The place was packed, but the service and food were stellar.

We had a great time at the Highway1 Brewery. We introduced a group of friends (8 adults) who like beer to this place. Everyone enjoyed the place, trying the beers and were impressed with the food. We will definitely come back. The view of the ocean is also a plus. Good Job. We were also there for the fall festival with the bands in the back. Please keep doing those.

In summary, love the location, love the beer, thought the food was ok. It is a neat place, the brewery being in the back and it makes for a great stop to enjoy a nice local beer. The food was quite tasty, however these are very small portions. The Hop Fried Chicken is nice, but you will get lots of coleslaw, good fries and a little bit of chicken. Same with the Shrimp skewers. Very good taste, but they come with a bunch of coleslaw and it really requires something else to make it into a meal.

We came here with a large group of 24 and they were very accommodating. They had a good selection and the kids were happy. The food and beer however, was so-so. The greens on my Asian chicken salad were good, but the chicken on top was sort of grey-looking, tasted like it had been boiled and i pushed it off to the side. My husband's hamburger was kind of funky as well, way too salty and thin. Overall, i think they don't use the highest quality ingredients and it is evident in the final product. I appreciated the good service but would probably not go back because the food was sub-par.

We ate in the dining room vs the brewery room. The dining room was not air conditioned and somewhat uncomfortable. We moved away from the front window fur to the heat. I had the curry bowl - a mistake. I should have stuck with a burger. The curry was more like a soup with a few veggies and some rice, I asked the waitress if this was typical. She didn't think so and offered a separate plate of rice so that I could "recreate" the dish. In all it was not worth the $13.95 price. Maybe the brewery would have made for a better experience, but I will not return.

Tried the hop fried chicken and was not disappointed! Flavor and texture was wonderful and it went down well with the French Mexican War. I would love to come back for brunch sometime.
