High Street Caffe & Vudu Lounge Ratings and Reviews
The food was very good. I started off having a portabella mushroom stuffed with crab cake that was yummy. Then I moved on to the Shrimp + Crawfish Entoufee which was also very good. I was impressed by the large portion and the size of the shrimp. The atmosphere was very nice and worked well for a romantic date (this was on a weeknight). Finally, I liked the selection of beers on tap. I would recommend this cafe for Cajun Food Cravers.
Great restaurant but haven’t been there for years. Forgot they were no longer byob and opened a beer. The waiter essentially ripped it off the table as soon as it was opened and took it away like I was a teenager. Food was great, but very noisy due to small space. Not happy with waiter and his service wasn’t the best, luckily others were helping him out. Not sure if I’ll return.
Highly Recommend Vudu/High Street Cafe! Food is delicious and I am not one for spicy food, which they accommodate how your food is made. The blackened scallops were out of this world. Service was a tad slow but otherwise a great hidden WC spot outside of town.
Great time with my girlfriend for her birthday, she loves the spot. Alligator was good could be better chunks of it then again we're not in Florida so I can't complain. Server was awesome I think its marnie or mardy I forget but she was great! Entrees were perfect, short rib portion was unreal seemed like it was close to 14oz perfect presentation looking like a savory piece of chocolate cake that just damn near melted apart. NY strip steak rare, awesome. Tip my hat to the Chef. Def get the cheesecake and habinero crembrule. I work in the service industry and I had the best experience being served here. Thankyou.
Resident of the boro for several years. We used to go to High Street Café several times a year now only once or twice mainly because of price for value. Food is good Cajun food but entre prices are high for what you get as compared to other hot spots like Limoncello.
Ambience was good. Cool vibe. The wait for table was 25 mins even though we had reservations via Open Table. Food took another 45-50 mins to get appetizers. When apps did arrive they were over-cooked and dried out. Very disappointing as we typically have a good experience at this venue. Not this time.
Went on a Sunday night with several friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
TI love the food and variety they offer and it's easy to share an entree if you are not big eaters. One of the few authentic New Orleans restaurants in the burbs. Always have to finish the meal of with banana's foster :) Will be back again.
This was not our best time at High Street Caffe. The service was very slow - it took over 20 minutes to get our drinks and the waitress never even offered to open let alone pour our wine. I got my standard cashew chicken/bourbon shrimp entree but it was much spicier than usual. I hardly ate any and when I told the waitress, she offered nothing to try to resolve it. Very disappointing. On a positive note, our soup and chocolate mousse were fabulous as is the norm. Overall though the meal was disappointing. Maybe they've got someone new in the kitchen and/or managing the place, but it was not up to its usual great experience!
High Street Caffe continues to be one of my favorite restaurants. Fantastic food, cozy but lively atmosphere and just an all around great experience here every time I go. Try the coconut shrimp and the bananas foster! But everything I’ve ever had here has been excellent.
My wife and I have frequented This place numerous times, this time as a "Date Night" and have never been disappointed. The level of spice in the dishes is spot on but if you wish they have siracha sauce or their own secret blend called Vudu sauce if you want to kick it up a notch. I like Tabasco but they do not carry it. Looking forward to our next visit.
High Street has been a family favorite restaurant for many years. It is always my son's choice for his birthday dinner. The food is unique and delicious. The servers are informative, knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely friendly. High Street never disappoints us.
High street cafe never disappoints! We went for my husband's birthday. The food is outstanding and there is something on the menu for everyone. The service is great. Our waitress was attentive but not overbearing and there are servers filling up your water and removing dirty plates promptly. The only downside is lack of parking but you can find a spot 2-3 blocks away in the surrounding neighborhood.
