Scott the manager was really nice our server was very busy with a private dining so I’m sure that’s why she wasn’t as attentive as usual but it was all very good
Called and mentioned it was my wife's birthday. When we arrived the table that I had requested (window) was available and to our surprise three tall glasses of an excellent sparkling wine with pieces of strawberries awaited us. Thank you "Scott"! This was a very special touch and very much appreciated. Our server "Meagan" was very attentive, friendly and as usual made us feel at home.
As an appetizer, we shared the 3 Street Tacos. Delicious!
As our main courses, my wife ordered the Salmon Salad and my daughter the Steak Salad. I ordered the BBQ Sliders. All three very different but all were extremely well prepared.
Make a reservation and you will enjoy the food and service of this South Glen Gem!
Very nice room and good food. Poor service
Food was ok
I make reservations several days before
Got there and said bar table available
This place used to be great for a sophisticated bar type atmosphere. But not the night we ate there. We ordered a Caesar salad and when it came it was made of chopped up Iceberg lettuce, almost all white and yellow lettuce. I checked the menu again and it said romaine so I asked the waitress. “This is the way we always make it”. The mushroom risotto was served barely warm and mushy, ok but not great. Ordered a glass of Chardonnay that never came. So disappointing!
The food is always good and the service is better than most places. Try the Brussel sprouts. It is worth eating here just to have that app.
This restaurant seems to be less busy every time we go. The food was fine and we had a nice evening but I was disappointed that the booth we sat in had a bad rip in the seat. There were plenty of tables open throughout the restaurant so I can't figure out why we sat there. We even had a reservation.
Excellent food and service definitely recommend
Wait staff is always friendly, helpful and congenial including hostess! Never have had a disappointing meal at Hodson's in SG.
We had a large group and our table was perfect. We could even hear each other!
As usual our table was waiting when we arrived. Our waitress Brook was very friendly and attentive. Her food recommendations were on target.
We will continue to highly recommend Hodson’s.
We’ve been to Hodson’s before and enjoyed it but for some reason it’s not on our radar. We usually order the high end dinners but really enjoyed a good burger, one of the best beef dip sandwiches my husband ever had (a ton of tender, flavorful meat) and a couple glasses of wine. Every time I come to Hodson’s, I think it is one of the prettiest decors around, perhaps it will now be on our radar!
Food was excellent, good portion sizes, and excellent happy hour options.
The Berry & Asparagus salad is delicious. I added Salmon. It was beautifully prepared; medium rare!!!
Fine place. Nothing over the top. Service and food were good.
The staff was very attentive to details and really helpful in offering a good selection of drinks and food! Would def recommend!
Kevin was outstanding - we will definitely come back!
Everything was good. We live close and go there frequently
Us about 20 other couples had reservations around 7pm on Valentines Day. When we got there, they were sitting people in order of their reservations but that there was a 30-40 min wait for everyone. They offered a glass of free champagne as a way to ease the crowd. Lots of upset and probably former customers. We were seated about 45 min late only because so many people left that were in front of us. The hostesses seemed to have no clue.
It’s very loud in the place. I ordered the 5 street tacos which were good but the waiter got my selection wrong. Very disappointing especially since I was prepared with reservations. Hodson’s was obviously not prepared.
Meal was great. Server was nice. Had a 7pm reservation. Seated at 7:30. They indicated a special experience for Valentine's day.. I guess that was the half hour delay? Others with earlier reservations waited over 45 minutes. Was their normal menu. It's been a long time since we last visited, I suspect this is the last. They were unprepared for the volume. Don't take the reservation if you're not going to plan for it. We even confirmed it.
Incredibly unorganized on Valentines Day. Obviously too many reservations for the dinner time. Only way to get seated was to complain. Won't be coming back here and will tell others to avoid this restaurant.
The shrimp tempura appetizer was delicious and our waiter was super friendly. After our appetizer we ordered a Caesar salad and our meal. We got the Caesar salad and had barely eaten two bites of it when our meal arrived - BOO!!!! That makes you feel like they’re rushing you out of their restaurant. The filet mignon I ordered was supposed to come with au gratin potatoes and instead I got some kind of weird pasta with pesto. Unfortunately I hate pesto . So pay attention to what you’re ordering here and ask about the sides, and if you order a salad with your meal tell them not to bring your main course until you’re finished with your salad. Great atmosphere though.
It was great but the noise level did leave something to be desired since it was hard to have a conversation...
Very nice for a small group meeting for lunch. We will go back for dinner sometime.
A friend an I met for lunch last week, and this place was perfect. The 3 tacos (your choice of fillings) was the right amount of food for a light lunch, and the taste was delicious.
Very disappointing experience. This restaurant used to be great with good food and good service. Our experience this past time there was not great, food was cold and very average and the service was mediocre at best from the hostess, service and bussers. Just not what it used to be and unfortunate.
Our party enjoyed all our entrees.
We had a great girls' night out dinner. Our server was attentive, but not overbearing. The food was delicious, especially the lemon dessert.
The tacos were excellent and I loved that they had a variety. It was also great that they were gluten free!
The decor, atmosphere, service, and cocktails at Hodson's are all good. The location is very handy for those who live in the southern suburbs. However, while some of the food is fine, this weekend's crab and bacon flatbread was not edible because the crab was stinky. The broccolini was hard as a rock and didn't seem cooked at all. Ont the other hand, the shrimp tempura and french dip were great. Just order carefully.
Our dinner was exceptional! We had a wonderful dinner!
Chris,Our server was especially informed. We loved the Scallops & Ribs Entree.
The food was good and service was great and we enjoyed sitting in the back side room.
Scallops are my favorite. I have had them twice! Caesar salad was very good too!
We had the filet and the pasta and both were great.
Food and atmosphere was great. Service staff were nice, but slow. And they did not refill my drinks without my asking.
We had reserved a table for two by a window. Upon arrival, we were escorted to a window table! The manager also greeted us a when entered. Our server was Meagan who had serviced us in the past, so we knew all was going to be well. My wife's Pomegranate Cosmo is a favorite! We split a large fresh Cesar salad. She ordered a the Prime Sliders, which she found delicious. I tired the Street Tacos and had to bring one (very filling).
We continue to tell our friends about the food and service and paying attention to the Customer's Special Request.
French dip, came with a very nice Salad.,lots of choices. Lunch and Dinner prices are the same. Friend had Mexican food. Will try something else next time for Dinner next week.
The service was terrible as our waiter was MIA the entire meal. The food was just as bad. It was over priced bar food. Not sure how they survive. Never going back.
