Our History: Dating back to 1740, this stone building, formerly called the "Sign of the Spread Eagle", was a "Stage Tavern". It was one of the better inns along the 62 miles of turnpike stretching from Philadelphia to Lancaster, and catered to the more prosperous class of travelers, providing him with accommodations suited to his means. Fine liquors and fine foods were served in generous portions to satisfy the hearty appetites generated by a long day in a rocking, jolting stagecoach. We continue that tradition!
Through the generations, the Revere Tavern has preserved this tradition of quality and abundance. Our family, the Cosgroves, have owned the property for over 55 years and we thank you for your business!

We stayed at the Revere Inn and thought we would try the tavern our first night. It was so good we returned for the next two nights! First our bar tender/waitress Katrina was very welcoming. Our drinks were made to perfection. On the first night we tried the appetizers as a meal. Plentiful! We had pot stickers, boom boom shrimp, and boneless wings. Actually could not finish all the wings. Ate the rest for lunch the next day. Grateful our room at the Inn had a refrigerator. The next night we had the dry boat scallops, and Petite Filet with crab cake. Final night burgers. All excellent .

I started with a cup of Snapper soup, while not up to BookBinder’s standard, was good. My wife had sirloin tips and I chose the salmon. Both were very good and the portions were perfect. We shared a warm brownie topped with ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Excellent! The only negative was that tables were a little too close together with a couple located close to the doors. When I made our reservation I was ‘asked’ if this was a special occasion and I marked that it was our anniversary (#51). When we arrived there was no acknowledgement. Not a big deal but it was another reason for only four stars instead of five.

We went for a dinner for our son’s birthday. Everything from start to finish! I ordered the raspberry tea drink and it was almost too good (it was soooo good). Our favorite appetizer was the spinach and artichoke dip. We wish we had left room for dessert but everything was just so delicious! Thank you for making it a special evening!

Have been here at least 3x since 2018. Last night's meal was delicious. I had the mushroom ravioli, Diners with me had fish and chips, blackened shrimp, salmon and snapper soup. Salmon was a bit salty, and salad greens were average, so I rated food 4. Lovely setting and attentive service. Good wines!

We have been going there for over 30 years!! We were soooo disappointed!! I ordered filet and crab cake I got filet Oscar. The filet was extremely small and hardly any crab on it! My husband had prime rib he asked for medium it came back almost well done no red. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a box. The waitress was not pleasant at all! This was always our favorite place. We will definitely not be returning!

On a one night stop over, we decided to give this "Historic Revere Tavern" a try. This is a quaint, "colonial period" style tavern. It is simply decorated, which lends to the ambiance of an inn as it would appear centuries ago, with it's own unique history of times of yore. The staff was extraordinary, accommodating, and took the time to chat with us, to assure that we were enjoying our meals.
As an appetizer, we tried the Shrimp Cocktail, which was served with a well balanced Cocktail Sauce, not too hot, yet not too mild.
As our main fare, we ordered the "Steak and Cake" , which was a perfectly cooked 6oz. filet mignon, accompanied by an outstanding crab cake, and crisp roasted asparagus spears. Unlike the usual crab cakes we have sampled, this was straight up the best crab cake we ever tasted. Light and balanced, they were perfectly blended and cooked to perfection.
The salad was cold and crisp, and was a nice addition to the meal. We had our choice of starch, and opted for the potatoes cooked to our chosen style.
During our meal asked for a bit of Hollandaise Sauce, which was not served with this menu selection. But I am a purist, and my Filet Mignon, Asparagus, and Crab Cakes screamed for the sauce. The staff was eager to accommodate our request, and a cup of this delectable sauce was immediately brought to our table. Paradise.
Incidentally, this gem can be found at 3063 Lincoln Highway E, Paradise, PA 17562.
When you are in the area, give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
