High Hampton Inn Ratings and Reviews
Everything was great. Only disappointment, although I had made the reservation via OpenTable the restaurant did not have my reservation. I had seven people and was nervous at first, showed my confirmation on my phone. In the end, we were seated promptly and all was well. We all enjoyed the food and service. Great place to take houseguests for Sunday Southern style brunch. Jim Sweat
Overall, tasty seafood buffet and my favorite dish was chicken marsala - not seafood. My guests were unimpressed with steamed mussels but loved breaded shrimp. Great service and setting. My only regret was not arriving early enough to linger much longer at the cocktail lounge. The pianist was quite enjoyable!
We visit High Hampton Inn while on vacation at least twice each summer for their Sunday Lunch/Brunch. Great Salad Bar, the Best Fried Chicken and great Dessert Bar. Oh, and I can't forget the "Build Your Own Bloody Mary" Bar! Fabulous old Inn with amazing grounds and Old Time Charm. Don't miss if you are visiting the area!
The High Hampton Inn is a historic family summer resort dating from the early 20th century. It has a huge dining room serving buffet meals. This restaurant is open to the public with reservations suggested. Evening meals require men to wear coats and there is a dress code for women. There is one price per meal which includes soup to dessert including tax and gratuity for less than $20 at lunch. The menu changes every day and is delicious. Service is friendly and courteous. Don't miss this.
Dining at the High Hampton Inn , Cashiers NC, is like stepping back in time and going to your grandmother's house for Sunday dinner. The food is delicious and plentiful! All meals are served buffet style. Fresh locally grown vegetables and produce are used when available. The breads and deserts are homemade . Don't fill up at the huge salad bar, the best is yet to come! Fried Chichen is my favorite. High Hampton Inn is the best place to enjoy a true mountain experience!
We live in Highlands, NC half the year and we make it a special treat to dine and relax at High Hampton many times during the season. Their food is delicious, and the ambiance cannot be beat, also the staff and servers are the best. This time, I found that the wonderful lady, Sony, who always made our visit special, has retired and though we missed her this time, we are very happy that she now has time to relax after making visits to High Hampton memorable. Truly the ultimate Southern Experience.
Thanks for our wonderful experiences.
They do a fantastic buffet lunch here. The food is classic Southern dishes and the desserts...holy cow! I think I had six of them! If you're coming from church in the summer, you might want to change clothes first. Remember, it's rustic and there's no AC!
High Hampton Inn is our favorite restaurant in Cashiers. The "old school" dress code for dinner is refreshing and reflects the charm of the wonderful old Inn with its beautiful grounds. The atmosphere make you feel like you've gone back in time.
The food is served buffet style and everything is absolutely delicious, from the soup --- to the salad --- to the entrees and sides --- to the deserts. The menu stays pretty much the same for each day of the week, year after year. Every night has a different cuisine with 3 main entrees.
Eating at High Hampton Inn is always one of the highlights of our yearly visit to Cashiers.
It was our first visit. I was a bit disappointed that the menu was not according to the post on the website. I was looking forward to chicken Wellington and fish that was posted that was other than the Salmon that was served.
Service was warm!!hostess was good! Desserts were great!! Ice cream was good too. (9 different kinds!)
I imagine we will go back (we live 5 months in Franklin now).
For brunch and again for dinner
But it was not as wonderful as I imagined and I believe they should be on their toes with the quality of food
And serve what is posted. It was my husbands Birthday too.
All meals at High Hampton are served buffet style. While some folks may not prefer this method of service, when you have a hungry crowd...this is the only way to go. Everyone can get exactly what they want and fast. Lots of fresh salad fixings, soup, hot entrees and desserts. The dining room makes you feel like you have stepped back in time to a simpler time.....on this occasion we were seated overlooking the lake and Rock Mountain. It was delightful!
High Hampton is a great spot for lunch but probably most folks in Cashiers don't think of High Hampton as an eating destination because it is a well know Inn. All the meals are served buffet style, so you can find something for everyone. There is a full salad bar and soup station. The salad was fresh and crisp. The hot entrees were varied, fish, veggies and pasta. The desserts are made in house and very good! Sue who greets you at the door was very friendly and upbeat. Bianca, our server kept our tea and water filled. Male guests are required to wear a jacket for dinner...so we tend to enjoy breakfast and lunch more than dinner. So bypass the crowded Cornacopia and not so clean BBQ place and think about High Hampton.
