Hillside Farmacy is just as excellent as it is attractive.
Enjoyed the roasted chicken with grains. Healthy clean feeling dish. It was also perfect weather for sitting outside that evening and enjoyed the ambiance of the patio. Place is nicely decorated.
Love the ambiance and authentic food in a neighborhood gem! Great for friends conversations, dates, (yummy brussel sprouts) cool location to support local historical business.
Such a great place! The chef brought us out a sample plate of a item he was going to add to the menu. Great service as well. All in all amazing place.
Cute outdoor seating, great decor and vibe. Great brunch spot!
We had SUCH a nice experience. After being turned down by a few other snooty restaurants in town as we didn't have a Saturday night reservation, we finally found Hillside Farmacy available on OpenTable. I'd dined there for brunch and lunch before but not for dinner. We were so happy immediately with our choice. It was a warm, welcoming, and vibrant environment with good energy. Their décor is so cool with a vintage feel. They bank on the old Pharmacy feel in an artistic way. The host was amazing. He was friendly and communicative and checked in on us continually through the evening. The food was stellar. We dined on raw oysters, mac and cheese, roasted Brussel sprouts, and an incredible burger with added bacon and cheese. Oh and the salt and vinegar fries with aioli were killer. We were pleased that Hillside Farmacy turned our evening around and thank the great staff there!
Loved it. We look forward to our next visit.
Great experience! Well knowledgable staff and good selection of beers. Highly recommend stopping in for half-off oyster Mondays!
Oysters are awesome. Great selection of small plates!
I loved this restauarant. The food was delicious and the interior design was so good! Creative, fun and good meal!
In town from Denver and definitely worth a trip for sure! Food was fabulous!
The restaurant has a musty, damp smell. The water glasses had a bad taste, almost greasy like it had not been thoroughly washed or washed at all.
Both my husband and I were disappointed as we expected fresh farm to table. We were both sick the following day and could not eat anything until later at night when our stomachs calmed down.
I would not recommend this restaurant.
We had a good time here for our usual Tuesday date night. The service was a little slow, but the employees were all very nice and professional. We had the macaroni to start with (delicious), and then the linguine (tasted like an average spaghetti), oysters (awesome), brussles sprouts (also awesome) for our entree.
Atmosphere was great and the drinks mixed with the house-made soda were awesome!
This wouldn't be on the top of my list to go back and try again, but we still had a very enjoyable time.
This was the best meal I have had in Austin since moving here two years ago. The general manager, chef, bartender, and server all made the dining experience fun, unique, and memorable.
I had friends visiting from out of town and they were blown away by how kind the staff was and how delicious the food was. As someone with severe food restrictions, I often feel like a burden at restaurants, but at Hillside Farmacy, I felt respected and like it was no big deal. They reviewed the reservation notes with care and were ready to share all of my options (of which there were several!). Much appreciated. I will definitely be back!
We loved the decor and ambiance. Food was creative and good. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Parking is plentiful. We will put Farmacy on the list of our regulars.
Everything was absolutely outstanding! We really enjoyed it.
really enjoyable evening, friendly staff, food was very good and ample portions
Menú is not as good as it used to be. The desserts were bland.
Was the best meal I had in Austin. Loved the environment and the food was awesome. The staff was attentive but not overbearing. Attention to detail in the restaurant was off the charts.
Top 5 spot for breakfast in Austin! I love their fried egg sandwich, pancakes and mac n'cheese! The place is super cute and the service is always great!
Great service and food!!
Was in town for the weekend and found this great Little restaurant online. That was by far the best bowl of linguine bolognese that I ever had! And I am Italian! I cannot wait to come back to Austin because the Farmacy is high on my list now.
Beautifully presented farm-to-table menu, with a nice selection of local beers, wines, and handcrafted cocktails. We brought an out of town friend for dinner. All of us were impressed with the food and drinks, the ambiance, service, and the music.
Always a pleasure eating at Hillside Pharmacy. If you're looking to begin venturing into East Austin, this is a great jumping off point.
Great menu with lots of organic, grassfed options. Went during Happy Hour and starters were half price and serving size was huge. Unique cocktails all made with natural homemade ingredients. Great outdoor seating. Will definitely return soon.
Good simple food. Good interesting drinks. Interesting Austin feel and just a fun place to eat.
I went here with my friend before a show at the Frank Erwin Center on a Sunday evening. We arrived earlier than our reservation but they seated us right away. The place was pretty empty but that doesn't usually matter to me. It's a gorgeous place, very old-looking with modern touches here and there. There's something interesting to see anywhere you look. Our food was ordered and it took a bit longer than expected but it was delicious. The fountain sodas are really good and I loved that you can add alcohol to them if you wish or just drink them without. The Numba Six was good but I don't love coleslaw so I didn't care for the small side of it that came with the sandwich. Overall it was a delicious meal and pleasant experience.
The ambiance and outdoor seating are great. The restaurant wasn't very busy on a Friday night at 8:00. The food was good, but with inconsistencies. We ordered mussels and were told bread would accompany them. We received two small croutons that looked like garnish for a Caesar salad. The table next to us got large pieces of bread with theirs. Our server said sorry, but did nothing to remedy the issue. The dish cost $18.
The best part of the evening was that the servers were very friendly. I found the portion size on the main course (roasted chicken) to be rather small, and I really am not a big eater. Any grown adult likely would find it lacking in quantity. The flavors were good, just not much of it to enjoy.
The food and drinks were delicious! The service was great and our waitress was awesome. She gave us the background of the restaurant and how they get their food from local farms, etc. We will definitely be going back!
We enjoyed a very good dinner here last Saturday night. The atmosphere is wonderful as you sit inside the old pharmacy building and the bar makes great use of the old cabinets and drawers. The food was very good and the service was friendly.
They were out of a lot of things, service was pretty slow for being empty, the food was good but not great, and they served a desert that was different than what was on the menu. I'd had a good experience before but this time was a fail. Not sure I'd go back any time soon.
The place looks great! great ambiance.
The food took 45 minutes to arrive and it was underwhelming. My "Pork Loin" was a breaded Wienerschnitzel.
All in all - not a bad place, might go back - had interesting and fun drinks. But the service was very slow (we ran out of drinks including water after 20 mins, was not asked if we wanted anything else until the food arrived at the 45 minute mark)
It should be noted that our table was serviced by the bartender who looked busy! There were waiters covering other tables and I would think they got better/faster service than us - so our experience might not be the norm.
Food was good. Service was terrific. Parking was a challenge but I knew that going in. Sat outside after having the table near the washroom door, which is unfortunate a table is in that location but their space is limited. Otherwise, loved the place. The menu is modest as is the wine list but both were superb. Will definitely dine here again.
Great decor and then menu offered something for everyone.
Waitress seemed uninterested in us. Food was so-so but priced too high. Not enough food selections or beer selections.
I went for a girls night dinner! We had a very attentive waitress who was happy to explain the drink and food menu several times. It was a gorgeous evening and we ate on the front porch. I will definitely go back.
The cocktails were good. The oysters were tasty. Very few entrees on the menu, particularly if you don't want beef. I ordered pasta by default, and it was fine but not special. Husband liked his steak and fries. We were seated in side dining room, which was dim and lacking in ambience. I wouldn't go back.
Dinner with friends before the theater. Wished we could have stayed longer for dessert. All were pleased with their meal, craft cocktail, and cheese plate.
Excellent food and very attentive service. Love this place!
