   Specialty drink and dinner specials were delicious! Our waitress, Zee, was extremely attentive and pleasant from start to finish. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. We will definitely be back again.

   We ate in the Tavern Room and although like many places today they were a little short handed. However he made up the difference, I wish I had gotten his name. He’s the basketball coach at Park Ridge High School in Park Ridge N.J.

   My wife and I came for dinner, it was first time here and we were greeted by the hostess with “do you have a reservation?” We did! She did ask if it was a special occasion and brought us to our table. As I’m removing my jacket, the food runner barges past me to deliver food to a table instead of waiting for a few seconds for me to sit. He had one plate!! A waiter who didn’t end up taking care of us (can’t say I’m disappointed as I saw how he interacted with other customers) dropped a wine list, announced his name and walked away. The first person to say hello and ask how we were was the busboy. Our waitress was very very nice and attentive. She was quite pleasant. But the rest of the staff including the manager couldn’t seem to care less that we were there. (Not that we’re anyone special) but it’s nice to me made to feel welcome at least when spending almost $200 for dinner for two. (We don’t drink) The food was very good but nothing special. We had the crab cakes app, raw oysters, arugula and fennel salad (too much vinegar in the dressing, very sharp) the salmon and scallops as our mains. Our salad course was dropped at the table before we had finished our appetizers and obviously app plates weren’t removed. I felt as though I was at a local diner as opposed to a fine dining restaurant. We made our reservation for 5.30 pm so we’d avoid the busy time and still felt rushed. Our waitress was very apologetic and removed a bottle of water from the check. (Not necessary) Disjointed service and largely unfriendly atmosphere. Food was decent and we were initially excited to come back and try other items on the menu. But don’t think we’ll be back! 3.5 overall!!

    Excellent food, the wait staff was very professional and very personable. Wine list was lovely and the room was small and quiet, so very easy to have a conversation. Maryland crab cakes were fantastic as was the lobster bisque.

    Food was good, but not excellent. Service was mixed. A bit pretentious. Given the cost is moderate, I was surprised to see them add $5 for using a credit card. You might expect that in a low end budget restaurant but here, really?

    Visited this restaurant for the first time and will definitely be somewhere we visit every season. The wine room where we were seated very promptly gave off a very historic and Victorian feel. I felt like I was back in Savannah Georgia ! The food was amazing, we had the proscuitto,fig and arugula pizza which is a must try! The lobster paparadelle and short rib entree was also very tasty and the right portion. We wiped every plate clean. I’m sure this type of establishment changes their menu often depending on what’s in season so we will be back ! :)

    Six friends gathered to celebrate a 50-something birthday, HHK Inn was the perfect choice! Food was outstanding, service was friendly and accommodating and cocktails were spot on. We were all pleasantly surprised when we received the check at the end of our evening. Recently we’ve all experienced sticker shock at other fine-dining establishments (post-COVID pricing). What a refreshing realization that you can enjoy a fabulous meal in an historic environment in Bergen County and not have to grimace at the bill.

    I recently dined at the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern and was once again impressed. To start, we shared several appetizers, including the Arugula, Prosciutto, and Fig Pizza, and the Blistered Shishito Peppers, all of which were expertly executed. For the main course, we tried several items off the Specials Menu, including the Frisse Salad, Grilled Spanish Octopus, and Spaghetti Carbonara, which were all top-notch. It's clear that this restaurant consistently strives for excellence, making it a standout dining destination.

    Devils on Horseback were unique. Scallops fresh, crispy tacos tasty. They have a semi enclosed heated patio for those who still don’t eat inside that was very comfortable. Always great, staff very accommodating. All great.

    We loved our brunch at Ho-Ho-Kus Inn. We had a hard time deciding which entrees to get as there were several exciting options! The food was delicious and fresh, and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend for your next Sunday brunch!

    Such a rude hostess - she asked us to either move to a different table or leave because the next party for that table had arrived for their reservation, even though we were not finished with our drinks yet! Manager was no help - he did not apologize and said there was a 2 hour limit for the reservation, which we did not realize and no one had informed us of this policy when we were seated. And this was only 5 minutes past the 2 hour reservation “limit”. Rudest experience at a restaurant ever! For this level of fine dining, I would have expected a much higher level of customer service! Will not go back - ever.

    New Year's Eve dinner was mediocre. Lobster bisque was very good, oysters were covered with cheese but were bland. Strip steak was burned and tough, apple cobbler very bland. When we arrived we requested 2 separate checks (2 couples). When we were done the waitress told us that they can not redo the check.

    We went to the end to celebrate my daughters birthday. And as usual, the experience was superlative. Specifically, I’d like to mention that our servers, Sandy and Marco were wonderful as was Kaitlin our sommelier. The food as always, was great. We all had a wonderful time.     "The Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern is our go-to restaurant in Bergen County. The menu offers a wide range of options, from wings and burgers to succulent beef dishes and fresh seafood. The bar is run by the talented Caitlyn, who mixes up classic cocktails with top-shelf liquor and serves a variety of local craft beers, including our favorite from Brix City Brewery. They also have an impressive selection of wines by the glass and a Coravin list featuring 5oz pours of some of the world's finest vintages. As for the food, we always start with their famous wings or a pizza to share. The specials are always a hit, particularly the fish dishes. For a lighter meal, the oysters and chopped salad are excellent choices. But it's not just the food and drinks that make this restaurant special - the general manager, Junior, is a true gem.     So enjoyed our lunch with friends yesterday! Waitstaff were attentive but not overbearing and the gentle "pace" made the time so much more enjoyable. The food was excellent, Zabriskie Burgers, Shrimp Tacos, NY Strip Sandwich. The fries could have been a bit hotter but overall, delicious!

    It was okay. The setting is cool, but the service was mediocre and the food didn't really live up to the prices. Steak was brought out, but it took us 5 minutes to flag down the waitress to bring a steak knife. Our desert of pear cobbler, one of the specials, was brought out with no pears and while it got resolved nobody seemed to know what the desert was supposed to be. Brought out a receipt with items on it that we didn't order, easily fixed but it was just another example of an odd experience. We probably wouldn't come back because the price was extremely high for the experience we got.

    I've been to the Hohokus Inn before and it is always my go to place for something special. We ate in the tavern room and it was quaint and very enjoyable as always!! For dessert we shares an apple crisp and it was out of this world delicious!!
