Service was amazing. Food was good, the menu was lacking some variety and would like to see the main course choices come with sides of some sort
Thank you

Our last visit was not up to much so it was with trepidation that we went again this year. Glad we
did because our food was much better than before, and a much more pleasant server than previously. Rather on the pricey side, but was enjoyable.

Things have changed at Hillside, and not for the better. We used to look forward to our dinners here, but the change of menu to a shared tapas style is underwhelming. Perhaps it's the new menu or maybe the change in kitchen staff, but there are better choices on the bench and Penticton proper to choose Hillside as a must do when in the area.

Having the upper patio open instead of the lower one would have improved our experience just because the view from the upper patio is phenomenal. We did find the service to be impeccable and the food was excellent. Overall, we will definitely go back but may check that the upper patio is open before we go.

Best food by far but it was quite pricy for the amount you get. The wine was amazing. We had a flight of white wine for 18$ (that includes 3 white wines). We needed up buy a couple bottles as well.

Excellent experience . Wine and food pairings were first class. Like the small scale ambience and personal connection to the vineyard.

Spectacular experience as always! The food was great! We ordered the beef carpaccio, the Arctic char, and the slow roasted pork. Everything was farm-to-table style and absolutely delicious! The view on the patio was fantastic! It started to rain but they covered us with a huge umbrella. We were able to watch a gorgeous sunset during dinner. It was warm, a little rainy, and with clear views of the sunset. I also ordered the bistro white wine (really delicious) and my boyfriend got the hillside iced coffee (also very nice but nothing too special). We love our experience here every time! We can’t wait to come back when we find ourselves here in wine country.

Great all around. Being in the evening, there was no lighting close to our table so reading the menu and eating were a bit of a challenge...

I booked a table two weeks in advance. When we got their the hostess said take them to table 201, waitress said oh someone is there. We sat at the worst table and right by where the waitresses gather and they were very noisy. The calamari was very dry, no dips. We also heard another couple was very disappointed where they were sat, after seeing the waitresses move another table to a great view for someone else.
This is first come first serve.

What a lovely place to sit and enjoy the scenery of Naramata. We missed the wine tasting but enjoyed a half litre of Pinot Noir which was delicious.

The menu was disappointing and mostly structured for those wanting to share although the dishes were not really suitable for sharing. Having said that, the food itself was quite good.
A second suggestion would be to install blinds on the upstairs patio as the late afternoon sun can be a problem .

Great service! Love the tapas style of eating. Squid and gnocchi were outstanding. We ordered the short ribs , but it was not a short rib , more like an eye of round . Still very tasty but not a short rib. We would definitely return and recommend it to others.

My husband and I chose to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary with a dinner at Hillside. We were not disappointed! We ate the sourdough with tapenade, the risotto, and the beef carpaccio- all were delicious! We were happy to be able to enjoy multiple wines with their 3oz flights. Hillside wine is fantastic and worth the visit whether or not you get food! The view was spectacular and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend a meal at Hillside to celebrate a special occasion!

great food, great atmosphere but wine prices were exorbitant. 10.50 for 5 oz. glass which is high and make it 8 oz is another 4.50. $15 for a glass of wine that is in their wine shop next door for $20 a bottle is a little bit of extreme markup when they make money at the $20 even. Vancouver restaurants don't even charge that for a glass of wine in most places

Hillside does a great job at pairing their unique wines with menu choices. In particular, the Ottonel Muscat with cheese, Half Moon cheese from Quebec, drizzled with apricot honey - perfect match!

Fantastic all around. We had the meal with pairing $55 service and it was absolutely perfect. The food matched the pairings and was a perfect proportions for the two of us. We used to live in Europe and was recently lamenting how we missed shared dining and here it is right at Hillside! We will definitely be back to try the $45 meal service. The service was attentive and pleasant. The ladies certainly knew the wines and food. I took one point off ambience because we were on the upper patio and it was hot. A few more umbrellas or shaded tables would have made this a 100% 5/5.

This is our favourite restaurant stop in Penticton. We come every year for the view, food and wine. All of which are excellent. Service is also very good. This time was just as good as I remembered with some of the best food and wine on the bench. Note food is served more “family style” with bigger share plates rather than traditional mains, appies.
