Hersh's Ratings and Reviews
Had to try this place as I've heard so much about it! After sailing for 4 hours we were hungry and thirsty! The temps made it perfect to eat outside and since it was 6:30 on Saturday nite we had our pick of tables (made a res., just in case).
I rarely eat soft crabs except at my sis' place because of many, many disappointments. But NO MORE! The softcrabs make me want to take her there!!! They were perfection, as was the asparagus and pizzas. Drinks were cold and inventive and the wine list was extensive.
All in all a perfect Baltimore day!
I consider myself somewhat of a pizza snob;I also consider Hersh's kale and pistachio pizza to be the best I have ever had.And I have had it 5 or 6 times over the past 3 or 4 years--I would get it more often, except that it is a major schlep from my part of town. The rest of the food was top notch,as was the service.Long live Hersh's!
We were a party of 6 with a two-year-old for Mother's Day. They smartly put us in a corner where we would not be disturbing anyone else just in case. The service was amazing. Our waitress did not write anything down, and we ordered a ton of food. She could see that we wanted to eat as quickly as possible because of the baby, and yet we do not feel rushed at all. Beverages were always refilled, etcetera.
Parking was not available in the immediate vicinity but the restaurant has a deal that allows patrons to park at the garage about 1.5 blocks east of the restaurant on certain days. That worked out fine. I just wish I had learned of this in advance of looking for a parking spot. I now see that this info was on the website but I simply did not see that page before heading out so I pass along the info here in case it helps someone else using Open Table. Our visit was just about perfect in all other aspects.
We had a wonderful dining experience at Hersh"s. The decor had a industrial modern vibe and the cuisine was creative. I started out with a marvelous Mojito and it was sooo good I had another one. We then had the Tagliolini and my husband had the Kale & Pistachio Pizza both dishes were delicious. I would highly recommend dining at Hersh"s.
We had a great experience dining here Friday evening. The food and cocktails were excellent. Only downside was we weren't able to score a table outside. We were told it would be 45 minute wait, and opted to dine inside. A party came in shortly after us and were able to be seated outside leaving me unsure why we couldn't have been given the table. We had reservations.
We have never had anything but good food, great drinks, and an all around good time dining at Hersh's. Pizza is best in town, apps and entrees wonderful as well. Wait staff generally very friendly and with a sense of humor. My only comment on the neg side would be that the wines can be pricey, but who cares when you are having a pleasant evening? BB
We went to Hersh's for the special Easter brunch and were not disappointed. We are putting in a plug to offer the fried chicken on the regular menu. It was a huge hit with everyone in our party and the leftovers did not make it to the fridge. Hersh's is a really cool spot - historic, great murals and fantastic music. My son had the primavera pizza - the crust was sublime. I had the Eggs Dante` which was also a brunch exclusive and was equally delicious. Our server was knowledgeable and kept our food and drinks coming at a nice pace. Overall we had a fantastic dining experience and will definitely be back.
Amazing as always. A devout carnivore, I somehow left the last two visits without eating any meat because I'm obsessed with the kale salad and the eggplant pizza. This visit it was late, And they were out of the eggplant, so I got the mushroom. Now the mushroom might be my new up session . The services always friendly and engaging .
