Historic Revere Tavern
Excellent food and excellent service. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. We would not hesitate to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful night.
My hamburger was very good. And the mushroom ravioli we ordered was very good. Our waitress wasn’t overly attentive.
Wonderful food and atmosphere
hostess very nice. sholuld have a more strict dress code for such a nice place. service just ok. food outstanding.
Always delicious and never disappointed.
It’s a nice older place with a good feel. Bonnie, our server was wonderful. She noticed we were not ordering bread items and when the salads came out, told us she though we were doing Keto or Gluten Free and ensured no croutons were on salad. I appreciate her insight and thoughtfulness.
We had 5:15 reservations due to a show up the road. We were the 2nd could in the room. As we got closer to “normal” dinner time the room filled with others, however, at 47 years old, we were the babies in the room. I say this specifically because it’s a nice establishment and not a dining choice for a young crowd.
Food was great and came out well presented and to temperature. Service was appropriate and not consistently interrupting, which I appreciate when having a conversation.
Price was on par with the food and would compared to other nicer establishments in the region.
We liked the place and it made a nice date night.
We are local to the area and this is one of our favorite restaurants to patronize, we have been customers at this restaurant for over 18 years. We ate at the Tavern on Thursday night for the Trivia Night Event at Revere Tavern. The restaurant is broken up into three dining choices, the Stephen Foster room, the bar (has 3 tables for dining, 2 high tops & rest is bar stools) and the King George Room. Tonight we ate at one of the tables in the bar and were served by Katrina, who is always professional and puts the customer first. We did not have any appetizers for dinner tonight but our main entrees were: the New York Strip which was cooked and seasoned to perfection (thank you Lauren) and the Atlantic Salmon which was flavorable, the entrees also come with a generous portion of salad and house rolls. Recommend this restaurant, for both couples and families. If you are visiting the area, I would suggest visiting this restaurant as it is family owned and run (over 50 years) and a local establishment, not a chain.
The Tavern was the perfect place for a quiet anniversary dinner with my wife of 42 years. The history of the tavern itself is impressive. The drinks and food were wonderful. Our server, Bonnie, was engaging, attentive, and made the whole evening. Please pass along to her our thanks for a job well done. r/Captain Andrew T. Hammond, US Navy (retired)
Shrimp on shrimp cocktail tasted a little “fishy” and we therefore didn’t like it. Porterhouse steak was somewhat tough. Service and atmosphere were fine.
Our first visit to Historic Revere Tavern Friday evening was a great experience. The entrees, Rack of Lamb, and Prime Rib we're cooked precisely as ordered and the baked potatoes were perfect. We had a Baked Crab Dip appetizer that was exquisite; may be the best we've ever had! We have already recommended Historic Revere Tavern friends.
all of us order the tenderloin tips and two of us felt the mashed potatoes were cold on the outside but hot on the inside. my dish didn't have many tips on it. the vegetable of the day was brussel sprouts, bacon and onions. had we been told the vegetable of the day, all of us would have decline it. unfortunately, two of us can't eat them for health reasons. we'll be back hoping the potatoes are HOT.
So got there 10 minutes before my reservation. Parking lot was fairly empty. Dining room only had 2 tables of 2 seated. They took us to the table right between the other 2 which had one seat actually in the aisle where the traffic from the kitchen passes through. I asked for another table out of the high traffic area and not so crowded. The young boy said he wasn't sure but went to check. He came back and said that every other table was already reserved. I find that very hard to believe since I made my reservation only an hour prior and every time slot between 4:00 and 5:30 was open. No biggie. We left and had a great meal down the road. Had high hopes for this place but this first impressions told me what I needed to know. We will not be back.
Thank you for your review. While it seems like an empty restaurant at the time, I did some research on this particular day. We allow 2-2-1/2 hour windows for our guests, meaning, that if a table comes in at 4, we cannot seat them if that table has a reservation at 5, 6 or even 6:30. We also have several requests for "corner table", "by fireplace", "near a window", which we also try to accomodate and note during the taking of the reservation. I do apologize for this experience.
Waitress was quite snarky-Bonnie
We asked for a little more time to look at drink menu and she became very sarcastic and rude
Kinda dampered our whole anniversary night
Bonnie provided top service and food was excellent as well.
It was an anniversary dinner for my husband and I. I specified this while making our reservation. Katrina, our waitress/bartender went above and beyond to make our date extra special. She not only aknowledged our anniversary upon introducing herself, but she then went on to surprise us with a special cupcake to celebrate after our meal.
Thank you for choosing The Revere Tavern for your special day. I will pass along your comments to Katrina.
Nice place. Good food. Interesting crowd. Good service. Average value.
Thank you for your review. We do hope that you will come back and visit us again.
Visiting from out of town Friday night and saw this place listed. We were pleasantly surprised to find this charming and quaint restaurant. The ambiance was so romantic. The food was amazing. Presentation was beautiful. We had the prime rib and almond crusted chicken. Cooked to perfection, tender and moist. Veggies were the best we ever had. We had the kale and sausage soup and clams...so good. Dessert was to die for...Chocolate Mousse Cake.
