HG SPLY CO Ratings and Reviews
I had a build your own bowl and it was delicious! I highly recommend the poblano cauliflower grits and Brussels sprouts. The service was terrific, AND they comped our appetizer and my husband’s beer. The beer was comped because his order tapped the keg, but I have no idea why they comped our appetizer. It was great, on time, and exactly what we ordered. I think maybe they did it because it was my husband’s birthday, but they also gave each a free glass of rosè to toast with. Our tab ended up being (sans tip) under $50 for a hearty appetizer, two cocktails, s glass of wine, a beer, and two entrees! I’d highly recommend it to anyone.
I waited long past my reservation. They explained that the diners had finished 25 minutes ago and they were waiting for them to get up. No. You tell them a reservation is waiting. It was packed and the noise level was too loud for a business meeting lunch. This was on a Wednesday. Probably good for fun. Not good for business lunch.
My experience would have been 5 stars. However, the female bartender was not friendly or engaging. She also requested that my group move from in front of there drink "dressing" area, we are African American. As soon as we moved, there were 3 other Caucasian guys that walked up...needless to say, she said hello to them and acted as if there was no problem with them standing in the same spot.
That's a huge deal breaker!
Two of us sat at the bar during a busy Friday lunch. Service was fast and vegetarian and vegan options were fresh and tasty. Seating is not the most comfortable and restaurant is drafty and noisy. Feels more like a bar with healthy food options, than a restaurant.
We are not from Dallas but we purposely put this on our list for our return after eating there three years ago. It did not disappoint! We were thrilled to discover a wonderful rooftop bar this time. Had no idea it was up there and the heaters and fire pits made it very pleasant on a chilly night.
No processed food here, all freshly prepared and quite good tasting as well as good for you. I tried the Delmonico steak and it was incredible. Rather large too so bring your appetite. Loved the brussels sprouts with it as well. My wife had a bowl while our associate had the ribs. No complaints from our table and the plates were nearly licked clean! Not the least expensive option but at least you know you are getting great food. Oh yeah, get the gluten free chocolate cake for dessert.
Downstairs, the service was friendly from start to finish. Only negative is that service in the upstairs bar was nonexistent unless I went to the bar itself. Bartender was great and helpful. We did have a server come by when we were finished with our drinks who took our empty glasses but didn't ask if we wanted anything else.
Parking can be tough for all business in the area but we got lucky. There are valet services nearby if you prefer.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those that like to make sure they are eating healthy but not forced to eat rabbit food to do so. Real. Good. Food.
Went for Sunday brunch, but not really a brunch place despite having a brunch menu. No pancakes, French toast, etc. no special brunch cocktails. Very limited breakfast menu, mostly burgers, etc. Disappointing. Asked waiter for a strawberry or raspberry to put in my mimosa and he said they didn't have any, then my scrambled eggs were garnished with strawberry slices. Wth? Probably fine for lunch, but a poor choice for "brunch". Won't be going back.
Everyone enjoyed their food, ambience was great, love the cocktails! We were fortunate enough to enjoy the nightly toast and was able to experience a new local beer (which I ordered later).
Part of the draw is the gorgeous view of downtown from the rooftop terrace. Always a hit for out town guests.
This is a good spot if in the Lower Greenville area of Dallas. Gets busy, which means loud if you are inside. Because it gets busy, it can be tough to have a conversation inside. There is an upstairs open area which is nice on nice evenings, seating at a premium. Can get hectic. Food is good with variety. Parking is a hassle in this area, so be prepared to valet or circle around.
