Our server was quite preoccupied on many occasions. Others there helped us when she forgot to follow up.
The entertainment was quite nice but much too loud for such a small area. You could see everyone had to try and talk above the saxophone player to be heard or have a conversation with people at their own table.
The food was extremely mediocre although it was all described on the menu much better than it tasted.
Had a reservation for 4th. Birthday celebration. Drove over 25 miles one way to find the restaurant closed for the day.
Disappointed in the quality of the food for the price. The food wasn’t bad, just not memorable for the price charged. Service was okay - not particularly friendly but addressed our requests promptly This was our second time there, and probably won’t be back for at least a long while. There are too many other good places to patronize where the value of the dining experience is better than here.
Thank you, Demi and staff for an amazing meal! Demi took the time to come and sit with us to explain all of the dishes. As someone with a gluten allergy, I could not be more grateful. I actually got to eat macaroni and cheese and fried chicken!!! Thank you, Hey 19, for a wonderful dining experience. We have already made reservations for the Sunday boil!
We went on Father's Day. They had a special menu just for Dads, kinda special. I also had a person who was vegan with us and he had no problem finding something delicious. I really enjoyed the lunch we had. We will be going back to try the other stuff on the menu as it all sounded delicious and was hard to decide what to get.
My to-go place when I need some neighborhood comfort. I could do less with the loudish music so i can enjoy conversation. Maybe just me.
Love the vibe here. The music is great esp on Wednesday nights. The staff is the sweetest. Great service 🙂. Food was YUMMY. Chicken pot pie was amazing. Chicken wings nice and crispy and 🌶 SPICY.
To top it off the Owner always puts a Smile on my face The Best!!!
It was a great night with a great band and great food. The service was wonderful!! Thanks to Dan!
We hit up Hey19 for an after dinner cocktail and live music(DJ) on Friday night and man, it did NOT disappoint!! The drinks were wonderful concoctions and the DJ played an amazing array of 80’s hit that made even those with two left feet want to dance! Can’t wait to book another night out at Hey19, except this time we’ll plan to have dinner as well!! This is a great little gem tucked away in southern Torrance!
Bad experience this time . Terrible service & very long wait for food. We had to check in with wait staff several times . I love this place but service was so disappointing tonight . Had to send drinks back 2x. Waited forever - no manager visible on floor to check in with customers . Great DJ & music .
Food was not bad, not great. The short ribs were a big disappointmen though: basically a watery boiled beef stew with onions and carrots and just chunks of stewed meat with fat attached. “Twice cooked” potatoes were just boiled small ref potatoes. No value for the $24.50 price.
Love this local spot - food is typically very good , with the occasional minor slip-up but even then, they are quick to react and make it right. Seating can be a little tight and I'd like to see some upgrades to the quality of the tables (I choose my entrée based on the stability of the table - will I be able to cut a steak at this table or is it going to rock too much?) but if that is the case, I just go with the delicious short ribs - which really eat more like a beef stew but absolutely delicious. We visit typically twice a month so these very minor comments are me being critical -
Overall, the food was fair and the service a bit disappointing. Our table ordered barramundi, meat loaf and the Pasta Kiana. I think my dish (the barramundi) was the most tasty. If in the mood for fish, give it a try, it won't disappoint. It's also reasonably priced. The others said their meals were ok. Regarding service, we timed our dinner during a 'staff' meeting so our order was taken by 3 different people which took more time. Once the order reached the kitchen, the food was promptly served. I'd go again to give them another chance and to try other items on their menu.
We all loved our food, the services was great! I love this place and will come back often.
The food was very good. Our table ordered salmon, meat loaf and the pot pie, and we all enjoyed our food.
I have been many times for the TGI foie gras (which has been discontinued...BOO!) This was the first time going for the weekend brunch. I got the "Big Ben" which is a stuffed mac n cheese croquet topped with a hamburger patty, topped with bacon, topped with a fried egg and covered in bacon gravy. It was one of the best tasting meals I have ever had! Truly fantastic! And it was $13.50 which, in my opinion, makes it a great deal. It is a fun place, albeit it tries a little to hard in the hipster category.
You wouldn’t think the food would be so good from the look of the place...but the food was great! The manager kept coming to our table to check on us and was very nice! We will definitely be back, we even brought our 7 month old.
The Hey 19 Vat, thier house drink is great! The food in general was so so. Some good some not so much. Disappointing for the price. Very expensive meat dishes.
The service was rushed... They took away our appetizer plates and knives as soon as we got the main dishes. Weird!