Our waitress, Bonnie, was superb...friendly, attentive, and very helpful with suggestions for our choices. Loved her. We saw negative reviews but honestly our experience was so positive. And we are quite often disappointed by restaurants but not this time. We hit a home run and highly recommend this place.
We are so glad you enjoyed your meal and appreciate you taking the time to write such a great review. We look forward to your next visit.
Just discovered this after 20 years. Outstanding and wil always come back
Thank you for your review. We do hope that you will come back and visit us again.
Nice comfortable relaxing restaurant. The food was good but the service was not. Waitress was distracted and forgot items . She also spent to much time talking and went so far as to explain to us why she wouldn’t eat veal. Even after she had just served us veal . The experience was very off putting
charming atmosphere good selection of food very friendly service hostess told us of the history of the building
30 th Anniversary. Food was ok. Waitress ok. Nice place. Parking terrible. Catered to wedding reception not restaurant
New waitress. It was her first day. But the experienced waitress ‘training’ her was mostly absent. Poured wine into a glass with old lipstick on it. Had to ask her for more water. Never cleared used items from the table. I asked her what the risotto was since it was not the sundried tomato described on the menu. She said I don’t know. I guess the idea of asking the chef was too outlandish. FYI this was the Tuesday after Labor Day and there were only two other tables with diners in the room we were in, so she was not busy.
The food was good as always. Had Philly cheesesteak egg rolls that were good. Oddly some of them were room temp and some were really hot like they just came out of the oil. So I guess some were made earlier and sat around for a while. Diver Scallop special was good but only three and a half scallops which was disappointing. My sister had the snapper turtle soup which she gets every time but this time found lacking In flavor. The porterhouse steak was thin but big and very tender. The Brussels sprouts were excellent.
So we will be back. Hopefully the waitress if still there will have some experience and be better equipped to enhance the experience.
We very much enjoyed our visit to the Revere Tavern. The food was excellent and our waitress was very attentive. They even brought out a cupcake with a candle for my birthday!
The Tavern was very loud for a nice restaurant and one of the reasons was they cram too many tables in the dining room. We were in the front room and had a table in the corner....we were surrounded by other tables, which was ok until they put a couple in the table next to ours.....they literally were at our table. No longer could we have a private evening. The dining room had other open tables.
The food was average.....nothing really special. We had the salmon and the beef tips on mashed potatoes. The price was reasonable. Don’t think we will be back.
We have been coming here on and off for 25 years. We have always been happy with this restaurant. Our last 2 visits however we left not as happy.
First let me say the service is excellent.
So back on Memorial Day weekend we came for dinner. We always order the snapper soup...we have been ordering this for years. Ths particular visit the soup was not good at all. The snapper meat was hard as if it was just taken out of a freezer. Now we have had this for years and we know this soup...we didnt send it back or mention to the server, we just ate it and was done with it. Also the entrees came out kind of luke warm.
On this labor day weekend visit we decided to skip the beloved snapper soup and had other appetizers. Once again the entrees came out luke warm, and the dining room wasnt crowded. We think the cooks put the potato and veggies on the plate , let it sit while the entree is warming, so half the dinner is luke warm.
We left and now were not sure if we will come back...i will say we left another competitor for the same reasons and never went back there and their management didnt seem to care to lose a customer. We really love this place, love the setting and service, (Angela was excellent) but if you cant serve the food hot when a dining room isnt full then there is a problem in the kitchen...and this is an honest review from a long time customer.
Beautiful restaurant. Food was excellent, with good portions. Service was superb and timely. Nice selection of entrees and wine. Ambiance was excellent and the tavern was quiet enough for conversation at the table. Entire party had a great experience and would recommend the Revere Tavern to their friends
I have been going there for many years. Love the place.
Fantastic time with great food and staff. One server knew the history of the inn which was very interesting. Would go again when in the area.
Quaint atmosphere. Lots of locals. The room we dined in was small tables only - no booths. Our table was next to an air conditioning vent in the floor but was covered at our request. No doubt they have had the request before. Ample parking for early evening dinner and good signage, easy to find for out-of-towners. Food was good and ample portions. Service was friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend!
Food was delicious! Was a special birthday for my Dad. They provided a delicious cupcake with a candle for him.
Romantic Inn like setting with good food and friendly service. Casual.
Excellent service and food. I have been there a number of times and each time is an excellent experience.
Food was just ok. Service was poor and very noisy.
The food and service was excellent. Our waiter, Hunter was very attentive, pointed out the special (which we enjoyed very much) and was kind enough to take our picture, and present me with a complimentary Birthday dessert. I will certainly return on next trip to Lancaster.
The atmosphere was perfect for our anniversary dinner, and the filet mignon was even better.
Great food and outstanding service. Would come back again
We have been coming here for years. The food is always delicious and there are many unique choices. The ambiance is pleasant and the service is wonderful. Not many great restaurants in this area, this is one of the few. Love it!
We enjoyed our dinner here! The ambience was great, the food was excellent and the service was superb! Even helpful with my gluten free diet!
Our food was great and our server was very nice. Our only concern was the time it took for the entire to be served. We waited at least forty minutes after the salad was served.
Celebrating both a birthday and an anniversary. Great food and service in a beautiful old building.
