Hobnob Kitchen and Bar Ratings and Reviews
Truly fantastic. From Chicago and both my wife and I are in the industry. Every dish we had was delicious, highlights were scallop ceviche, octopus, deviled eggs, salmon and shrimp/grits. Chris took excellent care of us and we will be back every time we are in town. One suggestion.... carry Laphroig as your Islay scotch option!
The $52 ribeye was not good. Full of fat, gristle and membrane. It was my friends meal and he gave me part of it. If it had been mine, I would have sent it back. With tax and tip is cost the table $65.52. My wife's salmon was lacking any seasoning, not bad enough to send back. The mussels, shrimp and grits and something else (I can't remember what) were good.
We had to wait 15 minutes for our table but we were lucky enough to get a seat at an extremely crowded bar. The bar noise is off the charts. It is only slightly better in the dining area. I had the pasta special. It was fantastic. With lobster and tomatoes and a really good light sauce, the linguini was homemade. My companion had duck which was reported as excellent. Two other friends had fish which they found to be really good. It's a happening place, but the food is worth the wait and noise.
Our "clock" table was perfect for a special family meal. We had family from out of town who were wowed by Hob Nob! The shrimp and grits, grilled artichokes, octopus and white beans, and mussels, were outstanding as were our entrees including snapper in crazy water and mahi mahi. We will definitely return. Our server was excellent. He explained all menu items to us, first time visitors.
We have eaten at Hob Nob three times, and each time it was excellent. The servers worked hard to ensure we had everything needed, and the food was delicious and creative. Our three young teens who are hard to please are always happy with their food as well. We noticed on this visit that several waitstaff members who assisted us eight months ago are still working there, which means the employees must be treated well by management. We highly recommend Hob Nob to any age customer for an outstanding meal and dining experience.
We brought our daughter who was here visiting for the holidays. We all loved our meals & our server Jamie was excellent! Love Hob Nob & will continue to visit!
My daughter left her sunglasses on the table. She called when she realized it the next day. The glasses had been brought to the hostess stand & we picked them up the next day! Thanks Hob Nob staff! 😍
Restaurant was unable to accommodate a diner in our party with food allergies with just a simple piece of plain grilled fish and a plain side. The manager was condescending and rude.
While two of the dishes served were good, the attitude of the management and kitchen far outweighed any positive experience.
Think carefully before you dine at Hobnob, particularly if someone in your party has food allergies or intolerances.
Our meal at hobnob was excellent! Service was great, decor very trendy, and good was outstanding! We had the deviled eggs which have pork belly and are fabulous as well as the arancini, octopus, squid, scallop ceviche, and tuna bites. Parents had crab soup and sea bass and everything was excellently prepared. Loved the octopus! And arancini were melt in your mouth delicious! Didn’t have room for the tres leches cake this time so we’ll have to come back! Also great cocktail and wine list!
I can truly say that the entire encompassing experience was wonderful. The food was quite unique and totally delicious. The service was top notch. The environment was so much fun. There were people from all ages there and all seemed to be having fun. It was really a great night out with friends. I would strongly recommend this wonderful place to everyone. I will definitely go back.....again and again.
Great variety of small plates - scallop seviche was terrific though just one scallop thinly sliced. Octopus and beans was good but again, not much octopus as it was very thinly sliced. The place is a nice departure from seafood overload/atmosphere. We were there early so noise was not problem.
