The main course was not enough variety. It lacked meat.
Excellent food and service. Enjoyed a lovely lunch in front of the fire.
We went for Date night, with a special menu and fare. The service was very thoughtful, the wine was just right as the food. The amuse Boucher give it a very nice touch, the soup was delicious and we were lucky enough to have seat right by the fireplace. The perfect end to our stay
Sadly below average. Nice idea, poor execution.
This was an outstanding evening all round. The food was exceptional. The service terrific and the quiet ambiance made it a very romantic setting for my wife and on Valentine's Day. I would definitely recommend this dining experience and cannot wait to return.

As usual the food was outstanding. However being presented with a highly priced fixed menu was not to my liking. If I had seen it on the website, we would not have come. We are in our late eighties and have small diets. So they gave us smaller portions and still charged us the same price. Our waiter was not up to the same level as the ones at our previous visits. While explaining the courses he said the fish was cod while the menu clearly shows halibut. As mentioned earlier the food was excellent but (apart from this visit) the menu is sadly lacking in choice. When we decide on our next visit I will search the website to determine if we will like what is on the menu.
We had a great experience at the Hob Nob. They have a very good selection of dishes. This food is always well prepared. Alan was our server and his service was very attentive. We went to the restaurant to celebrate a birthday and they made it a very special occasion. All in all, this a great restaurant to visit when visiting Niagara on the Lake.
We were regulars to HObnob. It has a special place in our hearts as that was the place we dined on our engagement night. The food there used to be amazing and we recommended this spot to friends all the time. This time however it was a whole different experience. The food was mediocre and service was average. For what one pays in this place this is not a good combination. Also the place is empty most of the time lately, I am thinking more and more people are experiencing what we just did. I will have to step away from hobnob for sometime now which is disappointing as it was so special to us.
The food was the best I have ever tasted. We both had the trout this time. Superb cooking. The service was excellent, prompt and unobtrusive. The location is a bit pokey, having been converted from a large house. We ate early (5 pm) and were the only ones there, very quiet! Got a table by the fire!!
I brought a friend to Hobnob for the first time. She is a discerning diner (as am I). We both enjoyed the meal...were able to have a wonderful conversation, even seated next to a very large group of women in the main dining room. The food was very good, and it was served in a timely manner. The bar is wonderful...comfortable seats, great ambiance, terrific cocktails, served quickly and well. I will definitely come back.

A perfect date night. Quiet, romantic, excellent food and excellent and attentive service. I would definitely recommend it.
We were seated on an enclosed veranda on a cold windy night. I suspect it was to prop up the appearance of how busy the place was. Basically we were frozen by the end of dinner. Not a good experience.
Came for dinner for our Anniversary, have been coming to this restaurant for years and the food has always been excellent. Unfortunately this time I was disappointed, none of the main courses really appealed to any of us. I ended up choosing a main course that had a small portion of Pork Belly, 2 scallops and 3 tempura mushrooms, that was presented on the 1/2 side of the plate. It was not a lot of food and I ate the mushrooms and a couple of bites of the pork belly and unfortunately only 1 of the scallops because it was a way to salty, I felt that for $45.00 the meal should have at least included potatoes or vegetable to offset the meat, especially port belly. Unfortunately I should have stuck with my first thought to just order the soup and an appetizer.
The service was outstanding like it always is, so I would still recommend going to this restaurant, you just may want to check the menu before you go, I know we would not have gone here had we seen it before booking a table.
The food was super deluxe excellant. You could taste each spice in the salad. My partner and I believe that the meat (trout and turkey) was the best ever. The place was a bit pokey with no real ambiance. The noise level was low (we are in our 80's) which was to our satisfaction. The price was at a once in a year level but if the we will definately return for special occasions, especially if the chef is still there.
Overall good experience! Great wine pairing.
A girlfriends getaway dinner! Excellent service from Arturo . Food was good and served in a timely manner . We’ll definitely be back !
Have eaten here several times, and the quality of the service, food and atmosphere is excellent! Especially great for Christmas feel! Love it!
Always a pleasure. We are here once a week.
Disappointing Fabulicious experience. Menu too limited & too many rich dishes.
It was relaxed. Food was wonderful. Service was exceptional. We spent 3 hours over dinner, but we didn't guess it was that long! It was superb. They gave us a free glass of bubbly because of our anniversary.
Very quaint. Very personal. The service was excellent. The food was good.
The food and atmosphere here were best in town and somehow less expensive. Really cool old vintage house turned hotel offered the perfect romantic dining setting. Notably people of all ages even a lot of young people.. loved the beet salad with cured salmon.
The ambience is nice and restaurant is very quiet. The fireplace makes it very cozy. The food was good but the dishes were very safe. Some dishes lacked seasoning. It was not what I expected from this chef after going to his restaurant in Toronto. Overall I was slightly disappointed.
Amazing dinner! The food was spectacular and service was wonderful. Highly recommend it. It was one of the highlights of our trip. From the bread, to the wine to the entrees, everything was beyond delicious!
Pleasantly surprised! First time at the HOBNOB for my husband and I. We were not disappointed. Great selection of wine, delicious food. We had a little table for two looking for a romantic dinner. We look forward to going back and trying something else on the menu.
A hallmark of Niagara on the lake. Simple restaurant, but great food.
Limited special occasion menu, good flavours
Anniversary
Hobnob has been consistently outstanding over 6 visits these past several years. The menu is not extensive, but everything on it is fresh to an extreme, superbly prepared and presented beautifully. One of the few restaurants that you come away from thinking, "that was a fantastic meal".
The HobNob is an excellent restaurant in the heart of NOTL. The menu provides a lot of variety and the food is creatively prepared. The service is great and the restaurant has a wonderful ambiance. I would recommend this restaurant without reservation. It is very good value for the money.
It was a perfect location with the most attentive wait staff. Not intrusive, very respectful when approaching not to interrupt. Food was excellent! It was a very nice evening for us as we celebrated 36 years of marriage.
Thank you!
The food was very good. However, we had told the staff that we needed to be at the theater for 7:30. We arrived at 6:00 pm. The food arrived at 7:05. Needless to say our dinner was rushed. The staff were very apologetic, this did not take away from having to wait 60 mins for the first plate to arrive.
It was lovely but very overpriced
Exceptional food and great service in a fine old century home.
Food was delicious! Wine was a little too expensive, but Niagara wine is so good. Tone down the $$$$ please. Server was fun and attentive, no complaints with him.
Seated on the indoor veranda with fan turning and casting blinking light on our table, we feared seizure activity! That was a little tacky for our liking!
Great service and lovely ambiance. Nice place to have a romantic dinner.
We hadn't been in over a year and quality and experience was just as good.
Great restaurant. New Chef and he delivered on quality. We were a party of four and got seated right away. Service was good and the sirloin I had was cooked just right. Recommend if you can afford the $.
Food and ambiance are wonderful. However the wine list is unnecessarily expensive.
Outstanding dining experience. The service is always amazing! I had the heirloom tomatoes as a starter and the filet was delicious.
