OpenTable Diner (Washington DC)

We made reservations at HH on Valentine's day. We were seated at a long table with another party; no privacy and they were vulgar. The service was extremely slow; the server didn't take our order for 10 minutes and never checked on us during dinner. We ordered the Heritage special naan which is supposed to be stuffed with nuts and raisins (I've ordered it several times before). We got regular naan. When I flagged the server down to ask about this he insisted it was correct even though I opened one up and showed it to him. I decided not to argue with my date sitting there. The rest of the food was fine. Overall a mediocre experience.

Loved it. Felt like we really experienced another culture which was warm, friendly and had inner peace.

In the middle of the Adams Morgan restaurant scene, this is a small restaurant with an excellent array of Nepalese and related dishes, all beautifully prepared. All of the wait staff are obviously proud to work there, and genuinely want you to enjoy your meal. It is quiet for close conversation, and has some interesting cocktails — elements for a nice romantic meal. The friends I took here had a wonderful time and savored the food.

This Nepalese restaurant is always a dependable option. The food is always beautifully prepared and presented, the people who run the place are about as nice and accommodating as they can be, and the prices are always reasonable. I would recommend Himalayan Heritage to anyone who's looking for a place for dinner up in Adams Morgan.

Really interesting menu, especially the Nepali specialities. The experience was marred by a large and loud party, so avoid sitting near the back if you value your hearing.

Dined after a celebration of Oscar Wilde's birthday at the Smithsonian's Ripley Center.

She started with the Spinach Chat and I the Pork Sekuwa. We had lamb entrees (Ko Jhir for her and a nicely spicy Vindaloo for me) and an order of Garlic Naan. We shared an order of the cheesecake-like Rasmalai for dessert and ended with well-made cocktails (Everest for me and Mango Refresher for her).

Service was prompt in the mostly empty restaurant.

We may return to Himalayan Heritage.

We happened on this place via Open Table whilst staying at the Washington Hilton. A little difficult to find as it shares an Entrance with a Karioke Bar. Once inside it is a nice restaurant, quiet whilst we were there, range of menu was slightly limited but plenty to choose from. We had Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Jalfrezi both of which were spicy and hot. Rice was excellent along with the Aloo Paratha. Closest Indian to the hotel and we wanted Indian. Worth a visit and good value for money.

Wonderful place to meet up with an old friend I hadn’t see in years. Service was so friendly and the food was amazing. Great veggie options for me and meat options for the others. Incredible value, too! I highly recommend Himalaya.

I had high expectations. Growing up with friends that were from Nepal gave me some experience with Himalayan food but the food left me wanting more. It didn't taste as fresh as I would of liked. The lamb and chicken dish were lukewarm went it got to our table.

Delicious! The vegetarian momos are the best! I've dined in and been for takeout many times and it's always great and the servers are very friendly.

First time trying Nepalese food and was not disappointed. High quality food and excellent taste. Some might say "Nepalese is just like Indian" but they would be mistaken. There are some commonalities but many unique differences as well.

This past Saturday, myself and 3 friends enjoyed an amazingly tasteful dinner at Himalayan Heritage. I wish I could recall the names of the 4 entrees and 4 appetizers we ordered, however, everything tasted so great - we're eager to return.
