A 3-person party with reservations should not have to sit in the bar with the high noise level and television screens. But, if you are in the bar, you shouldn’t have to wait 20 minutes for a drink to arrive! For d was good, but service was atrocious: long wait for drinks, with no acknowledgement from server; steaks delivered barely 5 minutes after salads; we had to request steak knives and wait for them to arrive. Additionally, when you inform a restaurant that you’re celebrating a birthday, there’s usually something offered to the birthday person. This was an extremely disappointing meal.
Very Good service but extremely expensive for mediocre food. 11oz Filet mignon was very good but prime rib and rib eye steaks were very fatty and lacked the flavor they should bring. Side dishes were overcooked and salty. Loud atmosphere as well. Definitely will not be going back or recommending to anyone.
Really good food and excellent, personable service.
Normally would recommend for good food and good service, this last visit was honestly the worst yet. Food was not good service wasn’t great. Very disappointed. Most likely be a while before I try it again!!
Wagyu beef is the most amazing beef we have ever had. So worth the price. Lego my wagyu....
Antonio was our server and gave us an excellent experience for our son’s birthday. The steak was a little over cooked but that was not the servers fault.
Great food, wonderful staff, quiet venue. Tuesday night special is prime rib that is so good at a great price. Staff has always been so helpful with their suggestions.
Second time there. Great food and service
Our waiter Michael was exceptional. Food was fantastic. A truly lovely experience for my fathers 85th birthday dinner!
For the price that you pay, $59 for a 22 oz bone in Rib Eye and $54 for a 20oz New York, the quality of meat wasn't great. You would expect for melt in your mouth type steak and this wasn't it. Better off paying these prices at Firehouse or Ruth's Chris. The service and the sides were good, but the steaks weren't worth what we paid for, Also my wife ordered hers medium rare and it came out medium.
Service was fantastic. Portions small for price. Food was very good.
The waiter was great, we ordered the fillet medium, and they were pretty charred on top. For being a $46 fillet, it was not what I expected. Fortunately, it was a comped meal, otherwise I would have complained.
The service was excellent and the food was even better ..the meat was the best we had in a very long time
I wasn’t told the steak I ordered would be seared to the point of being way to chewy. If I’d known I would have asked for it not to be seared at all. I’ve had better for a lot less elsewhere
As alway, happy hour in the bar was excellent. Great food and wines😀
IF I WANTED TO SIT IN THE BAR AREA I WOULD NOT NEED RESERVATIONS. NEVER AGAIN IN THE BAR UNLESS IT IS HAPPY HOUR WITH REDUCED PRICES. WAY, WAY, WAY TO NOISY!
What a great way to ruin a romantic anniversary dinner.
The food as usual was excellent except that I HATED the GARLIC sauce on the steak that was not indicated on the menu. What a great way to ruin the food!!!
Service was so-so. We have had better at High Steaks.
It will be awhile before I pay those prices for noisy bar atmosphere, unwanted GARLIC, and so-so service!
My family and I enjoyed every part of our dining experience at High Steaks! The service was friendly and the food was perfect. This was our third time celebrating a birthday with family here and we all agreed to return for the next one!
Food was terrific, service was exceptional. We will definitely come back!
First time there. Made reservations and was given worst table in the house. Table was located near the kitchen where waiters come in and out. Waiters passed trays of food right over my husbands head. Door to restaurant in back was left open and let cold air come in to effect our food. Lamb chops I ordered were fatty and tough. My husbands swordfish was over cooked making it dry. My brother inlaws filet mignon was wrapped in bacon making it too salty.
For the price, not worth eating there. Will not be going back and do not recommend.
Great food and great service
Smell of cigarettes nauseated both of us. They need to close the doors to the casino. Even the staff agreed! Just the rib eye steak cost $56 and could hardly cut it with steak knife. I've been told it's not like that on week nights but won't go back to find out.
Great Food, Great Service and drinks are priced where they should be. Way better than our last meal at Mortin's. We will be back!!
While advertised as Fine Dining, this place has a loud and ntrusive atmosphere, similar to that of a bowling alley. The tables were as crowded together as a Denny’s. The clientele obviously didn’t know anything about proper attire for Fine Dining, either.
A huge tv was elevated over the bar and was showing an NBA game that nobody watched. The TV shot straight into our faces. Very classy.
In my Open Table reservation, I had requested for my wife a simple chocolate dessert to be served as a surprise for her birthday. Nothing was served nor was it on the bill. Perhaps the staff was distracted by the NBA game.
We ate as quickly as such would be healthy.
Not to return. Ever.
Always a great experience. Delectable food & ambience. The service by Management Jenkins is always exceptional. Staff is outstanding. You'll never be disappointed.
Service was very bad. We waited almost 40 minutes to order. And waited almost 30 minutes more. We went several times . This time so bad.
I am hoping to get better service next time.
I would consider replacing toffee with a soft chocolate or not give out toffee. Toffee sticks to teeth, implants, dentures, braces, etc. once the toffee sticks to your teeth, one forgets about the wonderful food and service experience and shift attention to protecting ones teeth.
Fantastic food and great service. Bacon wrapped shrimp are delicious and the steaks melt in your mouth.
Food was good but not great. Our steak had a odd flavor not to our liking
The steaks (New York and Filet) were everything we had hoped for. We are big Chicago beef fans, and that what we got here. Just the best cuts, and prepared perfectly. The shrimp skewers and shrimp appetizers were delicious as well. We had the wedge salad--big enough for two people and loaded with bacon. We also ordered garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli--they were a la carte, which made the meal more expensive--and they were very tasty. Get the garlic cilantro steak topping. It's served on the side and it's amazing. We liked it better than the red wine sauce, which is also good.
I had the Lady Luck martini and loved it. Warning: it's potent and it's very sweet (but I like that). The ice tea is served with ice cubes made of tea, so it never gets watered down. My tea connoisseur husband proclaimed it perfect.
Service is very good. Everyone was very professional and friendly. The servers know how to serve and remove plates with style. It's all done at a leisurely pace so don't expect fast service. Never fear, though--water glasses and bread bowls are kept full while you wait. And it's a very pleasant place to just relax, with (real) candles and a nice modern/traditional mix of decor. You can barely hear the casino just outside
If you love steak and a lovely dining experience, go! Expensive but worth it.
Food is good but be sure to read the menu/prices before you go. Side dishes are big enough for sharing (for the most part); beef was cooked as instructed and has very good flavor. My only negative is that we had to walk through the smoke filled casino to get to the restaurant.
We’ve been coming to High Steaks long before it was called High Steaks. The food quality has always been superb. Until this visit. The prime rib was over cooked, tough, and stringy. Sent it back for a different cut of prime rib. The new piece arrived nearly raw. Still tough. On a happier note the filet was terrific!!
Mike is a great waiter and provides excellent service always. Good is consistently amazing...
We always have great service and great food. My one and only complaint is the tables are pretty large, so you are sitting at a distance from your table mate. The noise level can get quite loud, so it’s hard to have a conversation when you feel like you have to talk so loudly.
The food was good and our server was very friendly and attentive. Denifintely would recommend.
Wonderful service and food! One of out favorites to go when we are in town! Love the causal to chic dress code!
Loved the staff, very accommodating..
Beautiful restaurant and an excellent spot to celebrate my Birthday
Birthday Dinner celebration for the first time at High Steaks. Excellent service and the food portions were generous and they really treated us well and let us take our time there to enjoy and celebrate with our friends. We were there for about 4.5 hours but there was never anyone rushing us out. We will definitely be back during the week day to try some specials that weren't offered on the holiday weekend.
