Hillside Winery & Bistro

The servers were amazing, pleasant and knowledgable. Food was really good as was the wine.

We thoroughly enjoyed Hillside's dinner special which started off with a lovely charcuterie platter, followed by a kale caesar salad, wild mushroom risotto and melt-in-your-mouth pork cheeks on pureed cauliflower. A decadent chocolate dessert completed a perfect evening out. Definitely recommend the wine pairings as suggested by our server.

Walked the few steps over from their lovely wine shop after a very educational wine tasting with Beth. We appreciated the complimentary wine pairings and knowledgeable server. Interesting sharing menu.

We did the set menu with wine pairings. It was absolutely fantastic. First time I've had pig cheeks, a little nervous but really delicious. I can't say enough about the staff. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back.

It was all just okay except our server - she was fabulous. Sadly the rest was unmemorable.

A very pleasant experience from beginning to end. Great food and in sensibly sized portions. Wonderful wine, and Wendy looked after us well.

We took advantage of the 3 course dinner for two ($50 each). The dinner featured a cheese board with warmed olives to start. The cheese board included 3 cheeses, a honey spread, chive crackers, prunes and spiced nuts. We thoroughly enjoyed it and the only thing that would have made it better was a walk-through of what we were eating and where it was from at delivery. House made? Locally sourced?

Our Main was pork cheeks with mushroom risotto and kale caesar with parmesan flakes and pork belly. The pork cheeks were incredibly tender and flavourful, one of the best kale salads I’ve ever had (tender) and the mushroom risotto was incredible, my spouse who does not generally like mushrooms went back for seconds! The meal was served family style.

Desert was a chocolate custard with biscotti- super creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness.

Staff were incredibly friendly, our water glasses were always full and our second glass of wine came with a fresh glass. Tables were physically distanced and all staff wore face masks. We would have purchased a bottle of wine if asked.

Cute wine cellar like place with plenty of space for eating and feeling safe! Server was really helpful and we got to try a few hillside wines while we were there. The food is smaller bites but made to taste and look lovely!

The food here is delicious! We had the 2 person set menu and every course was really tasty. The staff were super friendly and they even gave us samples of a few of their wines. I’d highly recommend eating here.

I've been here several times over the years I've visited the area and always been satisfied. Needed to treat myself after some very stressful days and this was an excellent place to do it.

We were extremely pleased and enjoyed our time at Hillside winery! The service was super our waitress very pleasant and helpful! The food was extremely delicious and nicely presented! Ambiance made us feel like we were in a winery in Italy ! Will highly recommend to friends abd we will be back !

We shared plates at the recommendation of our server. Everything was delicious. the meatballs were especially yummy.

Dinner at Hillside was great! We had been there last summer and now wanted to take friends who didn’t know the place and it lived up to our expectations.
Our only critique would be that they still served and encourage family style dining. That does not seem like appropriate Covid protocol, so we were disappointed by that.

Excellent time at Hillside. Loved the uniqueness of their menu. Our Server was very pleasant and attentive. Was a very nice dinner and experience. See you next time we are back to Naramata!!

We really liked this place but would have been nicer to sit outside! Our reservation was 7pm and it was a little cool for us outside. Will return next summer,

Our server was incredible friendly, and the food is delicous.

I wish the upstairs patio was open to get a great view of the sunset over the lake, however I understood there were restrictions.

I would definitely recommend Hillside to anyone visiting the area.

We enjoyed our tasting before dinner. Cathy was great. We were not too pleased with our small table for 4 people for dinner. We were the first guests, yet other larger tables (2 tables together) were reserved for other reservations later than ours and empty when we arrived. These other tables were later occupied by 4 people, but when we inquired there were told there were no other tables available so we were forced to cram all our dishes onto a table for 2. Seemed wrong to be stuck in a corner with no view, a small table and we reserved a week in advance. The special menu was very tasty though.

The tapas style was new to us. It works very well. Service is excellent too.

I have been to Hillside Winery bistro many times in the past but it has been a couple of years. I recommended our girls group meet and we were quite disappointed with the food quality. It wasn’t like I had remembered it. :-(

It was a great all around experience. Members of our group were keen on Patio dining instead of indoors. And the hostess found a way to accommodate our preference in a very pleasant and flexible manner. Once there, we were served in a very professional, efficient and friendly manner. We couldn't decide on the wine. We were given tasting samples which made the decision much easier. The food was delicious - my wife and I shared a salad, the meatballs and penne. We will be back !

Anniversary

We had eaten lunch at Hillside and liked it so we went for dinner. It was excellent, especially the meatballs. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The wine here is also very good. Can't wait until next time!

Food was excellent but the service was slow and inattentive.

Wonderful meal. We ordered the mussels that were the special and were delicious. The food and service were amazing.
