With a gracious welcome, we encourage you to sample, share and pair for the ultimate dining experience. Enjoy!
It’s an expensive meal with limited menu options. I understand that the menu is tapas now but we missed the opportunity to order a traditional meal. Even the tapas choices were different than a traditional menu. The service was great and the ambiance was great.
Very good spot. Great personal server. Recommended.
Tried several of their sharing plates and loved everything! The carrot soup is fabulous - really it all was. And the Viognier Reserve? Sigh...
Add the killer lake and valley view and you have the perfect date.
Wonderful staff, service, food and wine. Perfect place for lunch!! Thank you.
This little gem is a must for those visiting wine country .. attached to a tasting room you can have both experiences . The menu is shareable so you can try many things. Fabulous risotto and roasted beets ! Wonderful intimate fireside dining - loved it !
As always the food the service and the ambiance at Hillside was spectacular.
Even though the bistro was within a few days of closing for the off season, the food was excellent - fresh, innovative, attractively presented. The menu choices could easily accommodate a vegan diner as well as an omnivore, and as expected on the Naramata Bench, both the wine list and the food reflect the high quality of local products. Our server was personable and attentive. The decor is somewhat dated but the quiet room was appreciated by friends who enjoy conversation with dinner!
We really enjoyed the food and ambiance at Hillside and will definitely be back!
Excellent food, wine and service. Relaxed atmosphere. We'll be back.
Dined with a friend and the atmosphere was casual and nice and staff friendly and helpful. Food was good except the kale needed to have had the very tough stems removed and would also have benefitted from being massaged... very tough! A large group of women at next table celebrating together got a bit too loud for us but that’s just what happens when people have fun so not really too big of a deal for us even if we had a tough time hearing each other. Big disappointment was the poor quality of wine...
Great time! We’ll be back. Next time in summer to experience the outdoor patio. The food was fabulous and portions were just right!
A very pleasant experience but the food was not up to what I have experienced in the past with Hillside
One of the most disappointing meals I have had. The wines were equally awful and really suited to a 16 year old not a regular wine drinker. The wines were overly sweet. I would not ever eat here again and certainly not participate in a event dinner again.
We loved our Thanksgiving dinner at the Bistro! The food and wine pairings were excellent! We went for a bike ride on the trail first and then enjoyed that amazing meal. This just may be our new Tradition :)
Hillside never disappoints!! I love the winery and restaurant. I go there everytime I’m in the area.
It was such a lovely evening, so we thought to take a drive from Kelowna. My partner ordered the harissa lamb pasta and asked for a less spiced version. But it came overpoweringly spicy so that he could not get any flavor of the lamb and he did not enjoy it. The pairing was their Syrah, which made the dish spicier. I had the shrimp risotto...it came in a tiny soup bowl filled with greens. This was listed as a main entree and was lukewarm at best. Our server came by when we were finished our meal and asked about the spice in his dish which my partner told he was unhappy with. She dropped off two glasses of gewürztraminer with the tiniest sip which we did not drink. (This was to make up for his disappointment?) As our meal progressed we noticed large groups coming in and this is where our server abandoned us. Our plates were left in front of us for almost half an hour while we waited for the bill. The gal who had been coming by filling our water glasses actually brought it to us. I told her I was giving her an honest feedback.... our meals were unacceptable and service was poor because she ignored us for the larger groups and we would not be returning. Her reply was she had heard this many times before. My partner begrudgingly gave a small tip.
Service was a little slow but otherwise a very enjoyable dining experience !
The food, wine, service & atmosphere were great until they allowed a party of 8 adults with 4 young children. The noise & behaviour were appalling- we might as well have been in McDonalds. No concern for the remaining diners & the breast feeding was the final straw. They need to decide who their customers are & maybe have an early cut off for families-not 8pm.
Second time at Hillside. Very good food. I will return when we are in Naramata/Penticton again.
We had been to this restaurant before and were blown away by the service, the ambiance and the food. This trip, the service and ambiance were as wonderful as ever but the food was...not good. Small portions, very high prices and not great flavor made this meal a disappointment. We paid for our friends meal as we recommend the restaurant and felt embarrassed by what she was served. Watery dessert, unevenly spiced hummus (one half of the bowl was incredibly salty, the other bland) and mediocre pasta dishes. The gnocchi was good but after this experience we will not be back.
Wonderful place for lunch. Service is impeccable and staff so friendly. Food was delicious. The pork belly tacos and gnocchi was outstanding 💕💕
Amazing evening food was so good. Like their concept of share plates.
Incredible food, wine and customer service! Incredible views as well! I would 10/10 recommend this restaurant to other people checking out the Naramata Bench wine region! I would also eat here again when I am in the area!
Unique food prepared very well. Home made bread was delicious, risotto was perfect and the Brie with honey and home made crackers was the best.
Beautiful setting. Good friendly service. Food ok.
This was my second visit, and once again, the food was amazing and the service was wonderful!
Well worth the drive from Vancouver.
Great experience overall.
I still don't understand why there's no corking option (for pre-purchased bottle. We spent time in your tasting room and bought bottles of your wine but we weren't allowed to drink it in your restaurant. You wanted to charge us for an additional bottle plus a corking fee.
Food and service were both fantastic!
We always have a great meal when we go to Hillside. The drive is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is excellent.
Loved this place. Staff so accommodating and food excellent with lots of gluten free choices
Wonderful ambiance with attentive wait staff, excellent food and many gluten free options. Our food was fresh whole food that was well prepared. We had a group of 10 that they easily accommodated and we sat outside and enjoyed the lovely garden view. The wine was also excellent!
Our server Blair made our luncheon most enjoyable, he was very personable.
Beautiful view of the wine valley and Okanogan Lake Friendly service, local foods and wines Excellent food and wine and great for sharing The patio is amazing It is a must when visiting this area!
We sat in the balcony, which provided great ambience. We shared several dishes and they were all excellent. The servers knew the menu and were very helpful. We had a very enjoyable evening.
While the food was good, however, we ordered things that seemed similiar in texture ( a lot of sausage or ground meat). This was our fault but the food overall was not as mouth watering as I remembered.
The service was excellent and the view would have been amazing if there was not so much smoke from the fires.
Nice quiet place to have dinner. Food is very good and service as well
Service was friendly, but food and ambience was underwhelming, especially for the price.
Great meal and ambience. Attentative waiter. And wonderful view of winery and lake. Overall a wonderful evening
Excellent experience overall, setting, food and service was exceptional
Prices were consistent with other winery/bistros in the area
Will go again next chance we get
Really enjoyed our visit to hillside winery! We shared three tapas style plates which were amazing and well sized to share. One dish was the beef carpaccio and it would be hard not to order again! I can only imagine what the rest of the menu tastes like. Service was also amazing, very knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely go again when we are in the area!
