The Hibachi food was excellent. Quiet booth was perfect for our business meeting.
Service was great as was the ambiance and of course the food.
Great place for authentic Japanese food. So much on the menu you just won't find anywhere else, such as the desserts. Really good food and good service. Can't go wrong here! Quality food in a relaxed, yet fun atmosphere.
Ramen was quite good, but tuna nigiri was ghastly and the prices seemed high compared to other local Japanese restaurants . Will stick with Sapporo.
This was a first in the sense that everyone really enjoyed their food, not one complaint. Need I say more about this tasty restaurant.
The sashimi was very good and was served to our table quickly. Had a little communication issue between our server and kitchen that was worked out once we made them aware of the mistake. The rolls were creative, yummy and unique. But, we like the sashimi best! Very fresh. One other thing that we all noted was that the whole restaurant could use a good cleaning and dusting. The men's room was unkept and the floors were sticky. We were at the restaurant early, so this isn't something that I would expect at the start of a Friday night service.
Very cool spot in Westport Village. High energy service, great food.
Great service, excellent sushi and a nice atmosphere. It was lively and fun.
Wonderful wait staff. Great food. Affordable prices. Great environment.
Hiko-A-mon has gone downhill since we last were there a year ago. First, they said they didn’t have our reservation, even though I showed them my confirmation email from Open Table, so we had to wait for a table to open up. Then we had three different servers take care of us for the night which was odd. The sushi was a lot smaller than I remember and actually tasted like sushi you buy in a grocery store. We used to love this place, but Louisville offers much better sushi experiences for the same price. We will not be back.
Not a pleasant experience when they called to say that we needed to come in before our 1:30 open table reservation because their chef was leaving at 2. Extremely rude service. Ignored questions about the menu from my guests. Bad experience and made the birthday girl anxious to be there.
An excellent restaurant. Sushi is very well made with a good selection of raw and cooked items.
The Tempura is the best in town, very light and a nice appetizer with shrimp and vegetables
Always great sushi and service, our favorite go to place for sushi.
Very good experience. Will definitely be coming back to eat again.
Always excellent food & service. Regardless of number in our party the service is always good.
I love the food, and I visit frequently, but this time our service was horrible. The food as always was delicious. It was my son's first time, so he was surprised because we had raved about it. He did enjoy the food. When I return, if they give me the waitress I had I will ask to sit at another table.
Had a great time here. Food was awesome. Service was prompt and very friendly.
I made a reservation for a birthday dinner with my wife and another couple. I was disappointed to discover, they had no table set up for us and never mentioned her birthday, though I asked for a special table for her special birthday dinner. The food was great as expected, but there was no effort to help create a special birthday dinner for my wife
Fantastic meal with our closest friends. It’s our best place to celebrate.
Great experience. The food was delicious and the staff was great! They made my mom's birthday wonderful.
Always excellent. We go several times a year and they've never disappointed us.
Really nice place. Enjoyed food.
Great service and food you can't beat that! Took care of a big party with no problem!!
the food here is amazing! If you can be beyond the americanized sushi you can find some traditional Japanese dishes on the menu.
The tempura was excellent. We had the shrimp with vegetables. Good sushi tightly crafted and fresh. Service was friendly and professional.
Love this place. Wait staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Authentic Japanese food. Not easy to find in Louisville. Many Japanese restaurants mix the Asian flavors. This is our favorite. Fresh, fresh sushi. Love it.
We visit Hiko-A-Mon about once a month. The food and service are excellent!
The food is both authentic Japanese and delicious. Generous helpings are served on unique plates with choice of chopsticks or standard utensils. Prices are reasonable especially considering the high quality of the food.
The service was very slow however that could have been due to Mother's Day. The food as always was great and neatly presented and prepared. It is a great small place to find great sushi at a reasonable price, there is always an assortment which leaves room for adventure in trying new things. I recommend I a reservation on weekend nights or you might have to wait a little. If you have to wait I would take a look at the bar and relax and watch some sushi being made.
We had a party of 5 for Mother's Day (6 if you count our 3 month old). The server was very inattentive to our table, but was polite. However, the food was phenomenal. Everything from the snapper appetizer to the bento box and ahi tuna dinner was well prepared and fresh. We will definitely give it another shot on a regular evening.
Really great food!! First time visiting and will definitely be back.
The food is always so delicious here. You can truly taste how fresh everything is. It also comes across as very authentic to me as a fan of Japanese food.
The atmosphere has a somewhat modern decor, but not so fancy that you'd feel out of place in jeans. The service is friendly; the food is delicious and served in a timely manner.
Great service, good sushi, breadth of menu and authentic options. One if my favorite Sushi spots in town.
This restaurant is the authority on sushi in Louisville. Absolutely amazing. Hands down.
The waitress and chef were so accommodating to my gluten allergy!
We have eaten here several times. The sushi is fresh, and well prepared. This is my daughter and son in laws favorite sushi restaurant. They have a good selection. Although they are always busy, the service is fast. Nothing special about the ambiance. It is located in a strip mall. Sometimes it is a bit noisy, but never drowns out the conversation. We will continue to eat sushi here.
Smoked salmon nigiri was good. Sushi roll and ahi tuna ceasar was good. Toro nigiri however left a lot to be desired.
Service was pretty pathetic. Server had no interest in us or our needs. However the food was prepared well. Fresh and tasty.
Our server was distracted. She forgot to bring part of our order and couldn't remember who ordered which dish that did arrive.
Food is great as always. Waitresses seem to be unfriendly and rude though everytime we go to Hiko -A-Mon and that is our only complaint
