Hibashi Teppan Grill, Sushi Bar Ratings and Reviews
Hibashi has become our go-to special occasion spot. It's entertaining, the food is tasty and we always enjoy the experience.
We've gotten a different chef each time and I appreciate how each of them brings their own uniqueness to the experience. I enjoy the consistently good experience coupled with the little surprises along the way.
The food was good but no show at all on the grill the chef hardly talk i went there for my girlfriend's birthday i had reservations and they set 3 strengers on the same table i went to the host and told him that i had made the reservations for the birthday and his answer to me was oh we do that because we don't have enough chef's so we but together some of the guest and we eat the server went to our table 3 times thats all and when i ask the server to give me the menu for desserts he told no the kitches is close and give me the check ....so no i don't recommend that place at all
We went on Friday for my birthday dinner. My Mom had never been to a restaurant where they cook on the big grill in front of you, either, so it was an extra fun experience. The food was wonderful, the chef was very entertaining and everything was cooked perfectly.
It's a fun experience and I'm impressed with how well prepared the food is, even when the chef is tasked with a wide spectrum of foods to prepare. I wasn't sure how lobster was going to turn out cooked on the grill, but it was absolutely wonderful.
This restaurant has a large amount of floorspace. Yet, I've never seen it even close to full except for the Hibachi grill tables. There were 9 of us and we were at a Hibachi grill table. When we arrived, there was a customer leaving who was rather obnoxious and rude to the staff about how bad his service had been.
It took a long time to get our initial drinks as the waiter would disappear for long periods of time. Throughout our evening, different people at our table were unable to get drinks refilled (I noticed this at other tables as well). The food was better than average, but the service experience (and ability to get drink refills) was incredibly poor. I've now tried this place about 3 times over 3 years and it's just poorly managed as the service is never great and was down right poor for my party as well as others... and on a prime evening such as Friday.
Party of 7, the waiter attempted to charge us a $50 fee that the manager told us was exclusively for parties of 8 or more.
Hibachi grill chef was terrible, didn't interact with the table, could not properly portion servings, forgot about the steamed rice for 4 of our party members, scallops were raw when I bit into them. Had we had a different chef, as we saw other chefs interacting and entertaining their diners, we felt it would have been a better experience.
Sushi bar items, the rolls we got were good, the salmon skin hand rolls however had a unsavory taste to them, the salmon roe that my parents got were unbearably salty as if it was just out of the can so they were very briny.
Waiter was extremely sarcastic when he apologized for the bad service to our table.
The manager however was fantastic when it came to resolving the issue with our check and the $50 fee, that had we actually had a party of 8+, we were meant to be informed of before it was made.
Reasonably priced Hibachi venue with great atmosphere. Food was delicious. Chef accommodated gluten-free needs of someone in our party.
At the end as the chef removed a steak from the grill, he realized he accidentally used a non-GF sauce. He promptly made a new steak and even gave us the other one on the house!
Food and chef at the Hibachi grill were very good. All other service was very poor. No attention was paid to what was needed. Had to ask to have plates cleared so we could have room for our dessert plates that had already been served. Had to request refills. Waited an extended amount of time for the check to be presented as well as to be returned after payment had been made.
