Food never disappoints, authentic, tasty, unique.
The ambiance is playful Asian.
The waitress was very nice, but after waiting 30-40 min we found out that our ticket was never put in, so I didn't get to eat, and my friend had to take his food to go.
Very nice setting awesome background music. Food was outstanding!!! Simple yet complex flavors as each dish built on itself. Try just for the experience we had an awesome time.
The service was slow. 4 other tables, we were a party of 11 with reservations @ 7. We arrived 3 mins late, had to wait 10 mins to be seated. It was a 2.5 hour ordeal.
The food was good overall, but the main issue was the service. It seemed they were short-staffed that night. The young man working as host as well as server/pinch-hitting bartender seemed to be doing more than his best, but something was just off. It took a very long time to get our drinks (we were told the bartender was late coming in) but even later when we ordered follow-up drinks they took a long time to come or, in one case, didn't come at all. I would give the restaurant another try to see if it was just a one-night staffing issue.
I was disappointed to find out that the restaurant was closed! In the era of technology where everything is online, it was easily could have prevented. We drove 25 min to be on time for our reservation! Very disappointed.
35 minutes from order to all 7 meals bring brought out. we were the 4th group in after open. seemed long.
Loved the small plates and sides - super tasty. The Cardinal cocktail is delicious, delicate and delightful to look at with an edible flower at the bottom.
I made a reservation and had to wait forever to be seated. I came for a lunch break and did not receive my food until after forty minutes of waiting. The waitress brought me out the wrong meal. A big disappointment. They also appeared to be under staffed.
Reserved for Sat., 5 pm. We were amazed; we didn’t see one other patron in the place during our stay. It was eerily quiet. The service was very good. We ordered the Rahman bowl and the Chicken hot pot. Both were tasty and well prepared. Prices are a bit high, but at least the product is good. Walked by later in the evening and the place was still almost empty—just puzzling. We might go again to try something else if there were some other diners.
This place is amazing for brunch. The chicken and waffles is out of this world and pair it with a bottomless mimosa, you cannot ask for better!
Three friends joined me here for a pre-birthday celebration. We'd read mixed reviews, so went in with open minds. We went on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was not crowded at all. Some of the reviews complained of slow service. Our awesome server, Jamie, was actually the hostess, waitress, and bartender. Had it been more crowded and staffed similarly, I can understand how things could get backed up. We saw only one other employee (don't recall his name) who helped run food and refill waters. The young man was also very kind and accommodating. The food was excellent. We tried: dim sum, roasted cauliflower, ramen bowl, braised beef and braised short rib. The Sunday brunch menu looked amazing. Too bad for us, those items were not available. We are all interested in going back to give it a try.
Valentines Day..... booked the reservation with Open Table app. Very quick and simple . Easy verification process. Lovely setup inside , dim lights, sexy and chill decor. Awesome price for the portion size.
We had wonderful service and the food was great! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We loved the ambiance inside of Hiro Asian Kitchen. The beef short ribs and risotto were delicious and so was the ramen. I am very pleased with the service.
This was a great choice and Marvin our waiter was Delightful!
My co-workers and I came for brunch while in town for work. I made a reservation several days in advance b/c we had a group of 9. Other than us, there were only two to three other small tables the whole time we were there. Despite that, service was spotty. I think there was only one server working. It took a long time to get out order taken and we were never asked if we wanted a second round of drinks. The waitress is as kind enough to give us all separate checks.
In terms of food, we ordered every appetizer except the pickled vegetables. All we're good. The favorites were the chicken wings and tater toys. Those who got the chicken and waffle thought it was very good. The breakfast ramin was reported as being very bland. I had the matcha waffle which was good.
Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but wasn't anything that would bring me back.
The lobster Rangoon was delicious! I also had the braised beef. It too was excellent!
Marvin our waiter was very good in making our experience enjoyable with his recommendations and service.
Everything was amazing, service and food. The special traditional Malaysian menu was fantastic!
Great food with an abundance of tasty Asian dishes. Best I've had since I visited Asia and lived in the Philippines.
