Food was very slow to arrive and quality was not up to expectation.
Worst meal of our vacation. Well-done does not mean burnt. The center of my steak was pink -- big no-no. The outside was crispy -- also big no-no. AND SO DRY AND TASTELESS. Baked potato and rolls were blah. Friend's lamb porterhouse and mashed sweet potatoes were good, but we both thought our entrees were overpriced. I was very disappointed.
We were there with an older person and the room we were in was quiet that we could enjoy conversation, music was very nice and in the background. Food was delicious! Will definitely be returning.
Have been going to The Revere for over 30 years , and have never been disappointed . Excellent menu , wonderful wait staff , pleasant dining rooms , and a full service bar . Recommended for a pleasant evening for two , or a family gathering . Several dining rooms available . Go there , you will not be disappointed !
My wife had the lamb and it was outstanding and I had the strip steak and it was terrible, dry and too much brissel.
The room was pleasant and the gas fireplace added a nice touch to a cool Spring evening. There was a fair amount of noise from a larger party in the same room, nothing that could be controlled by the restaurant though.
The service was very good, attentive to our needs including filling our glasses without us needing to ask.
The seafood bisque was chosen as our starter and was very good! Quite a bit of seafood was included and the broth was delicious. This was the best dish of the evening. Both of us ordered from the Land and Sea special menu. The side salads that came with the meal were very good and pretty presentation. My wife had the filet mignon and sea scallops and I also had the filet with a crab cake. We both ordered the filets to be cooked medium, pink in the center was confirmed by the wait staff. My wife's filet was cooked as ordered, mine was delivered with no pink, closer to well done. Although the filet was fairly tender the meat was more of a high quality roast beef than it was a filet that you would receive in a steak house. That was noticed by both of us when we made our first cut into the meat. Although it was not filled with any tough spots, I've never ordered a filet and received this cut of meat before where you could see the meat grain and essentially pull it apart like a roast. Maybe I am spoiled by Maryland crab cakes since this version had very little taste to it other than essentially what the "special" crab meat smells like when it is purchased. No spice at all, just a little bland but again that might just be our tastes. The scallops were tender and plump but didn't have the seared edge on it that give it that extra taste and texture that would have earned them a higher rating.
In summary, nothing was wrong with the food but it didn't stand out as we had hoped and it wasn't worth the price due to the filet comments above.
Food was overcooked (black) to a point that it had no flavor
Good food! Brenda was very pleasant. Definitely will be back with friends. Love sitting by the fireplace.
The food was good but the ambiance wasn't what one would expect from an historic venue. It was full of kids. One kid was playing a video game without ear buds. They were also having a kid's birthday party. They literally sang Happy Birthday 6 times when the kid kept saying do it again. It felt like Applebee's. It may have been an off night but the way the staff responded made it a bad experience. When we said something on the way out, we were told "I know, they were really loud weren't they." Why didn't they do something? Especially with the kid playing the video games. It was the entire dinner.
The food is the best in the Lancaster area. Every time we visit we eat here. The filet mignon is the best I ever tasted. It’s like butter and not a piece of fat on it. The dessert and coffee are very good. Love this place. Will always dine here.
We chose the Revere Tavern to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Our family of nine (children, grandchildren etc.) was seated in a private room that was perfect for our toasts, conversation and fun. It was a cozy, intimate setting for a leisurely evening. The waitstaff was attentive and efficient and the food outstanding.
This was truly a memorable evening in every respect. This was our first visit to Revere Tavern and look forward to returning.
A very quaint historic building with lots of little stone walled rooms and cozy fireplaces. Food was great and service was friendly. A wonderful evening.
We had dinner celebrating our granddaughter's 13th birthday. Nice atmosphere for conversation and good food. Enjoyed the Mushroom Ravioli with Grilled Chicken.
This was out second visit to this lovely restaurant. We were not disappointed. We do not live in the area, came for business and shopping. The cocktails were enjoyable. The French onion soup delicious and I would highly recommend the beef tenderloin entree.
We love Revere Tavern! Whenever we go to Lancaster, 3-4 times per year, we make sure we eat at Revere Tavern!!!!!
Another Fantastic visit to the Historic Revere Tavern. We make sure to have dinner there every time we stay in Lancaster. Server was extremely friendly & very attentive. Food was fabulous. My husband REALLY enjoyed the Clams Revere. Just a little bit different than regular clams casino. He loved it. The stuffed mushrooms were also delicious.
We both had the Chicken Chesapeake. Which was also delicious. I absolutely love the warm rolls with the Roasted Red Pepper Butter.
Whoever made the Bailey Irish Cream Cheesecake deserves a RAISE. We shared a piece there and took a 2nd piece to go.
My wife & I visit Lancaster, PA once or twice a year and we ALWAYS make it a point to visit Revere Tavern! We LOVE the food and the atmosphere. It’s one of our favorite places to eat! We can’t wait to go again in the fall.
Awesome Place to eat at !! No loud noises etc. Really quiet and comfy atmosphere.
