Overpriced sub-par food. We made the reservations for 6 people on OpenTable for the afternoon of Easter not realizing the only food option was a $30 per person brunch buffet. Our bad. The parking lot next to restaurant was valet only and closed off because it was full. We had elderly folks with us and couldn't drop them off anywhere near the entrance since the road in front was also closed to traffic. So we had to drop them off behind the building and they had to walk around. When we checked in that's when we learned it was a buffet and we couldn't order off the menu. We are not big buffet people. However since it was already late in the afternoon we begrudgingly decided to dine there. None of us enjoyed the flavors of the food. It was a very frustrating experience to say the least. We won't be returning. We had been there once before and thought it was just ok, but someone in our group had not been there and wanted to try it. Save your time and money.
Food was good and service was great! Appetizers were slightly overpriced, but it was still delicious.
I am from Europe, that is way I wanted to eat to a German restaurant, expecting good food. Everything on my plate was could, and the meat was not prepared there. You could buy it already cooked from any European store. And on top of that, we had to pay for valet parking. There is no enough parking spots.
Everything was great except where we were seated. Even with reservation, and was only 1/3 full, was seated in back and behind panels so we could not see stage. Was told not all wait staff was there to be seated in main eating area.
The vibe is great! The food is a little pricey but it is perfect if you just want to drink beer and have a good time. It can be a little loud but the music makes you feel like you are in the heart of Germany during Octoberfest.
An awesome visit for my parents. It was great German experience without going to Germany.
Great music! We danced and enjoyed the Sunday afternoon band. Drinks were great. We had fun while awaiting our food. Will be back with our friends!
Awesome restaurant and festive atmosphere-must try!
There is really nothing to recommend about your restaurant. The food is mediocre to poor & not cheap. The music is lame. I guess if I wanted to get drunk, it might work, but there are better places to drink. Sorry to be so negative, but your concept doesn't work.
The food was amazing. It was the first time experience with German food and all hands down it was amazing. The live entertainment the whole atmosphere the dress code it was just great
I met a colleague for lunch because it's near the airport. It was a fun atmosphere and something different than the usual business lunch. We shared the giant pretzel, which was great and our server let us taste the seasonal beer before selecting one to have with lunch. I could see that the place could get noisy when busy, but on a weekday for lunch, it was pretty quiet and was very fun.
Great German food n atmosphere! Music is perfect, and beer is outstanding!!
Great place and lots of fun. Noisy for talker by.
Great food and service. Live entertainment so while hard to have conversations with friends, the music was good and restaurant was very entertaining.
Excellent food and service. Beer was on point. Pretzel appetizer is an absolute must. Atmosphere is lively and so much fun! My only hesitation is we went with our children (aged 6 and 4). While it was fine for a late lunch on a Saturday, it was starting to get super crowded by the time we were getting dessert. When patrons order a certain shot, they get spanked by the waitresses (something I didn’t know ahead of time). This was a bit difficult to explain to my kids and we rushed through dessert and got out quickly. If you have little ones, go earlier. It would’ve been great fun with friends.
Perfect for our teen birthday's. They had a blast and were able to enjoy a fun afternoon.
Average The beer was warm and the food was $$ for the quality. The ambient was ok
Very large. Food service reminds me of Disney world on the scale of people served. Beer was good but Not impressed by ambiance or food.
Probably fun for big night of drinking with big group.
Great for groups!
Food was good, but not real hot. Fast and fun service.
We were ten minutes late for our reservation, but they were happy to accommodate us
Good food and fun atmosphere. We had a reservation and the hostess couldn't find it at first, said there wasn't one then eventually found it. Then the seating hostess told us to follow her, then told us to wait for another seating hostess but ended up seating us herself anyway. I found the hostesses very unorganized
So few German restaurants around these days. A fun place to go with great food. However, cost of sides with no substitutions is a costly proposition. And I’m far from cheap!
Suprisingly delicious, large servings. Wonderful beer. Very friendly and attentive service, especially for a such a large place. The oopah band was delightful. The only issue was seating -- even though we had reservations and even though we arrived at a non-peak time (4pm) the less-than-friendly hostess tried to seat us at a table stuck in the back, away from the band. We pushed back and got a great table.
My 1st time at this restaurant by the Fashion Mall complex in Rosemont by hotels by O'Hare. Have been wanting to go since it opened. It's a large authentic German restaurant and micro brew. Really large. Was impressed that they has live German music on a Tuesday night. There happened to be a large charity fundraiser for Diabetes. When we arrived it was empty, but the time we left it was packed. Great german food and beer. Just like a beer hall in Munich. Highly recommend.
Very unimpressed. Food was Ok at best. Very expensive for what you got
Great food. Energetic setting. Great for large groups.
Great food, the ambiance is great, authentic German dishes
Fun but pricey
Love the place...always have a great time. Good for a night out. Good food, great srivce and great beer. Good old German fun.
Competent German food in a lively setting. Please stop playing American oldies like Sweet Caroline and just stick with the German music that suits the atmosphere. Waitress was very good and was kind with my paddling for my shot.
Did not live up to he hype and food was cold and bland. Just an ok experience not worth the hour drive.
The food didn’t taste like authentic jerman meals. The server was not very nice pushing us to pay and leave because he shift was over. I understand the situation but the tone was rude and she was annoyed by our questions about why mushed potatoes were cold. This is a bad American copy of real German restaurant environment
If you want a very loud, cafeteria style, bavarian food, you will like this place.
Loud, as expected. But unexpectedly the food was just mediocre.
My family went to the Hofbrauhaus in Rosemont on Sunday, January 7, for dinner. We made reservations ahead of time and didn't need to wait. Our server, Karen, was outstanding! She explained the beers, the specials and the menu. She made suggestions on what we might like to order. We shared a huge pretzel as an appetizer. While we were waiting for our food, we enjoyed hearing the band and watching the kids do the "Chicken Dance"! The food was delicious and the portions were big enough that we each had leftovers to take home. The only drawback, was the fact that we were too full for dessert! So Karen suggested we take our desserts to go! Perfect idea!
The hostess wasn’t friendly and even we have a booed table took him 15 mins to find us a table . Then we waited around 30 mins without anyone to come and see us to order. I did ended call to the restaurant phone to ask if someone will come to take our order. We have been to this place at least 30 times in the past 2 years and always have a great service. Not sure what was changed lately but we got disappointed from the hostess
Had a reservation for 6 with a note that 2 would be showing up later for a total of 8. Apparently I missed a text in the planning, because there was a total of 10 of us. Luckily their beer hall style table and benches held all 10 of us, if maybe a little snug.
Services was prompt, empty beers were always quickly replaced with a new stein. Food portions were generous, and make for a second meal.
The band provided fun music and great entertainment, although the Ricola gag with the alphorn gets pretty old.
Overall it is exactly what I wanted. It's the German beer hall experience, with a taste of Oktoberfest that is certainly tamed down for the US suburban lifestyle.
Attended establishment for New Years and walked away satisfied. Really fun and great for groups. Our server was great. Be warned; if you order shots you will be spanked.
We live 4 minutes away now, and we love going! Great for a fun night out.
