Very pleasant sitting on the patio. Lunch wasnt rushed and the food was very good. Loved the stuffed dates wrapped in bacon as an appetizer
Lunch under the tent was delicious. It helped that the weather was great, but the service, decor and most importantly the food were all excellent.
Always have a great experience at HHK Inn. Dinner was fantastic and the tent is always pretty. Our only negative this time was the service was painfully slow and our server never checked on us throughout the night. This is normally not the case and service is usually great. Will notch this up to staffing struggles in the industry. We will definitely be back!
The service was not good for a Wednesday evening. The food was okay but not worth the cost for an over done strip steak and cold french fries.
Just loved the Inn
Dinner was good but room got very noisy
Music was enjoyable
Celebrating my wife’s birthday. We’ve dined at the Inn before. Always an enjoyable experience. This time requested outside seating. The weather was ideal. An altogether wonderful experience. Our prior visits were all pre-Covid and indoors. This time the menu seemed smaller and simpler than we remember. More than enough options to satisfy our appetites. Salad, entree and dessert for each. The birthday girl got the candle and extra singing. Thank you HoHoKus Inn!
Overall a wonderful experience. Food was delicious.
Service was unusually slow but didn’t take away from the lovely evening we had.
No comment except mediocre at best.
Had a minor problem trying to access the handicap parking spots. Hostess and waitress were both excellent. Food was just ok. Very limited menu. On the whole, it was ok. Would probably go back, maybe for lunch.
Food was delicious and service was very professional and welcoming. However, they seemed to be busier than they were prepared for. Had to wait a little for food and second round of drinks.
I would have given the highest review except for one thing.
Please mention on the reservation information that there is no on site parking while food is being served outside. I am disabled, but would have managed fine to get from the regular Hohokus parking to the restaurant.
I had to park what for me was far away, and wound up with a terrible problem, having to get back in my car, having someone else give me their space & find another, and then still have to ask a stranger to assist me crossing a street.
If I had known I couldn't park at the Hohokus Inn, I could have avoided the terrible discomfort and the embarrassment.
Other than the parking, everything else was wonderful.
I don’t know why I waited to so to try this restaurant! My husband and I had a wonderful meal and the service was great. Our waitress was helpful helping us with menu questions. Our drinks and meals were perfect. Absolutely no complaints! We can’t wait to go back to try more menu items. We have already booked anther reservation for next week!
Hostesses should be fired! Rude and obnoxious!!
Wait staff and food were great!!
Orders- we all ordered salads - we were served with half orders/ then 10 minutes later the other half was served. We were told there was only one salad chef that evening.
Main dish- we ordered scallops- no salt,
no butter and the broccoli rob steamed
Salt was added, broccoli rob had a large amount of raw garlic
There was a large party of at least 20 people in the same small room we were seated in. The noise was deafening. No one ordered dessert b/c there were 4-5 run of the mill options. The espresso was poor.
None of the meals were as pictured.
This is a really interesting 18 century or so house which is now a restaurant. The menu is quite limited not sure if this is covid related or the norm. The food was good but not great my party had 2 Skirt Stakes which where good a Scallop meal which was average at best and a Shrimp Salad which again was pretty good. The service and wait times while ok where a little longer than average. For desert the Apple Crisp felt like it sat awhile before we received it table side as the Ice Cream had all but melted away. The Atmosphere of this place is the best almost like eating in your Living Room. Overall I would rate this place a B you won’t be disappointed but it won’t blow you away either.
Fantastic lunch! Service was the best I have had in a long time. It’s a beautiful restaurant with amazing food and service. Get the stuffed dates appetizer!
Excellent experience. We'll visit them again very soon
Nice cuisine and staff
They have set up a lovely series of tents with pretty lighting and foliage. Should however have some kind of a floor because it poured last night and the rain came sliding in everywhere.
Food was very good except for the Keylime pie which was lacking. Cocktails delicious. Waiter tried but seemed like he could use a little help. Entrance is confusing and since I have a knee injury I had to insist they let me go through where I was dropped off and not walk around “to the front”. They could use some better signage And a second tent entrance where most people pull up.
We were seated in the patio and was seated on patio furniture. There was a different area with tablecloths outside that seemed much nicer. The steak frites had a bad charcoal flavor. Not a place we would like to visit again.
A private party, poor service and an unsympathetic Manager ruined what was SUPPOSED to be a special occasion. My wife, her sister (in from out of town) and their Mom haven’t seen each other since Covid started. They had to leave the restaurant early.
Fabulous, memorable evening with our party of 8 - thank you!
Very limited menu -many non elegant restaurant choices -hamburgers eg
Need more upscale choices
Spotty service/ sat at bar table
Expect service was geared to main rooms at expense of our seat
great good, plenty of good choices, great service, great outdoor dining
As always, we had an amazing time. Great meal and delicious drinks in the beautiful tent. We appreciated the attentive and friendly service Matt provided. Can’t wait to come back!
Been wanting to sit on the patio at the Hohokus in for years. Have eaten here before, attended celebrations and the food and service is always good. It’s a lovely place to dine.
Great as usual
Always consistently good and never disappoints. The service and food quality are great.
Service was very very slow!
Live music was great
Food was very good
So nice to enjoy a good meal outside. Music was a plus!
My wife and I came here for our 40th anniversary dinner. Not only did we receive congratulations, but when we sat down, we received a glass of champagne. Our waiter was terrific, and gladly took a few photographs for our social media needs. The food was outstanding.
Outstanding! The tented area is absolutely lovely. Wonderful experience. I hope that the HHK Inn will consider making this tented area a permanent part of the restaurant.
Delicious food. Great service! Beautiful lunch on the patio!
An enjoyable evening by all in my party of 7
Chomsky on tap was an extra positive surprise
Rarely find my favorite beer on tap
Nice atmosphere. Food was just ok. Not like I remembered. Staff was very attentive and pleasant. Overall good.
We had a reservation fir Father’s Day. We waited 15 minutes before the waiter came to take our order. After waiting fir another 40 minutes fir the food to come, we ask the waiter assistant to check if our food is ready, given that other tables around us already got served. The assistant went to the kitchen and came with our food right away ( which meant it has been ready but no one checked). The food was cold. The toast was hard and we left very disappointed.
Everything was great!
Great food and service! We celebrated Father's Day and it was the perfect early dinner!
While the ambiance in the outdoor tent was lovely, the rest of our Sunday, brunch-lunch experience was underwhelming. Our party of four waited nearly fifteen minutes for service. We were seated for an hour before our food arrived. The American breakfast arrived cold, no butter for the dry toast. The “fried goat cheese” that was supposed to accompany the Harvest Salad, was actually uncooked crumbles in a cup. When tea arrived, no lemon, cream, or sugar was part of the service. To get the sugar, another five minutes went by. A second glass of Chardonnay never came. This was not my first time at the restaurant, and although these difficult times require added patience on the part of the patrons, there seemed to be a definite disconnect in all areas of our dining experience.
