment is we booked a table for 9:30 on New Year’s Eve and when we got there, they told us they were sold out of food. Despite the disappointment we have gone back since.
The Chefs never ceases to do a top job - tried the fried chicken for the first time - amazing!! Light, crispy, flavorful & not greasy - pretty awesome! Now we we will have a hard time choosing between our favorite the pork chop and this.
You could throw a dart at the menu blindfolded and not go wrong. Our 2nd visit from southern CA. We’ll be back. 2 of us had the pork chops. Soooo. Good
I've been here a few times and will continue to frequent. Good food, much of which is house produced, friendly vibe, helpful staff, long list of local brews. Nice.
There is always an outstanding selection of beers on tap. Pork chop, fried chicken and various sausages are consistently delicious and appropriate main stays on the Hog's Apothecary menu.
This is what meat in Oakland should be all about. Perfect!
Molly is the best! Food is great too!
Hogs’ sausages are delicious as are the newer items, the burger and Cuban sandwich. The beer selection is spectacular and the music carefully curated. Finally, the staff is awesome.
