High Steaks was the perfect night out for my Mom's Birthday Dinner! The atmosphere was quite and warm. Our server Ronnette was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed from start to finish, five star service at its best. Our table had the Prime Rib and Lamb Chops which both were cooked to our likings and the flavors were exactly what we were looking for. We ended our evening with Apple Cheesecake that was incredible. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you High Steaks Team for a great night to remember!!

We went for Thanksgiving dinner. It was $80 per person which is acceptable at a fine dining IF the meal is worth it. The Thanksgiving meal was definitely not worth $80pp; wasn’t really worth $30pp. We were so disappointed and felt like we got robbed. We had debated High Stakes vs Thunder Cafe and wish we would have chosen Thunder Cafe.

Food was pretty good, and the service was nice and friendly, but the host never came to get us from the bar for our reservation and everyone seemed to be confused about what was going on. We were sat next to a large party so it was really loud and our server wasn't around much most of our service was from his helper or busser.

We dined here once a couple of years ago and it was very nice. This time was pretty disappointing. We ordered seafood for appetizers and it just didn’t taste fresh. The oysters hadn’t been cleaned very well. The shrimp scampi was dry and spongy, so bad we sent it back. The steaks were OK, really not worth the price. The alcohol was ridiculously expensive. Overall it was pretty disappointing. For $200 for 2 people, I expected more. Service was excellent, but just didn’t make up for the food. Will not return.

Let's face it, just because you put good food and probably the best food in Thunder Valley in front of people, they will not pay these exorbitant prices. A medium size12 oz filet mignon at $51 with no accompanying side dishes is not impressive and of little overall value to many people. I will not be back and believe me I have the money to spend but I'm looking at overall value and this is not it.

Once again, a delightful dining experience. Our go-to place for fine dining and never any exceptions to that. Tristan was an excellent waiter, taking care of our every need. Our guests were family from New Zealand, who travel extensively around the world, and they were equally delighted. Thanks to all for making this a most pleasant dining experience.

Mother-Daughter annual birthday celebration at High Steaks. We look forward to it every year. We came early and sat in a booth by the bar. Not noisy at all. Anthony our wait staff is top notch! I'd hire him for any white glove events! Perfect personality, attentive, etc. He checks off all the boxes on quality service. Mother loved her lobster soup and herb breast chicken. I love, love my NY steak. Cooked perfectly medium well. Thanks for a great evening, and see you next year!!

My aunt took me here for my birthday and the best lobster tail in town. I didn't tell her but it wasn't my favorite. All the other food we ordered, the steak, scallops, salad, Scallop potatoes and Mac and cheese, were fantastic and our server was wonderful. I would never order the Lobster again, nor would I recommend it. The last time I had Lobster was at Scoma's in Sausalito, CA. This was not even close. I did let my aunt think it was the best birthday dinner I had ever had. I would come back but not for the lobster.

Asked for booth seating if possible. Seated at a regular table with no one commenting on my table preference that I requested on OpenTable. I also listed this was a special occasion and no one mentioned that either. Obviously, they didn't even read anything on the reservation.

Amazing food. As fine or finer than any fine dining restaurant in all of Sacramento. Hard to believe it is inside a casino. Nice that one can enter the restaurant from the outside and not have to enter the smokey casino. Restaurant is not smokey. The service is excellent and the food the best !!!!

We are regular customers and I’ve never had a negative experience before. This doesn’t really classify as negative but it wasn’t the delightful experience that we usually have. We had reservations but had to wait for a bit. Then we were seated in a table directly by the entrance. Cramped and noisy. Our waiter was very nice but others that served us were grumpy. Our tablecloth had stains and my wineglass was very dirty. I guess I’ve come to enjoy their high standards so much that I was disappointed when they weren’t achieved on this visit.

Our first dining experience here won't be our last. From the first moment that we sat down until we left, our experience couldn't have been better. The food was exceptional (rib eye steak and pork chop entrees). The lobster soup was delicious and chopped salad also. The fresh baked breads offered were varied and tasty. The coffee was robust and fresh. Our waiter Stefano was the best, very gracious, knowledgeable and accommodating (as were all the restaurant serving staff). It was overall a very enjoyable evening - just what we were hoping for, even though it was an early Monday evening reservation.
The only negative was the receptionist. When we approached her, we gave her our name and reservation time, she asked us if we would agree to be seated at the bar. We told her no, that we didn't drink alcohol and were looking forward to a quiet dining experience. She said "well I just asked because we have tables to fill for our quota at the bar". That put a damper on our enthusiasm and was offputting to say the least. We didn't make a reservation to eat in a high end steak house, to be banished to the bar!I
As a POI, I used to work at Thunder Valley as the PBX Manager (of what is now the Call Center), who followed Vivian Howard, before the hotel was completed, and had eaten at Austin Steakhouse. I didn't think Austin's could be beat, but I was wrong. We will make another trip to dine at High Steaks again.

Food was just OK. The Onion Soup was good. The fried chicken was a bit too well done. Salmon was good. The food was a little cold. Service was OK. The place needs to refocus on the customer. The pricing is premium, but the service and food are a bit lacking.

Our anniversary, asked for a quiet booth away from the bar. Apparently part of the restaurant seating area was closed. We ended up being seated in a booth very close to the bar. And it was during happy hour so the noise level was high. Service was acceptable but not consistent with the service we received previously in the closed section.

It is great for special occasions.
We both went for the steaks Which we had before but at the last minute I switch to the prime rib. Should’ve stuck to my original plan my wife steak was great but my prime rib was so so.
As usual the service was fantastic

We tried High Steaks for my husband’s birthday. The meal was decent but for the same expensive pricing, Ruth’s Chris or Morton’s are FAR better in high level service, quality of food, and presentation. Another downside is that you have to walk through the huge, cigarette smoke filled casino to get to the restaurant. I would not go back.

Could be great for special occasion meal. The filet mignon was perfect. The bison was tougher than I hoped for, but that is the nature of bison, I assume. The garlic mash potatoes were spectacular.

Lobster chowder tasted like smokie bacon not lobster. This was the only bad food item we had. Every thang else was great!
