Outstanding atmosphere! Great decor. Love the bottomless deal.
Enjoyed the new ambiance, trendy settings, and LOVED my mahi-mahi seafood dish. I personally am not into spicy and my appetizers were way to spicy--would have been nice if the bartender had told me in advance or taken them off the bill. Easy parking, good drinks, and fun place.
Very good food. Good service. A little noisy. Overpriced
Brian was a great server!
Poke appetizer was outstanding! They make incredible seaweed chips to eat with the poke. Seafood was extremely fresh in the Prawn appetizer and the Seafood linguini. Rib-eye was tender with an outstanding sauce with mushrooms.
Terrible service and food. Wine not chilled. Would never go back.
Love the look and feel. Great energy. The entre (Branzino) was fantastic. The service was very slow. It felt like no one was in charge nor took responsibility for the poor and disjointed service. For this reason I would not return
Overall the experience was fantastic ! In particular I have to compliment our server who had exceptional table side manner and a well rounded understanding of the menu and pairings. Marks input was valuable to the experience. In general all staff were polite and attentive. Menu selection is inovative , fresh , and flavor/ingredient combinations outstanding . From the dishes ordered we favored the buffalo octopus, whole branzino , and the cookies and milk for dessert . We did order 2 desserts and this one by far gave a childhood classic a modern flare and sophisticated twist. Great experience!
A 4-person birthday dinner went off wonderfully, as Kevin assured me it would. The food here was exceptionally good by all accounts from the four of us. Our waiter, Brian, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu selections. The only drawback at Herringbone: the noise level is OK for a gin mill, but a bit loud for a fine restaurant like this. (The acoustics don't absorb much sound.) But we'll definitely visit again.
Excellent food, amazing location, and friendly knowledgeable staff. My girlfriend and I like to make a point to do date night at new restaurants and check out the latest hot spots. I've been to this location before and the food was service were good but there was a reason why we hadn't been back in a while. When we heard that they had a new chef and some new menu items we decided to give it another shot. IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT! We ordered a bunch of items and everything was absolutely delicious. I'm a glutton for bone marrow so when I saw a scallop and bone marrow dish I could not order it fast enough. The scallop was cooked PERFECTLY as was the bone marrow. I can't remember what was underneath the bone but it like an onion puree that we could have eaten every day for the rest of our lives and still not gotten sick of it. Great job to Hakkasan and to Herringbone for taking a great location and giving it the food and service that it deserves. We'll definitely be back and next time we're bringing friends. Keep up the great work.
Herrringbone is fine dinning and excellent seafood - very noisy and busy setting so do not go for quiet dinning experience but fun atmosphere and great Energy!
Great service. Great food. Home made desserts.
It’s one of our favorite restaurants. We look forward
to dining out here on special occasions.
Brunch was AMAZING
We are so sad since our first experience at herringbone made us come back... this time we brought friends, food was not good (aside from the buffalo octopus.. delicious!) but chicken was WAY too salty, crab was tasteless, crab cake small and not great ;( for a price of $300+ on our bill, I was so very disappointed... the manager was good but our waitress was not... she showed her frustration with every interaction and I know was happy to see us go...
We definitely want to give them another chance since we feel like maybe it was an off night but.... we shall see...
Drinks are overpriced- food is pretty delicious and the lighting is awfully dark at night - need more candles (fake) on the tables
Friend’s Birthday. There were a few glitches in terms of food coming out and a mistake on someone’s order but it was handled properly.
First time at Herringbone for birthday dinners for 4. Place was moderately busy. Food from kitchen was ill-timed. Main courses came several minutes apart for party of 4. Then, an ice cream sundae for 1 came and melted before rest of desserts, some warmed, arrived. The servers banged the dishes down as they arrived and looked generally harried. Our waiter was polite and apologetic, but still... Drinks were very good, and Herringbone has a nice, energetic vibe. That being said, the staff should make the task of timing and serving food look easier than they did.
Chiliquillas were mediocre. Better the last time I was there. I could not even tell that eggs where present.
