One of St. Louis' finest. Herbies is my default choice in a lot of circumstances. Everyting they put on the menu is executed wonderfully and the service is always great.
outstanding menu, delicious meals, impeccable service.
Yet another Sunday brunch. Very nice (and short) menu. Opted for the skillet and trout croquet/Brussels sprout salad......with a couple Bloody Mary’s. All in all, a very nice luncheon on a cold snowy day.
We love Herbie's for Sunday Brunch - always a great experience! Our server, Brian, is always helpful and attentive, and the manager makes us feel welcome. We will be back many times as we love the food, the ambiance, and the best brunch around!
The food was excellent. The service was very good. Our reservation was for four at 6:30 and we were not seated until 7:15; and when we arrive at the table we noticed that there were three or four unoccupied tables available. That was the only glitch. We'll be back.
Enjoyed our evening at Herbie’s. The food was good the service was outstanding, I can’t remember our waiters name but he was completely professional and on his game. Saw the floor manager buzzing around making sure everything was good, nice to see that.
My only complaint is I felt the Dover Sole was a little overpriced at $50, it was MP but I was expecting somewhere between $38-40. Nothing major because it was still prepared well and the waiter did an excellent job with table side filet.
My husband and I were celebrating a special occasion and wanted to try a new and different restaurant. We found Herbie's menu selection had a broad variety and great evening specials. We ended up ordering two of the specials and both were delicious. The service was great and the main chef stopped by our table. The cherry dessert was excellent. Thanks!!
We always enjoy our evenings at Herbies! Sean is a wonderful asset to the Hospitality & Vibe
Excellent food and service
Great wine list
One bad experience warrants another chance. I will try it again. The food was fine, especially the soup. The service was beyond slow and forgetful. Hopefully that improves dramatically next time. After all, business lunches are not leisurely.
Herbies is always our go-to for a special night out. The food has been consistently wonderful for years. The service is prompt and friendly. They also go out of their way to make sure that my partner has amazing (and safe) gluten free options. Top notch in so many ways.
Several business associates met at HERBIE'S for lunch. While overall everyone enjoyed themselves I would have to say the time taken to serve our meal was a little too long. My lunch - a chicken salad sandwich - was average. Everyone else seemed to enjoy the meal. Atmosphere is excellent. I would consider returning again but also would consider other neighborhood restaurants.
This was an excellent brunch with friends; service was impeccable and the staff accommodating and attentive. I would highly recommend their brunch to anyone - it's wonderful!
Service was good but food was not. Over cooked and tasteless. The best thing was soup
A perfect date night with my husband and friends. Food was delicious, service excellent. We can hardly wait to come back!!!
Our first time to Herbie's since moved from CWE. As usual classy, great food/value,
very nice wine list, and great service. Our waitress Sharlotte was espcially nice and our table really enjoyed her smile, friendliness, recommendations, and approach. We will be back to try the outside dining- looks enjoyable as well.
Food not as good as I expected. The bread baskets were terrible, no variety and dull. The salads seems “store bought” sort of like “salad in a bag”. Also, the beef was good but the steak sauce was not. That was defiantly from a bottle and cheap one at that. The details would make a big difference.
Food was good but not great. My burger was cooked well done. Not enough variety on menu for brunch
This was a terrific restaurant and we had a wonderful evening.
The waitress was professional. She makes me feel she cared about us having a great experience. The ambience was great. I enjoyed my food. The food was pricey.
The experience was great.
We should have known Valentine’s Day would be a challenge. We made our reservations weeks ago. We arrived early. We were seated right away, but at a tiny bar table, cramped in between 2 other tables, and with uncomfortable chairs. Our waitress was cheerful, but little things were lost in the chaos. The food was delicious, our table neighbors were all friendly conversationalists, the live music was peppy. Unfortunately, we had hoped for a more intimate, rather than communal Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day. Had private room and they put rose peddles on the table and waits staff was excellent. Attentive but didn’t over due it al all
The Restaurant, Staff and Dinner were all excellent! I would definitely return!
I had asked for a quiet table, preferably a booth and they obviously really listened and cared enough to think about it and suggest a comfy booth in the bar area as it wasn't as crowded as in the restaurant. That kind of customer service is all too rare these days and didn't go unnoticed. The service was flawless. The food was everything we'd expect from this great place. Burgers and salads were ordered and everything very good. Like others have said in reviews, disappointed the BrussellsSprout salad had been taken off the menu. Maybe they'll reintroduce it but everything was great anyway.
The center room where we had lunch leaves a lot to be desired. Might as well have been in an interior conference room. Many other very nice areas to sit but we’re not open to us
Great! They gave a free dessert for our anniversary
Saturday at 12:30 we expected lunch but only a brunch menu. We wanted salads and they made them for us. A better lunch menu on weekend would be nice.
The food and service is excellent. A restaurant that is both romantic and family-friendly is a rare gem!
Good place for a business luncheon.
I used to go to Herbie's in the Central West End. The Clayton location was a big disappointment.
Good food and great service. I will be back
Restaurant was attractive. The food was delicious. The service was excellent.
The food was great. I had only gone there once before and enjoyed sitting outside for cocktails. This last visit , the waiter was exceptional and very personable. He was really attentive and made sure we were taken care of. I would definitely recommend this restaurant . I will be going back!
The menu for lunch is ok, a little pricy. I was excited to get the shrimp bisque but it was nothing like I had before, the consistency was very thick, it was salty and almost like a flour taste. The bison burger was good. I used to love the Brussel sprout salad but they took it off the menu and nothing else really excites me.
Excellent food, excellent service and many special touches by the staff. Can’t wait to go back.
Hadn't been to Herbie's since it moved from the Central West End. The commitment to quality and great food and drinks hasn't changed. I had the best hamburger (with pickles, cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato) on Brioche bun that I've had in a long time. It came with terrific fries, dusted with parmesan. I thought the price ($13.00) was reasonable for a REALLY great burger. Service was attentive, too.
Herbie’s came to me as a recommendation from a friend… five years removed from Boston, have to admit I had not heard of it. Wow was I surprised. Escargot was incredible… The best I’ve ever had. Nice wine list. Salmon was best in the city. Of course, my date made it all thr more memorabke.
The temperature in the main dining room was a bit cold. Apparently they had a burst pipe issue earlier in the week which could explain it. Otherwise everything was great.
i love the ambiance and the food! I even go for lunch.
Absolutely great experience! I went there for brunch for my birthday with a couple of close friends. The food was amazing, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere perfect. I would recommend going for special occasions or date night.
