Hiro 88 - Millard
Actually I just recommended it yesterday. I love Hiro 88!
The food was delicious and the waiter was attentive. My wife and I definitely plan on going back again.
It's my very favorite Asian restaurant. I Love the Imperial Shrimp.
The sushi lovers were thrilled and our meals were good!
The sushi was as usual, outstanding. We are looking forward to seeing the updated wine list.
Just be perpared if you come in on sundays for happy hour you will have some wait time. But outside of that it was good.
Always a relaxing, delicious meal!
Victoria is an awesome server! She had lots of patience with the small children and tended to all of our needs superbly.
Our service was average. Our food was good but great. There are to many other places to eat sushi.
I was disappointed too because I really thought Hiro was a cut above the others.
Ate here with my wife on Mother's Day afternoon. Had eaten at the downtown and northwest Omaha locations before. This was the best. The Sushi was fresh and delicious. Our waitress was knowledgeable, including about the beer on the menu. The atmosphere was excellent and the prices were great -- they were having "reverse happy hour" in which the drinks and some items on the menu were heavily discounted. I had two excellent tap beers for $3 apiece.
It was fantastic that many of the staff were familiar with one of the guests at the table. They were very courteous and welcoming. The food and drinks were fantastic. The five of us had a fantastic time.
Nolan did a great job of serving us at the bar. Sushi was great as always.
Visiting our son at Creighton and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Hiro 88. Fabulous sushi, excellent sweet potato fries and edamame. My husband also loved his Chinese dish. Highly recommend!!
Chris was the best!
Great experience, as always. We booked for 3 couples, but one couple cancelled on us. Hiro 88 had our table ready when we arrived. One couple arrived before my husband and I, and the staff seated them right away, which is how it should be. Some restaurants would have made them sit in the entryway until we arrived. Love Hiro 88.
We had a wonderful dinner! The food was excellent and our service was great.
Food great as usual, just quite a bit slow this time. Think our order got lost.
Everything was fantastic
One of our favorite places. Food is great, service is good location perfect!
We had cocktails, sushi, and 1/2 priced bottle of wine. Great experience on all counts!
Made reservations for 6:15. We were placed in a corner table in the bar area. Next to the bathroom.. Table was agaisnt a slated wood wall (of open planks) covered in dust. The Buddha statue next to That wall also had about a half inch of dirt and dust, and next to that was the bathroom. People that arrived after us with no reservations were being sat in the actually dining areas. The staff kept forgetting us and service was slow because of thins We like Hiro but will never return to this Location.
Hiro 88 had no record of our reservation. The general manager was great, Open Table not so good.
Great service and even better food! Took awhile for our appetizers to come out, and actually got our edamame after our sushi. Other than that, great experience.
Great appetizer, sushi and service. Half price wine on Monday nights is a great value.
Service was super slow tonight, but we think they were understaffed possibly.
Great food and great service. We had reservations on a Friday night. I definitely would recommend having a reservation! They had individual tables in the “party room” at the Millard location which made it very quiet and easy to enjoy conversation.
Actually, last minute connect with wife on a Friday PM. Food is consistent. I like it because it has consistent food options/selection, a good set of selections for happy hour, and cocktails and sushi options that are don well. This is not a 5-star NYC kind of place. But with a reasonable budget, you can get good selection (both warm and cold sushi options) and some good options for those who do not like the idea of raw fish. Place is generally pretty busy; but even on a busy Friday night, the service was decent ... even though we were not in a drinking mode that night (which tends to up-sell the bill). I have done the Millard and the Old Town venues; and it is a go-to place for solid Asian cuisine.
Hiro 88 is always a favorite for our family, and we love every single experience we have there. The staff is always very attentive, and they are so great at accommodating our family when we bring our daughters with us. My husband's meal and children's appetizer were excellent. Unfortunately, this was the first time where I have been VERY disappointed in the sushi. I recognize that it was Happy Hour, but all 3 of the rolls that I ordered tasted as though they had been sitting out for hours, and they were hard and chewy. The fish also tasted "off". I am confident we will be back, but I truly hope for better sushi as this is what we typically come to and recommend Hiro 88 for!
We had an enjoyable dinner. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable and our food came out in a very timely manner. They have something that each member of my family enjoys.
The food was good. The crispy tofu was not very good at all:( oily and mushy in the middle and it didn’t come out u til everyone else was done their apps.
The rest of the table enjoyed their apps and entrees. The service was really good, she was nice and good at keeping on top of our water and needs etc.
What I didn’t like..
we were there for a birthday celebration and it is not listed anywhere that you will pay a $12 fee if you bring your own cake in. We were disappointed about that so took the cake back to work to share it.
We didn’t want to pay $12 to have it there. Seems petty I know but it isn’t listed or posted anywhere and maybe should come up on their site or on their menu so you aren’t surprised as you unbox the cake:)
Not the servers fault but def was an issue for us.
It seems that the cocktail pours these days are kind of light. Hamachi Kama was the best we ever had. Need to add some variety to the sushi selection, maybe some featured roles, and please put the Great White on the menu!
Very good food, quick delivery, great service! In and out with three kids — awesome!
Really enjoy this restaurant, definitely on our top ten (10) for Omaha!
One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. SUPER over priced. Go to blue sushi. So much better. So many things I could say that are horrible but I’m going to hold my tongue.
I didn’t think it was any better than most Chinese/slushing restaurants. Very pricey.
It was great! One of my favorite places!
It was Christmas eve and I think they were a little understaffed. Also expected some specials, so a little disappointed. But overall, service was friendly and food was delicious.
Very slow service and quality was not the best. Over priced for what you get
Typically, our experience at HIRO is great. On this occasion however, the execution on the food side was not up to their normal high standards. We ordered "Hot n' Sour" soup as our first course. It came out cold, was sent back, and came out cold again, with the explanation that the "soup warmer" had been giving them problems. And our friend's entree also came out cold, and had to be sent back. This was on a night where there were fewer customers than normal, so there wasn't a crush of customers.
Great service and gluten free options available!