The sticky bun is to die for. It tasted fabulous.
I love the employees and the service they give. The noise is a turn off. You can’t have a pleasant conversation without shouting and asking your friends to rapid what the said.
Didn't have a good experience, despite there being 10 customers in the restaurant on Super Bowl Sunday.
My wife had the octopus and the shrimps, they were both amazing! I had the seared tuna and it was excellent as well. If you enjoy food that is flavorful and refined, this is a great spot!
Great ambiance but my fish was over cooked. I expect more for the pricing.
Very expensive, and food was not the greatest.
Business travel we always love this restaurant
Been to Herringbone numerous times and usually great... But this time not so good... Waited for server for over ten minutes... Not a hello or drink order... Then told had ten minutes to order before kitchen closed... Brought out wrong drink twice... Asked for heater to be put on three times... Forgot a side for another person's meal... All little stuff that just started accumulating and making experience annoying... If it s turnover time... Then figure out how to take care of the customers...
Stunning interiors, hip crowd, excellent food but the prosecco used in bottomless mimosas was not great - it was sour.
Cesar salad very bland.
Octopus was overwhelmed by Tabasco.
Enjoyed our meal in Herringbone. Food and service were excellent. Enjoy the appetizers too!
Wine list, mahi, and ceviche outstanding. Carpaccio was waaaaay too spicy. Very loud. Hard to have a conversation. Better for casual dinners vs business.
I never write reviews, but my 14 year old daughter was going to write this one if I didn’t. First, we made reservations online for 5, earliest they had available was 7:30pm, yet when we walked in half the restaurant was empty. Next, we tried to order Virgin Pina Coladas for the teenagers. They have a full bar, no blender. Next, out of oysters. Then, out of shrimp linguine and finally out of mahi-mahi. When we were able to find some food they did have available it was fairly good. So that was our plus. Service was ok. The hostess held the door open for me when I carried my sleeping son out, another positive. LA has amazing food where we don’t need to spend $200 for ok.
5 people-$200 (my son had drink and bread)
not going back.
We went for dine LA. Had a reservation for 7:30 pm. The front desk hostess was not attentive. Despite seeing many open tables, our reservation was not ready. So we went to the bar and had a drink. 30 minutes later we were still not called for our table so I go back to the same hostess. Had I not asked , we would have still been waiting. So we sit at our table and are ignored by the server . More time elapsed until he finally brought us the dine la menu. Then he said that one of the entree items which we ordered was sold out. Same thing for dessert. Meanwhile near us, is another table who is served the entree we were told was sold out. I don't think this is right., if the restaurant is not going to honor their dine La menu and want people to order off the regular menu, then do not participate in dine la. Anyway, we got the alternate dessert which was a 1 inch cube of chocolate torte. My friend told our server that other guests who had the same dessert got whole slices. Our waiter said that we got a bigger portion than we should have on the dine la menu. The restaurant is beautiful. The service is poor. The food itself is good when you can get it. The dishonesty is shameful.
Loud noisy restaurant. Slow service, we waited over an hour for our entrée. Food was overly salty.
The food was amazing. The ambiance and decor of the inside is second to none. Definitely one of the go to spots for Santa Monica.
Good food, but expensive for what it is. Fun, energetic atmosphere.
Service was outstanding. Josh and team were very attentive and helpful. Food was tasty and interesting, i.e. someone really knows how to cook and create delightful fare.
Met a girlfriend for Saturday brunch atHerringbone. We opted for the bottomless Rose, and were happily surprised at the quality of the wine. Definitely wasn't the cheap stuff. I had the chilaquiles and loved every bite. My friend had the veggie scrambled eggs with breakfast potatoes, she was a little less excited about her meal. I give our server 5 stars. He was attentive but not overbearing, and kept our wine glasses perfectly filled. We'll definitely go back to Herringbone!
The ambiance, food, and service was exceptional. I would definitely come back!
the food was good but too expensive. nice ambiance
Family get together
