I personally had a great experience and I was hungover from celebrating a graduation in the family. We were a group of 9. My family doesn’t really go out to restaurants and thought the price was the number you said to order what you wanted lol. Anyway the server and the rest of the staff was helpful. I enjoyed the environment and music during brunch.

Our waitress was sweet and cheerful, the food was delicious and healthy, and the owner/manager was so nice and friendly! It made our visit from Chicago extra special!

First of all got there 10 minutes before 5 and was like “ you have to wait till diner at 5 to be seated “ since the price goes wAy higher after 5. Then to top it all off my daughter got a long light brown hair on her pasta. It was ridiculous that I tried to change my reservation earlier since I had stuff to do and couldn’t on openable it wouldn’t give me an option but when I got there it was literally empty maybe like 6 other small party’s and by small party’s I mean in 2s I will never come here again. Food was way overpriced and wasn’t even good. Pizza was not good the pasta was ok the ceviche was not worth 22 dollars the drinks where great though

Nice ! Slightly on the expensive side for the quantity they serve but the feel is good , a one time experience , we went for a special occasion and the price didn't bother us , good wine , great food , lovely dessert and cool ambience with an extraordinary service. Recommend to those who want a quiet fancy place for a meal .

This was my first time in Santa Monica and wanted experience some of their great seafood with the company of my wife. I wasn't looking for anything too high end. Rather I wanted to find a restaurant with locally sourced ingredients at a great value in an atmosphere that won't put you to sleep! I am happy to say that Herringbone checked off all those boxes and provided exceptional service! We will definitely drop in again next time we're in the area!

The service was absolutely terrible. Not even sure if we had a waiter as my party had to instigate everything. The manager was clueless as well. We were not asked a single time if we wanted more drinks, wanted to order, wanted dessert, a check...anything. Took 30 minutes to get anyone’s attention when we sat down to get water or a drink. After more waiting we asked for our drinks and the waiter said he “forgot to put in the order”. It was all downhill from there. I literally yelled at the top of my lungs if someone could bring our check and even that didn’t work. Will not return.

The room is terrific; casual with a Southern Cal vibe. Herringbone in Santa Monica has no pretenses of being a snooty restaurant; a great place for a meal or just hang over appetizers and drinks.

The food was really good but the service was horrendous. After being seated it took almost 20 minutes for server to come over and give us water. After dinner knowing how slow the service had been we asked for the check when we ordered dessert. Once again almost half an hour for ice cream dessert. I would be hesitant to return or recommend based on the poor service. Management did apologize, stating how busy it was but come on - it’s Saturday night - It’s prime time.

The food was great but our server was so busy, she wasn't able to properly manage the table. There were a lot of people on the floor but they didn't help her out.
My friend had to send back the crabcake twice because it was ice cold in the center. They wound up comp-ing it from the check.

The food at Herringbone was delicious. The servers were friendly and professional and offered suggestions for us which were great. The restaurant is very noisy and we had to move rooms as there were several large groups partying loudly in the space so it was difficult to hear anything at our table (both times we moved). The food and cocktails are very expensive and the restaurant is very casual, so it is a juxtaposition. I would return, though better with my boss who could pick up the tab!

The cocktail shrimp was presented beautifully but must have been recently thawed because it was very hard and tough. For a restaurant marketing itself as specializing in seafood we would have expected much higher quality food which was disappointing. However the service was excellent, the cocktails were wonderful, and the ambiance was very enjoyable.

Great atmosphere and terrific seafood. Come for happy hour (4-7 PM) where you can enjoy a great oyster-for $1 offer and a discounted seafood and drinks menu. If you sit outside you can get a glimpse of the ocean and sunset through the building. Highly recommended !

I requested a table on the patio. It was perfect for talking I have been here before and enjoyed my food but wanted to try other things the shrimp cocktail was great, large, firm shrimp The Brussels. Sprouts were so good we got an extra order to take home. The tuna capricio was good but too spicy. The place has a good feel to it and the food is always good

Went here on a "date" with my wife and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food. I had the grilled prawns with kimchee fried rice as an appetizer and the swordfish for my meal, both were amazing! My wife had a salad for starters and for her dinner had the seared tuna and we split a side of brussel sprouts. Everything was great and their drink menu is decent; I had a couple of their Better Mules and Gardens which was very tasty. Overall we were very pleased with our choice in Herringbone and will definitely be going back in the future.

We chose this place for a special meal before family returned home after visiting us, because it had great reviews and looked like it would be a really great experience. In reality - it was OK. The atmosphere is great, and the service was awesome - our server really tended to every need we could possibly have, before we even knew we needed it! But the food was pretty mediocre considering the price. I was expecting to be 'wowed'... I wanted to be... but just wasn't. There also wasn't much in the way of gluten free options which makes things difficult. The rest of the family weren't that into their food either... it was OK. Def nice enough, but not really worth the price tag. We paid double what we've been paying every night over their 2 week stay, and I'd say we'd had better food elsewhere for half the price.

Enjoyed the new ambiance, trendy settings, and LOVED my mahi-mahi seafood dish. I personally am not into spicy and my appetizers were way to spicy--would have been nice if the bartender had told me in advance or taken them off the bill. Easy parking, good drinks, and fun place.
