Glad Highlawn Pavilion is back in business! We had a very nice dinner there for our son's college graduation celebration!
Everything was delicious! The view was beautiful!
My wife and I were so Happy that the Highlawn reopened it so gave us a sense of normalcy and to see all the friendly faces - managers and staff
Thank You so much
Always a great meal. A bit disappointed with the limited menu but understandable given the limited number of guests.
Everyone is happily went home everything is good from the people to the venue very satisfied thank you
The Highlawn experience was excellent as always, hindered only by the idiotic Covid constrictions instituted by ignorant power-mad NJ government. It's a shame that many restaurants will go under because of the ridiculous 25% occupancy limit and totally unscientific symbolism of wearing a mask until seated--where the essential HVAC that comforts diners distributes their exhalations with everyone else regardless of social distancing. The Highlawn made the most of their superb limited menu, while the bar service and wine list remain unscathed. We dined with extreme pleasure and evaded the Coronavirus despite removing our masks and enjoying the tastes and aromas prepared by expert staff, and so can you.
The Highlawn Pavilion has reopened. And it's a great experience. I lowered my rating slightly because they have a limited menu right now, not your typical full bodied selection, but more like an expanded daily specials menu. The choice are limited buy quite well though out, and all prepared to their usual excellence for this place. The outdoor patio area is spacious and was comfortable until it got a little chillier as he night went on. Even now wit Covid it's a good place to try if you're looking for fine dining and a well thought out layout for social distancing. The inside dining areas are very spacious and the staff is all about distance and masks. Worth a try.
The Highlawn never fails to impress. They have just opened up but the professionals and the Chef are still the best at what they do. The presentation, the personalization was still provided in their best format. Love the ambiance, the kindness. We'll be going even more often! Needless to say, I am a fan!
Lovely place and great food. The service and the view are the best ! My husband and I are in love with this place, it’s our favorite.
We love the Highlawn. We missed it since it closed in March and just reopened. Saturday night was a great dinner outside on their patio. Yes it was quite chilly because it was windy. They do have heat lamps.
The 4 of us loved our food. Small menu right now but good choices on the menu. Excellent service.
We are glad they are back.
As compared to other top restaurants in northern NJ, it's too expensive. An entree is served without the usually included salad, almost too little food. Bread was very hard, not easy to chew. Perhaps it needs to be warmed up.
Although the view is panoramic, New York City skyline is almost 20 miles away, a little difficult to see. The view from Edgewater, Weehawken or Jersey City can be quite competitive.
It's great to be able to return to the Highlawn .
Nice to be back. I felt some of the patio tables were too close for comfort, and almost all filled. Prices seemed higher and the limited food choices were not items i would have wanted otherwise.
But nice to see it back in operation.
Nice but expensive.
Restaurant was closed though we got a confirmation from OpenTable.
Restaurant is closed .. reservation should not be allowed if it’s closed
This restaurant is closed and has been for a while. We were excited to get up there to dine and watch the full moon rise over the city. Not sure how it ended up still on open table.
Top notch restaurant food and service and view
Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday as it was recommended to me from a coworker. I was expecting a lot from this as I was told the menu is pricey but there was a great view of the city. Unfortunately I wasn’t seated in the best table with a view, but I can’t complain. I still was able to see the city because the restaurant had tall windows. We came here for dinner during the winter time so the outside patio wasn’t open which would have been nice if I wanted to take photos.
The food was okay. Wouldn’t say it’s worth the price. There was nothing really to rave about the menu. They had steaks and fish and other basic entrees but there was really little left to be desired. Wish there was more creativity with the menu options.
The service was great. Really made up for the okay food. The host sat us at our table. He was also kind enough to pull out my chair and place my jacket on my seat for me. Our waitress was also wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations. She stopped by our table a few times to check up on us and always was in good spirits.
I would definitely come back but maybe when the weather is warmer and not on a weekend when it’s super busy and noisy.
Lovely meal. Service was solicitous and impeccable. Server knew his wine. Food delicious and beautifully plated. View of NYC delightful.
Food and service was excellent
The view is beautiful but we were a little disappointed with the menu. Only 2 entree specials and the regular menu changed also. Not much of a selection.
Many people go for the view as well as the food and service. The night we were there was very foggy tho some lights did shine through. But the view was not important - everything was perfect. And if we wanted something not on the menu, the waiter assured us it was no problem and it came out perfectly and quickly. All four of us enjoyed. It was an anniversary and birthday dinner; perfectly celebrated
Very nice, my wife enjoyed herself
Excellent food, careful service and lovely scenery made for a great meal.
Went for a business luncheon.
Excellent food, service and view. Perfection!
Experience not commensurate with price. Nice view though.
Dinner was delicious but the desserts need major improvement. Far too much sugar, couldn’t even eat much of it.
One of our most favorite places. Besides the excellent food, the most friendly and accommodating staff.
Such a great time
Since the Manor does not function as a restaurant any more, we decided to eat at the Highlawn Pavilion which is owned by the same family. Well, it does not live up to what the Manor was. It does not have the ambiance, the class the Manor had. And the food was not at par with what the Manor served. We lost a good one when the Manor stopped the rtestaurant and only does catering. A big loss.
An all-time favorite. Brings back memories of our wedding reception 32 years ago. The food, the staff, the view - exceptional. A destination for us when we come back to Jersey.
One of my favorite restaurants and it’s around the corner from home. Love it 😎
It was my moms birthday. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If it wasn’t the professionalisms and pride that impressed me - then it was the care in preparation and attention to detail that did! Everything. Impressed me.
Thank you so much.
Was there for lunch. The food, service and ambiance exceptional. Highly recommend for a different, elegant dining experience!
Classy place from start to finish. Service professional. Food was on point.
Sunday night of the Memorial Day Week-end so it was very quiet. We had a great view looking out to New York City and the food was very good and fairly priced. Waitstaff was also very attentive and pleasant.
Food is always delicious in High Lawn Pavilion. Attentive service. The Views on a clear day / night are spectacular. The only minus is the decor: tired, old fashioned. But to some maybe it's part of the charm
We will go back for sure
Went for my husband’s birthday. This was our first visit and we were seated at the window to enjoy the fantastic view of the NYC line. Great service. A bit noisy but much more relaxed than what we were expecting. Will definitely return. Food was excellent.