Entrees were like warm at best. Filet was almost too salty to eat. Appetizers, rolls, and salads were the highlight of the meal. Server did fine but had too many tables. We felt our food may have been ready but was waiting for our server to bring out
We had an enjoyable evening with our friends. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent.
The service was friendly and very well polished. We were celebrating our 40th Wedding anniversary and my wifes birthday. There was an anniversary greeting on the table and a free candle lit cake at the end.
Revere Tavern has a special occasion feel to it, with warm and inviting fireplaces in the dining rooms. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Specials were listed on a separate menu with prices included. The ambiance is quiet and would be nice for a special date night.
The food was good but the oversized busboy with the long hair in his eyes ruined the experience. He was constantly banging into my wife's chair. He was running his hands through his hair to get it out of his eyes multiple times at the table and while filling to go containers. He also fingered and palmed the rim of the water glasses while refilling them. It's the little things that can ruin an otherwise good dining experience.
My husband and I both said that it was the best meal/dining experience we can recall. Everything about the food, service and atmosphere was wonderful. Every detail of our meal was delicious to the palate AND the eyes. Our server Sharon was attentive and kind. This will be on our short list of favorite places for years to come.
Very nice. Many rooms with fireplaces, which was nice since it was snowing tonight. Only thing wrong was my wife’s wedge salad came with horseradish instead of blue cheese. That was a very strange taste but they did replace it. They probably shouldn’t have charged us for the salad. Snapper soup and filets were very tasty. We will definitely return.
My wife and I were celebrating Valentine's day and our 20th anniversary. The restaurant had a happy anniversary card on our table, gave me the seat I requested, and were very friendly and personable. The food was great and our waitress was outstanding . I will recommend this restaurant to friends and family for special dinners and getaways. 5 STARS!
Valentine’s Day dinner was very good. The food was excellent and very well put together. Great dinner options for Valentine’s Day and a wide variety of food. Server was not very tentative and did not seem very happy to be at her job.
Everything was very good from the service to food to ambiance. Sarah was very attentive and helpful. Whatever we needed , Sarah took care of it. Our meals were very tasty and filling. My wife’s Salmon was fresh and prepared perfectly. My meal, Flat Iron Pork Steak was very good. For dessert we had the Dark Side of the Moon. It was fabulous with lots of chocolate.
We really enjoyed our meal and the friendliness of the staff was wonderful. The food was very tastefully prepared as were our cocktails. This will definitely be a stop for us the next time we are in the Lancaster area.
Third visit over a ten year period, we live out of state. Good variety of salads, soups, appetizers, entrees, desserts. Entrees include salad, vegetable, and choice of starch including a flavorful rice pilaf. All entrees were served hot as they should be. An excellent value with good food and service in an historic inn and at a reasonable price. We had complete dinners for four, 2 cocktails, 1 glass of wine (very smooth cab sav), and a huge brownie sundae for the table for a total tab of $133.46 plus tip.
Very good service and food. Cozy atmosphere for special date night or occasion..
We had a great meal, ourwait staff was attentive, but not intrusive. The dinning room was quaint comfortable with a roaring fire. All in all a very nice evening. I had the prime rib and it was perfectly cooked. I Highly recommend for any nice occasion or special treat!
Great atmosphere. Have been there 5 times in the past and very much look forward to the grilled ribeye steak. They "had" the best grilled ribeye steak we've had anywhere. Nice char broil, very tender and juicy. Unfortunately we arrived this time to find out they changed the menu and removed the char broiled ribeye steak. The New York sirloin we ordered instead wasn't nearly as good and wouldn't order that again. We were spoiled and now disappointed with the grilled ribeye no longer on the menu. They have many other items on the menu that are probably worth trying instead.
We celebrated our anniversary at the Historic Revere Tavern. Had a great time, food was great, atmosphere was special, staff awesome. We will be back. Recommend for any special night or date.
Great food at a very good price. Outstanding wait staff - Brenda extremely pleasant and efficient.
Excellent food. Wonderful atmosphere. Great service
My wife and I just ate there and the service was very poor. We waited forever for drinks, then waited forever for our food, the waitress never checked back and the steaks were overdone and not good at all. We had to go to a concert, so we could not wait any longer. This was the 5th time we have eaten here. This place used to be very good, but this time and the previous time we ate here were similar......poor service and not good food.
We are done going to the Historic Revere Tavern. Lancaster County has far better restaurants.
This restaurant was in every way Excellant!! Food was delicious and service was great!!
Somewhat inconsistent with food. Was there in October and food was great. This time some of the stuffed shrimp were over salted, and the stuffed mushrooms were bland (couldn't really taste the crab). Service was very good though and nice cozy atmosphere in the room w/ two fireplaces.
We went for New Years Eve, as we have done in the past. The wait was short...15-20min.
We had a drink at the bar..lovely setting.
Food was good...not a limited menu as some restaurants do on holidays.
Service was good, especially given that tables were turning over with no breaks for the
Servers in between.
