Herringbone - Santa Monica

Everything was perfect. My boyfriend and I look forward to visiting again sometime soon.
Both of the hostesses that night were incapable of answering simple questions and were very rude on top of that.
Brunch was delicious. Excellent service. Beautiful place.
It was a good and chill place, but it was missing something. Maybe some music, the portions sizes and a little more flavor.
Such an enjoyable experience, we had so much fun
Music was too loud, but food is great!
Excellent restaurant. Modern Californian very innovative cuisine.
Family of 10 looking for a good but affordable option in Santa Monica. Yelp rated the affordability 💲💲but with $17 salads, $19 cocktails and $35 pork chops, this was a 💲💲💲 choice. We had already given them our VISA to confirm our reservation and had walked a long distance so dined there, but left with mixed feelings and half way full bellys.
Food was great and the recommendation from server was really good. Noise level was a little loud but otherwise it is very open beautiful area with a plant wall.
We went here to celebrate our anniversary. We had a wonderful time. Great menu options, delicious food, great ambiance and even greater service. Natalie was outstanding! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
The food and service were excellent. Very noisy for 6 of us to have a conversation without straining ourselves. Perhaps better to go on a weeknight when you can hear one another.
Food was a disappointment. Management needs training. I was surprised when I walked in how empty it was on a Friday night. By the time I left, completely understood why it was empty. Won’t go back, too many other choices in the area. Too bad, love the ambiance.
Management is horrific!
The server was awesome. The food was very fresh and delicious.
Great cocktails and delicious menu! Fun and edgy ambiance close to downtown Santa Monica.
It was wonderful! Delicious cocktails and amazing food! Kudos to the Chef! My friends and I had a great experience and it was a celebration that marks the moment of our lives! Thank you for being a part of it!
Wanted fresh seafood and got it. Loved the Skiff and whole fish ceviche aka sea bass sashimi.
Great wine list and local brews as well.
Delicious food, warm atmosphere and so enjoyable.
Great service ❤️❤️❤️
Forgotten by waiter. Food over salty and over fussy. You cant do that with fish dishes.
Way noisy. Have to amp voice just to speak across table.
Price too expensive given service and over salty food.
Also requested decaf but was likely served regular coffee. Was up all night long wide-eyed until 4-5am!!!!! Specifically asked and made sure that he heard me for decaf. When server brought coffee I reiterated and asked if it was decaf both of them said yes. Clearly it wasn’t.
Table service was average. Seemed too busy to care for every assigned table.
Tuna poke was extremely salty. Could not finish eating.
Lobster role was very good.
Brunch is not worth it unless you just wanna drink. The new brunch menu is lack luster and leaves you wishing you had gone somewhere else. Endless rose is great but not enough to compensate for poor selection of food options not to mention undercooked portions of food.
Food was overpriced and not that good. Ambiance and service was good. But food was mediocre and definitely overpriced. Didn’t like that you couldn’t substitute or add to the meal.
My mom and I love Herringbone. We love sitting outside, it’s a lot quieter than inside and the music drowns out the sound of any traffic on the street! The food and service was fantastic too!
If you're going with a large party, definitely get the Yacht seafood tower. A delicious variety of seafoods, and just a fun way to eat with a large dinner party. I also loved that it's kid friendly. Will definitely go back.
I had a reservation and was seated promptly and drinks order taken right away. It took 25 minutes to get my drink. In fact in came after my meal came. Food was mediocre - my flatbread was cold and the side of asparagus was sweet.
It was extremely loud. Despite the fact that it is across the street from the hotel that I usually stay at, I will not be going back.
My first time at the Santa Monica location and my experience was ok. Nothing to write home about, especially because my wife found a hair in her food. While we understand that things do happen, it really just changed the mode of the day. The manger discounted our meal, but by that time the thrill was gone.
Dissapointing, this place used to be so much better/tastier! We had 9 people party, and aside from appetizers, there was nothing good to eat.
Other than being entirely too loud experience was wonderful
The food was ok but tried for way more in its setting and presentation. My recommendation: go for substance and don’t worry so much about plating. I had a very similar meal at Stella Barra the previous night and it was way better and 1/3 the price. Not as flashy but if you want food I would send you there.
We arrived for our booking at 1pm on Easter brunch, sat at the table for well over 20 min before anyone came over to offer drinks or coffee. The noise level was so loud we barely talked to each other and the price and value weren't great. Don't recommend.
I requested a really cute table for a special occasion: friends birthday and another friend from out of town and we were given the best table! However, for a large party of 10 we felt really neglected. The server was sooo nice so I hate to write this but we had to repeatedly ask him to come to our table for our drink order and he took a few people at a time vs the whole party so we all got our drinks at different times. We also didn’t order for 45 mins. The ambience is great but out of 10 people only one of us liked our dish. We all agreed the food wasn’t great and experience didn’t make up for it. The seafood tower was really disappointing and overpriced. The server did however read the notes from the open table reservation and did a birthday song/treat for our friend!
Surprisingly inventive dishes, eager service and nice setting
The space is nicely designed. The receptionists and servers are polite and accommodating. But all downhill from there.
The service is painfully slow. food delivery to the table takes a very very long time. The food is marginal at best, nothing special or unique however it is extremely expensive and surely overpriced for what it is.
There is an odd Oder most likely coming from the kitchen that is nauseating.
The manager was nice enough to proactively make adjusts.
There are better options in that area than this one.
Hostesses were rude, and the food was so underwhelming for what the price point and atmosphere led on to be.
Food was good and service was okay
Nice. Good but overpriced and way too loud.
I would definitely go back. We ordered the Yacht platter - shellfishes fully loaded and it was great diner for 2 of us. Dessert was also excellent. Nice style restaurant and not in the jungle of Santa Monica Pier but still close by.
Energetic atmosphere and noise level was OK
