restaurant was not very busy on father's day.... just a few other tables. some of the food ordered by our party was just warm, not hot. item was replaced by a freshly prepared (and hot) plate.
Wonderful atmosphere and food!!!!!!
Great specials on Monday nights
Got to love a place that serves Chicken Tikka, Country Fried Steak, Creole options and Meatloaf on the same menu. In addition they had a full breakfast menu! We did not know what to expect and got more than we hoped.
Great service and food
Great food, drink and muffins.
Great service and dinner
Because of a new Indian owner, it's now a great combination of Louisiana/Cajun dishes plus several Indian dishes. Great neighborhood gem.
Great value and terrific food
We were in the area and hungry. We pulled up open table and made a quick choice with no knowledge of the place.
This is a bar/tavern with a restaurant that is located in a strip mall. When we arrived we were the only ones looking to eat and not drink and watch football games. If you are OK being in a bar setting to eat; you should give this place a try.
Even though we were the only ones in the restaurant section; the food was pretty good. I had the Jambalya and husband had the special of potato encrusted salmon. Both were really good. We also had the Greek and Cesar salads. Greek was awesome and the Caesar not so great. Overall the prices were reasonable and we would go back if in the area.
The food was wonderful. Service slow, but that was probably because it was 50% off all food that day - that was a nice surprise for us. Many great things on the menu. Will definitely go back again.
Everything was good and would come back. Was just our luck that Ace was performing the night we went (he is there a couple times a month). Was a hoot. A whole karaoke show with purple sequin jacket and Afro 80s hair. Elvis Johnny Cash Conrad Twitty and more.
I met two friends at this restaurant in Burtonsville as it was centrally located. There were not a lot of vegan options, but I did find a salad that worked well and had a nice glass of wine. My friends got fish which they said was excellent. There was a lot of noise from the bar area, but there are places to sit away from the bar if needed. The server was very competent and attentive. I would go back. I wish there were a few more things on menu for vegans.
This is a redneck bar pretending to be good food.
We came because we had a coupon but will definitely return. The chicken tika was excellent and my husband enjoyed the jambalaya. The service was excellent except the server brought the check before asking if we wanted dessert.
Cold hot food. Frozen grilled meatloaf. Only ones there, and there's a reason.
The restaurant is very small. My wife and I were a bit cramped in the booth we were in but other booths may have had more space. The food was excellent and so was the service.
We were regular customers at this restaurant many years ago. Under the original owners, this was an outstanding restaurant. The restaurant changed hands and management a few times in the ensuing years, and it no longer lived up to its early reputation. Indeed, the food, prices and overall experience got increasingly worse. After a bad experience with the restaurant a couple of years ago, we simply stopped going. But, because it changed hands yet again after our bad experience, we decided to give it another chance. My wife ordered the Chicken Pablano, which was one of our favorites in the early years. The current version of this dish is not nearly as good as it used to be. The portion is smaller, and the sauce is watery. The mashed potatoes that come with it are not as good as the garlic mashed potatoes that used to be served. The meal was okay, but nothing special. I ordered the barbecued meatloaf. The portion was quite ample, although not the huge slab that was served in the olden days. And the potatoes, as noted above, were decent but disappointing compared to what used to be served. Still, it was all pretty good. I also note that Hickory Grill used to make terrific biscuits and an especially good corn bread roll. Now, there were no biscuits, and the corn bread was distinctly inferior to what used to be served. All in all, the restaurant was not bad, and we will probably give it another try in the next month or so. It is not what it once was, but it is much better than the last time we went there under prior management.
Overall, the food was good. The soda machine was not working at the time, so all of the sodas were flat. The atmosphere was nice and casual, and you can tell that it is a local favorite.
Great mid-way place for Baltimore and Montgomery County friends to meet. Have not been there in years, since ownership changed, but was pleasantly surprised. Food is good. Place is quiet. And we were not rushed to leave (though the place was pretty empty).
Small local sports bar with restaurant attached. Few items not available so decided to take advantage of happy hour from 4 to 7 with discount on drinks, beer, wine and 1/2 price appetizers. Also Mondays have 50% entrees and Wednesday's 1/2 price bottles of wine! Decided to try few appetizers including Cajun Calamari and old Bay Wings which were as expected fine for bar food. Surprisingly, the Cajun Egg rolls with chicken and spinach and Mexican vegetables were amazing! Willing to try entrees next time. Waitress was very nice and attentive to needs.
nice place to drop in for a quick byte. Good food, cold beer and service is good.
Food and service were overall excellent. I had the taste of the grill, my wife had the meatloaf. The only minor complaint would be with the chicken breast with the taste of the grill being a little bit too cold. We were told by our server that on Monday's everything is 50% off and we'll definitely go back to take advantage. We've also been there for breakfast and once again it was a very good experience.
It's a nice neighborhood bar, food is good, beer is cold and great service.
is a nice neighborhood grill and bar, Food is good and reasonable priced. Service has always been good. I usually go there on Mondays, wife teaches.. so son and I do dinner there. He is in love with the Jambalaya, myself, sandwich and a cold beer and all is good.
Makes it even greater. Jambalaya my son's choice all the time.. I like to try different things..even the sandwiches are good.
First time, nice dinner, wine list is minimal and even some on the list not available, it's mostly a neighborhood hang out.
