The bus boy kept taking our glasses and plates before we were done- clearly rushing us out of the place. We also walked out to the car and returned approximately 2 minutes later and they had already thrown away our left overs- we accidentally left them on the table (all wrapped). When we asked, the hostess would not ask the busboy. Crazy and it was not even that crowded. Won't be back to be rushed to order, rushed to eat, rushed to pay and rushed to leave.

Thanksgiving menu was terrific. Nice selection for everyone in our group. We were a bit disappointed that our group of six was seated at a table in the bar area rather than in one of the other quaint rooms. I probably should have requested a specific room/area when I reserved our table. Because we were in the bar area, our service was not as excellent as in previous visits. Our server did not check in with us very often so we were short on drinks, bread service, etc. it also took a while for our main entrees to come out. Will extend them some grace given it was a busy holiday.

I got a quiet table - which is what I asked for. I remember going pre pandemic for brunch and really liking it, so we went back. The menu was pared down, and the choices that were left weren't great. My salmon burger was burnt, my brothers chicken sandwich was bland (the aioli it came with was too spicy). The calamari was perfectly cooked, but bland without the red sauce. There are so many restaurants in bergen county, I probably won't be back.

Great place for lunch. Truly enjoyed the service, menu and energy of the service people, who looked like they truly enjoy working there.

Was slightly disappointed in the fact that the Sunday brunch was not the typical brunch . We had to order of a menu. I understand covid issues but something should have been said beforehand . Also the brunch menu was limited

Excellent food, beautiful interior. Only negative was my wife ordered her entree without cheese but it came with cheese. My onion soup came without a soup spoon.

Met for brunch with friends and we all had a wonderful experience. My steak and eggs were cooked perfectly. The mimosa was delicious. The ambiance is beautiful. However, the table for 3 was cramped and could have been larger.

I made a reservation for a party of 4 well in advance yet we were seated in the bar room next to the door that opens to the outdoor patio dining. With staff going in and out there was a constant cold draft which was very uncomfortable on such a cold evening. I asked the waitress if she could shut the velvet drapes adorning the doorway and she said no because it would be problematic for the servers. She never offered to move us. When our entrees were served only 3 came and we had to wait for the 4th. To be polite we did not start eating and our meals quickly became cold. Two of us ordered the mahi mahi special. The portion size was less than a playing card. Both men left hungry. Overall a pretty disappointing dining experience.

When we arrived we were greeted And seated at our reserved table. Then we needed to wait 15 minutes for anyone to take care of us and give us drinks menu so we could order refreshments. Then we needed to wait another 10 minutes. They were not particularly busy that night. Later when diners started to leave around 9:30 they started to rearrange the tables in our room and behave loudly which finally ruined our dining experience.

It was a good dinner for our anniversary especially when the Inn started with complimentary champagne. Food was delicious but the entree was brought too soon —- we had only finished about half of the appetizer and salad. Which is not good because we were in a tent and it was cold. But the service was poor in that we couldn’t send the entrees back to be warmed. Overall the tent was cold even though there were space heaters, they weren’t sufficient. The inn should consider closing in more of the sides and going to one large heating system delivering heat along the ground. Just a thought.

Cute historic place, nice ambience (ate outside). Food is good, not great, and overpriced. I could deal with all that but service wasn't great, which I expect at these prices. The guy brought the food and was efficient, but looked put out to be serving us. No eye contact. Just weird.

There were two private parties happening at the same time that impacted their ability to meet their reservation obligations. We waited almost an hour for food Second value for the expense was very low. Portions were small menu is limited. Will not return for lunch

The fall cold has begun to set in , but the beautiful outdoor tent was warm and welcoming for a very enjoyable evening at the Hohokus Inn. The service was quick and attentive as usual and the food was delicious! Loved the seasonal squash blossoms on the special menu ! They were so good , my wife and I shared the crab spring rolls which we love!
The main entrees came out nice and hot and were just fabulous!
Took a piece of the pumpkin cheesecake home as well, just a seasonal delight not to be missed!
Another great evening at the HoHoKus Inn!! Thanks

Mostly very nice with one exception. Ate outside under the tent which was very inviting. And the waitstaff/hostess were very nice and accommodating. The food was all good and well prepared albeit not very inventive and a bit pricey. Would have been a clear 4-star experience except for the fact that kitchen was soooo slow. While our oysters on the half shell appetizers came relatively quickly, the cooked entrees took over an hour. And while the waiter tried and came to the table twice to say the entrees would be out soon, the delay really put a damper on an otherwise lovely experience. I understand that people are having staffing issues but the restaurant should warn diners in advance

Totally overrated. Food was ok, prices were extreme. Blue point oysters do not cost that much. Tent outside is poorly executed. It was pouring out and the water pooled up in the tent so you were slushing through puddles getting to your table. Wish I would have saved my money and went elsewhere

Historic inn in HHK with upscale menu and varied fare. Excellent choices of entrees all well prepared. Professional and attentive service staff. Outstanding oysters and daily fish specials; my branzino ordered tonight was flakey and tasteful, perfectly seared.

NY cheesecake for dessert with a fine port topped off evening. Highly recommend.

What a great experience. We enjoyed some fall cocktails, and then had the shrimp appetizer, which was delicious. For our entrees, I had the duck breast and my friend had the scallops, needless to say, there were no leftovers. Our waitress Michele was fantastic and took excellent care of us. Just a wonderful historic place filled with charm.

The food is delicious and the ambiance is lovely. We always have a great meal here! It was a little slow to get the food out, our meal took 3+ hours, but I understand as they must be understaffed right now. Our waiter is always very good & we were happy with our service & meal!

OK. HHK Inn should decide if they are a high-end dining landmark, or transitioning into a casual grill type of establishment.
