High Velocity - Indianapolis
Food was simply mediocre. It’s basic. Had a Caesar salad with steak. Was a huge portion of lettuce and minuscule portion of steak. Don’t expect anything very flavorful.
Same as service
Would not recommend or go back
The restaurant was great as always. Lia was an excellent server and took very good care of us. My only negative is the parking. The is the second time I had issues with getting out of the parking lot. Lia validated my ticket but when I tried to leave the lot, it demanded $34. I called for assistance and tried to explain that I had just left the restaurant and had a validated ticket but I couldn't understand what the person was trying to tell me. I ended up paying the $34 for parking because I was holding up the line of cars leaving. My friends were in a vehicle behind me. They had the same issue and called for assistance as well. They were able to exit the parking garage with their validated ticket. This happened to me the last time I was at High Velocity, earlier in the Colts season. Not sure what I am doing wrong
Benjamin, I'm sorry to hear that you experienced issues leaving the parking garage after you recent dining experience. Please feel free to ask for me personally on your next visit so we can remedy this. Thank you for the business and the kind review. I will pass along your compliments to your server. Warm regards, Ross Highley General Manager (317)860-6500
Consistently a great choice when near the Marriott campus in Indianapolis. An observation: the menu changes frequently. Maybe the corporate office is constantly upgrading and keeping favorites and eliminating those items never selected. Bring back the crab cake salad that you had when you opened.
Thank you for the great feedback. We appreciate your continued business and loyalty going all the way back to our opening. I will pass along your suggestion to the rest of our team. Please feel free to contact me directly if there is ever anything I can do to make your experience even better. Warm regards, Ross Highley General Manager (317)860-6500
A fun Christmas Eve tradition but the JW Marriott premium pricing makes it a so-so value.
We appreciate you spending your Christmas Eve at High Velocity. Please contact me directly if there is anything we can do to make your next visit even better. Warm regards, Ross Highley General Manager (317)860-6500
Just wasn’t a place I enjoyed, something was off with the atmosphere.
Very disappointed- only reason we returned was manager gave us a 20 percent off coupon because service was poor on previous visit. Nothing improved this trip- after 20 plus minutes we had to ask a hostess if she could find our waitress so we could order- Taylor finally returned to take our order- food was good.
Prices have really gone up at this restaurant and menu has deteriorated.
Tables next to us that had the same waitress experienced the same problems as we did getting their orders taken.
This restaurant used to be standing room only on a Colts or Indians game but now is maybe 50% full- hotel management needs to make some changes
We eat here before every Home Colt game. Would like a breakfast burrito or pizza as an option. The chicken sandwich needs a bun not bread. Wait staff are wonderful and so is front end staff . Look forward to next season.
We went for lunch before the Colts game. One would think that this restaurant would be prepared to serve the morning of a football game, but they were not prepared at all. The food was great! We got nachos, quesadillas, and chicken tenders to share amongst the table. We had to ask for small plates to serve onto and that took about 20 minutes. The service was awful and there was an excuse for everything. Even the table next to us was obviously receiving poor service. If you are going to pay that much for food and drinks at a bar-type restaurant, then you really expect better care and service. I would probably choose to go to another establishment on game day.
Very slow service
Had a table ready for 8 people at the reserved time. We went there before the lunch crowd and they had the many TVs turned down so we could converse. Very helpful and efficient service staff. Great food.
Garrett, Thank you for taking the time to leave us such great review. We appreciate your business and home to see you back at High Velocity again soon. Warm regards, Ross Highley General Manager
Food is good and reasonably priced. Came out slow. Our service was good otherwise. We sat at a table with a Television, so we could chose the sports we wanted to watch.
With plenty of servers, they need to add service to the high tables and booths in the bar area. We had young a group who didn't mind walking to the bar. An older group in a booth left because of no service.
The food was ok, nothing special about it. The ambiance is good but the service was very slow. We’ve been here a couple times and that’s what stands out the most...slow service.
Good food after a long day of travel is always good in my book.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate the feedback and your business. We are glad to see that you had a great visit and hope to see you again on your next trip. Warm regards, Ross Highley General Manager
Food was ok if not a bit bland, service was a bit slow even on a slow night. Prices high but as you’d expect for a hotel restaurant. Atmosphere cool, tv’s everywhere. Convenient if you’re a hotel guest.