They had a live band, music was good. Food was flavorful
Love the food amd drinks. Perfect for casual date nite. Love music playing at night, will b back.
Such a wonderful place, fantastic music, delicious food, and awesome service.
THe food was amazing! I will definitely be back to try out different options
The food was just okay, nothing great. We are friends of Chef Shaffer who performs in a band some Saturday nights and went to hear him sing. If not for him, we would not go back.
Literally THE worst service and the worst food ever. We sent our slimy raw burgers all back (3 out of 4) and it took forever to get the replacements. We also ordered the 'extra' bloody mary's with 'snacks' on them for extra and not one person knew how to make them and had to read the menu because they dint believe that they had anything like that. Then when we got them the waffle attached to it was freeze fried. Disgusting.
We were one of two tables in the entire place and were there over 2 hours and couldn't wait to get out only it took forever. NOT only that the bill was over $150....and the waiter even comped 2 meals. Just a dark, missed dive bar trying to do something and not having any intention to follow that through. Sorry but worst money I have spent and worst meal I have had in years. Hey Ortega 120....you might want to dine in your own space soon and see whats going on.
I loved Hey 19! It's everything I want in a dive bar, but with fantastic cocktails and innovative and delicious food.
Amazing Food and Service!
This was our second time in one week. Both meals were terrific, as were the mixed drinks.
Service, especially Gigi, was fantastic. Hey 19 is our new favorite restaurant.
Food, service and ambience were all on point! Super fun atmosphere clever menu for food and cocktails energetic atmosphere with live music on certain nights of the week. Had an absolute blast and would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun place to go!
Had heard good things about Hey 19 and were not disappointed. Very eclectic vibe. Not a matching chair or set of dishes in the place. But, the food was outstanding. Lots of options, quite a few comfort food options. My wife had a delicious and huge chicken pot pie and I had braised short ribs and vegetables that melted in my mouth. Salads are definitely made to be split. The house green salad with a light vinaigrette was perfect to start. The have a handful of local craft beers on tap and a wide selection of bottles. Dessert was a wonderful brownie with caramel sauce drizzled and a scoop of vanilla ice cream that was perfect!
Hey 19 was great...again! We went most recently for their Sunday Shrimp Boil. Was it ever good! And portions were great, too. We added in their house special cocktail, the #19, and some beer. Delicious. We love Hey 19's atmoshere, food and drink. It's comfortable and fun for a night out with friends or the family. Love their live music when that's on the schedule, too!
The place has good ambience, despite the neighborhood strip mall location, cocktails were excellent. Lots of variety and choices.
Prices were a bit high, but meal size was substantial (pasta).
Cheese plate, fried deviled eggs, baked brie and bread pudding, are our families favs. The spicy margarita was just perfect, not sweet at all.
It was our first time there and almost everything was fantastic and reasonably priced. But the rack of lamb was market price and it's my fault for not asking ahead of time what the price was. It was $42 and for what I got I think overpriced. There were 3 nice sized chops and one little overcooked (although very flavorful) one with potatoes and arugula. Most of their other items are under $20 so this was a shocker.
I will definitely go back. It's very noisy but the food makes up for that. Don't go if you want a quiet cozy evening. They've got a wonderful homemade pot pie. The vegi's in it tasted so fresh. Loved it! I'll skip the mkt priced items though.
Great food, party atmospher, exotic drinks, eat before band starts.
I always have a great time at Hey 19, it's my favorite place to go for date night.
Finally tried the lamb and the chicken..both outstanding!
A hidden gem!! A little hard to find and we weren't sure what to expect when we drove up, but very glad we went inside. Looks like an old neighborhood bar that's been converted into a hip, trendy pub. No table cloths, but full service. The food is excellent with some unique recipes for good old fashioned comfort food. Everything seems well prepared with fresh ingredients. Service is great. Sean was friendly and prompt and constantly checking back to make sure everything was fine. Very reasonably priced too. Great for families. Our only regret is that we weren't more hungry. We stopped here after a day of beer tasting at a few of the local craft breweries in Torrance.
Great food and fun atmosphere! Cannot go wrong with the menu! Comfortable, casual and a neighborhood gem!
Very friendly staff. Great service. Food was excellent
Incredible drinks! Made to order and absolutely delicious! Then the appetizer, bacon wrapped pieces of heaven! Then the main entrees, he had the Roger which is so different and something out of this world delicious. I had the meatloaf which tasted amazing and fresh. We absolutely loved this place and it will be our regular date spot!
Excellent evening, great food & house wines.
music was too loud..good lunch...nice presentation
