Hideaway Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Usually this restaurant is great. However, during our visit several things occurred that were unacceptable. Early on my wife was hit in the head with a drink platter. Although the waitress apologized, management never came to check on her. Also, or server was slow and made limited visits. Several people arrived after us, recieved drinks, bread and their order well before we did. We were never even asked if we wanted bread nor was it ever brought to the table. I ordered the filet mignon and so did my wife. Mine was undercooked, hers overcooked. The baby carrots weren't cooked at all and were extremely hard. Unfortunately we've had much better experiences here and will probably take our business to an established large company like The Chophouse from now on. The price is comparable and I've never had a bad meal or experience there.
We really liked the place a couple of years ago and were excited to revisit.
This time we were not impressed and will not go back.
I ordered a $15 drink (signature drink off the menu), but was charged $28.
I didn't mention it to the server because at that pt we just wanted to leave.
I love the Hideaway! This is my second time going and it still impresses me! Everyone was so professional and nice. I loved how the manager asked how everything was. Everything was cooked to perfection! Our waiter was amazing as well as the bus boy, our glasses were never empty! I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a pricey but romantic date!
Excellent spot for our business dinner. Good food and wine with attentive service. Food was delivered quickly and excellent quality. Room was not too dark that you could not see and noise level was sufficient so that you could have a private discussion without having to speak too loud or soft.
This was my second visit to Hideaway and just as the last visit we were not disappointed. This is a great place for a date, anniversary or business dinner. Great relaxed atmosphere for conversation with impeccable dining, drinks and service. We’ll be back soon!
I was disappointed in the restaurant's failure to honor their advertising. The menu accessed through Open Table showed a fixed price menu for early dining. I did not see any reference to that option on the menu and asked the waiter. He said they just quit doing that the previous week as the slow season was over. Could have fooled me as my wife and I were the only customers in the room at 5 o'clock. His opinion was that Open Table needed to update their website. Nothing the restaurant could do.
Thinking about this I wondered where does fault lie, with the customer or the restaurant. Who should make this right? The restaurant has the contract with Open Table to act as its agent to promote the restaurant. The restaurant is the one that provides its menu and prices to Open Table. The restaurant is the one that is responsible for ensuring that its advertising is accurate. Why didn't they stand behind their advertising? So I was disappointed that the restaurant failed to make any concession or honor its advertising. The brief exchange with the waiter was a negative start to what should be a very pleasant experience especially considering this is supposed to be a top flight restaurant with exceptional customer service. And it is disappointing to note that as of this writing two days after our dinner the restaurant is still advertising it's early dinner menu on Open Table which it apparently has no intention of honoring.
We had a reasonably good meal. Elk was overcooked but not dry. Just way too expensive for the quality and value, nothing really special. Good wine list. Do not go too late, they will push you out and start the vacum cleaner before you leave your table. The service was good overall.
My husband ordered the mussels to start. The mussels were very bland. My husband had the ribeye oscar and there was hardly and crab on his steak and it was mostly fat. I had the crab cakes and french onion soup. The crab cakes were cold, mushy and tasted like celery and the soup was just not good. The soup wasn't savory and the cheese had already hardened by the time it made it to the table.
We ended up sending everything back and paying for the bottle of wine and mussels we had.
The manager was apologetic and said he spoke to the chef about our meal.
I have been here about 4 times now in the past few years. Two times were great, the other two not so much. I definitely feel like it is hit or miss with the food you get. I will say that service has always been impeccable. Biggest issue is steak not cooked to specifications. I prefer medium well on the grill. On two separate visits my steak was prepared medium. One of those times it was near rare. This last time my steak was undercooked, extremely fatty for a wagyu piece (more like a strip cut), and the fingerling potatoes were very salty and also undercooked, crunchy as it were. I could have sent it back to the kitchen but I just wanted to enjoy a nice anniversary dinner with my wife. I shouldn't have to fuss with the staff over my meal. Either have my wife's meal go stone cold while waiting for mine to be remade or eat separately. Really not what I would expect for a $300 bill for 2 people. Can you get a great meal here? Yes. It is worth risking several hundred dollars? Not by a long shot.
The Hideaway is aptly named - you feel that you are hidden away from the hustle and bustle. It has wonderful food, a lovely setting, and comfortable atmosphere. This is a place you can enjoy your meal without someone pushing you out the door. We love coming here.
Amazing service. We brought our four children age 6,4,2 and 4 months. Our children are used to nice restaurants so I wouldn't recommend it if your children don't appreciate a fancy meal. The staff treated us all with great respect and kindness and the food was to die for! Both the owner and the manager stopped by to see how our meal was. IF YOU ARE A STEAKLOVER THIS PLACE IS A MUST!
We have dined at the Hideaway more than once. We have never had a bad meal there and except for one occasion, the service has always been excellent. On that occasion, it was New Years Eve and the service was jus a little bit off/slow. We had dined there on New Years Eve before and returned because the experience was so great. This occasion was an anniversary and everything was fantastic. The food has been very good always. We will definitely return again.
Food was good. Customer service was outstanding. It was our first time there after so many times driving by and saying "we should go there one day"; we received a free appetizer as a first timer and free dessert for my boyfriend's birthday. Pricey but I would still recommend it.
This was our first time here. We were celebrating our anniversary it was very nice, food was great, service was great. We were presented with a taster of a fancy appetizer since it was our first time there, it was delicious. They also gave us a creme brûlée for our Anniversary.
I came here with my wife for our anniversary. The ambiance was excellent with perfect lighting, soft music, and great decor. The service was excellent with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the food was outstanding. Hideaway is a little expensive to be a regular dining spot, but for social occasions, it is fantastic!