Cara, I'm sorry to see that your weren't completely happy with your dining experience. Please contact me directly so I can correct this situation for you. Warm regards, Ross Highley General Manager (317)860-6500
The food was just ok. The service was slow. It was a bad choice to take customers to because of the noise. Had to shout to hear each other
2 for one appetizer and a good selection of wines made our meeting fun.We also were able to keep an eye on the sports on the many TVs
First they acted like they didn't have the reservation. I had the chicken wrap and it was just ok. A friend had to ask three times for a to go box. Wait staff was not too friendly. It might have just been too busy at that time but I won't be making a special trip there.
Its a sports bar full stop good food and prices for its location, the service was lack luster but that is unique to your server so good luck on that front.
The manager should be let go. A place as exceptional as High Velocity should have an exceptional manager.
We do enjoy the convenience of HV being close to events and the food is good. However, I think it is ridiculous to charge $4.00 for a Pepsi!!!
I really want to like this place but it continues to speed downhill. Our server was very friendly and personalble. Drinks from bar took 10-15 minutes after placing order, a simple Bud Light. Chicken tenders were good but served just barely warm. Our order of fries was sent back after we determined that they were still raw, under-cooked. Overall, it continues to disappoint. This used to be our “go to “ place during the Indians season, 8-10 times a summer. We thinking we may start looking for a new place for ourpre-game meal.
Our service was fantastic and attentive. The food was good and interesting. Not everyone was totally pleased with their food, but there's always one in a crowd. A nice affordable option at the JW.
Had a party of 7. One meal was completely forgotten, had to ask for it twice. It was “comp’d” but it ruined the meal experience. Sides are expensive, $5 for chips ? Asked for the fish tacos but without jalapeño, got fish in a tortilla with nothing else. Overall, not a good experience.
It was busy there on a Saturday evening and there were five of us, but our server was excellent. The food was delivered fresh and hot, I had the turkey burger someone had a regular burger, another friend had the salmon which was very fresh. The quesadilla was also excellent. Highly recommend!
Had seven people total for casual business meal before the Indians game. Friendly greeting and quickly got our table. Great service for food and drinks. Food was excellent. Will certainly be back!
The service was excellent. The food was good (not great), but was over-priced. However, it is a hotel restaurant. The ambiance was great and the location to Victory Field can't be beat.
Delicious food that came out hot and fresh. Very generous on the portions. The Reuben was amazing.
We were there during a large convention event and it was very crowded. Our order took quite some time to arrive. So when it came, my husband had an item on his salad that he had asked to be omitted. My husband decided to keep it rather than have it taken back and corrected when our server noticed it. Without any prompting, our spoke to the manager about it and came back with a voucher for our troubles! She was great.
Other than that, the food was pretty good!
The waiter brought a bottle of wine and didn’t even pour in our glasses. For being a JW Marriott hotel
Restaurant, I would expect more attention to these finer details
Food was good and after we finally got served, service was very good. There was a convention in town and a lot of the attendees were in the bar at the same time that we were there. They were very loud and many standing around our table. I wish we would have asked to be seated in a different location.
Server was very pleasant & friendly. Our food was good, didn’t take long to receive it after we ordered. Very good selection of craft, micro-brews.
Worse time we ever had here & I'll blame management for being extremely short-staffed. Server tried his best but appeared to being assigned too many tables to provide good service. Food when it finally arrived, sliders were warm with unmelted cheese, French fries were too cold to eat. We had a 5:45 reservation and just barely made the start of the Indians game at 7 pm. Overall, not a good experience.
Alana was a vibrant waiteress who made worhty suggestions as to my meal chioces nad was very prompt in taking care of my requests.
We had 6 in our party and everyone was quite happy with their dishes, well prepared and tasty. Have a look at the menu. If this is what you are looking for you will not be disappointed.
Great lunch. I was able to add grilled shrimp to the salmon plate. The sweet potato fries were very tasty as well
This was a great spot to meet up with family in town for a conference. Everyone had a great meal and the service was excellent.
High Velocity was chosen by my nephew for his celebratory meal after meeting the Archbishop in Indianapolis. Our server was great but the food was mediocre. I had the pot roast plate which had good flavor but was a little dry. My son had the fish and chips plate but the fish was undercooked. My nephew had the chicken blt wrap and he enjoyed that with no complaints. Their best friend had the sliders. He said they were great and had no complaints either. We did have the most decadent dessert that made the whole food experience worth it. A chocolate chip cookie dough waffle with ice cream, marshmallow fluff, chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup, and whip cream. It was so big we just ordered it with four spoons and was enough to fill us all up. The server had our meal comped for the underdone fish. Because we had our parking validated we didn’t have to pay $24 to park in the garage. I’d recommend this restaurant because our server was really great and the food wasn’t that bad.
Great place to watch TV while you eat. Watched Pacers game from the booth