My wife and I had our five year anniversary. We wanted to try something different. This restaurant had great reviews. Marvin was our waiter, he was very personable. We also got green tea cheese cake complementary for our special day. Highly recommend the wings for a starter.
Friendly chef-owner was a pleasure to speak with--clearly proud of his cuisine, and rightfully so!
This was, hands down, one of the worst experiences that I've ever had at a restaurant. We went for a special event called "downtown restaurant week" where they had a preset 3-course menu. We sat down at 7:10 and didn't receive our appetizers until 8:45. On top of that, we only got two (of the five) appetizers that we ordered and were left in an awkward place because the remaining three didn't come out for 20 minutes. Our entree's finally came out at 9:20 and I'll admit that the food was fantastic but even that couldn't save the poor service of this restaurant. We were finally able to leave at 10:00 (3 hours later!!). 1 out of 10 would recommend this place to a friend.
Hiro's for a weekend brunch. The menu is focused and tantalizing. Their lobster Rangoon are amazing. Everything was delicious, service was excellent. Looking forward to returning soon!
The food was creative and delicious, and full of great flavors and textures. The service was terrific too. We can't wait to come back.
It took nearly 40 minutes to get our drinks served. Water glasses were also not filled until checks were given. The restaurant was not overly busy so it was surprising that service was so slow. The table next to us left as they waited 15 minutes without any servers to take their drink or food orders. The food was good and priced Ok.
Great brunch on a Sunday! The breakfast ramen was really good, and seemed authentic and fresh.
Disappointing experience. Menu was very limited. Their Happy Hour that was advertised from 3-6 pm is only offered if you are seated at the bar. Our table was steps away from the bar, in the same general area but they would not honor the happy hour prices and there was only one other table in the entire restaurant at the time. They should have definitely extended the pricing to us. Especially since it was our first time.
So so so incredibly good! There was a little wait cause they only had one server but that did not hinder my experience in the least bit. We started off with the tater tots and chix wings for apps. I need to go rediscover my favorite wings in STL because these wings possibly are the best wings in STL. So good! Nice crispy crunch, juicy and tender on the inside, garnished with crisp green onions, and the Asian sauce is the perfect blend of asian flavors. Ugh just so good. I ordered the chix thigh and pumpkin pie waffle. A little twist on a brunch standard of chix n' waffles and it again was perfect! I also ordered the standard bottomless mimosa for my drink but other at my table received the kimchi bloody mary and the lychee blossom cocktail which I highly suggest! Kimchi brought a great breakfast flavor with a great Asian infused spice and the Lychee start of vermouth-y and dry then ends very sweet, just a very pleasant drink. I cannot wait to go back to try their non-brunch menu. I highly suggest it!!
Food is delicious!
Every person in our group ordered something different and every single dish was outstanding. We wecall very happy with the food, service & ambiance. The light fixtures were amazing! Love this space.
Way above expectations!! I'm not an "aisan" food anymore, but you don't have to be (appetizers) but went a little crazy on the pork ramen anyway and it was excellent!!!
Service was very slow. I don't think this was the server's fault. It looked like the kitchen was very slow with maybe only one person preparing the food. On a Friday at lunch, there was only one server on and 4 tables there eating. The food was good, but not special. Almost all of us had ramen. It was tasty but was lacking something I couldn't put my finger on.
Always a fantastic eating experience with a exciting fusion of traditional Asian flavors with a uniquely Hiro flair.
Alarmingly good food, amazing service, slightly overpriced but definitely worth the experience
Great little restaurant with some modern Asian cuisine. Particularly like the kale salad. I was told the restaurant turned into a club on weekends. However, I needed to wait for a long time for a taxi back to the hotel after dinner. The owner & staff were very helpful to check the taxi arrivals for me.
The ramen was just amazing!
The food is innovative and very different from other restaurants. Great service and a clean facility
Our service was good, though they were very understaffed. Our food took a long time to get to us, but was delicious. It was moderately priced for an Asian restaurant, but it's not really Asian. It's more like modern with an Asian twist. They have some Asian foods (the squid was delicious) but there were also foods that I could find at any steak house. The cocktail that my partner ordered wasn't very good, and tasted absolutely awful with his food.
