An out of town guest visited and Herbie's was decided for lunch. He was impressed with the food and service. It is a great place to have lunch and conversation.
Impeccable service, staff, food and fun location. Herbie's made my business trip more memorable!
Duck appetizer was very good and the halibut special was outstanding. The beef Wellington was over cooked and under seasoned
We ate at the corner table in the bar, good people watching and could keep an eye on the ballgame.
Great drinks and appetizers!
Spur of the moment dinner on the way home from the airport after a trip. Food was first rate and the service was friendly and timely. We’ll be back.
Superb in every way - great food, service, ambiance!
I always enjoy the Cuban Sandwich for lunch.
One of my favorite spots for after work cocktails!!!!!!
Great lunch menu
I was an habitué of Balaban's when I lived in St. Louis many years ago and was very sad to see its Central West End space empty, especially now that I'm back and living nearby. But Herbie's made up for the loss! We had a lovely dinner and perfect evening on our April 4 visit. Steven, our waiter, was helpful and brought just the right balance of attentiveness and unintrusiveness. The food was delicious, not to mention in very generous portions. The ambience was just right. We'll be back - often!
The food was very good. The service was not the best.
I would highly recommend, great food and atmosphere. I will go back, a new favorite
This place is always just good enough. It fits the bill. Everything is slightly above average. This isn’t a must go to
The service was excellent. That said, I felt the ambiance and food was average, and the prices above-average.
Service and food first rate. Will definitely return
Great Food and service !
This is our fourth visit to Herbie's and it has become one of our favorite restaurants. The staff is wonderful and the food terrific.
I took the family out for a nice dinner place, and boy did we enjoy Herbie’s!
No one does seafood like this place. Loved it!
Great -welcoming, accommodating, got us seats st the bar and dinner was very good! Generous portions of beautifully seared scallops!
Attentive but not hovering service.
No quiet dinner here! The meal was flavorless; the meat was dry and poorly presented. Walking through the warren finally into the dining room, we had hopes of escaping the loudness of the entry bar so that we could talk comfortably at our table. Nope, the noise followed.
One bright note was watching our server debone the fish one of our company ordered. He was precise and efficient.
Our evening at Herbie's was pleasant enough. Although the noise in the bar/entrance was obnoxiously loud, the dining room was a little quieter. All the staff was courteous, friendly and efficient. However, I would say that the food was only average. I would not come back, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
We went on a Monday night so it was not very well staffed but the staff that was there was extremely pleasant
Butternut ravioli and salmon entrees were great. Service from our waitress to bus person was outstanding and well coordinated. We will definitely return.
This was my third time at Herbie's and, again, they did not disappoint. I usually go for dinner, but this time I went with a group of friends for brunch. The food was delicious, but the service staff and drinks really took this dining experience to the next level. We will be going back very soon. Would recommend for anyone looking for a well prepared meal and a nice ambience.
It was a decent dinner. My husbands Dover sole was excellent. My friend had shrimp and grits and said it was super salty. I had an appetizer of short rib enchiladas that were really tasty and very filling. The table had calamari for a started and it was very good.
I would go to Herbie’s again because the service was outstanding but the cost was about 20% higher than the amount of food and drinks warranted. I would skip the escargot and gluten free bread. The seafood pasta was generous in portion.
We always have a great experience at Herbies and highly recommend
My wife and I had an amazing dinner. She had the short rib and I had my first beef Wellington. It was a little under med rare, but it was so delicious. I would definitely recommend an Old Fashion as well. Our compliments to the Chef!!
Nice atmosphere. Good food and plenty of it for the cost. Staff was very attentive.
We had a terrific evening. I had asked ahead of time for a table for four in the quietest part of the restaurant; my husband wears hearing aids and they do not function for conversation in an ambiently loud situation. The management did a very good job at seating us at a very quiet area. My only quibble is that I had to ask three separate times for my glass of rose for the main course be delivered.
friendly service, excellent food. staff went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied
Dinner - complete menu. Nice live music. Valet parking at a charge. Average salads and appetizers. Poor to regular quality of desserts.
Easy to find. Valet service. great service and the food was terrific. Enjoyed everything we ordered. will returnagain.
One of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis. Every special occasion - Herbies gets the vote!
Consistent and delicious food back to my great wine list. Service is always attentive and pleasurable. Live music was a bonus well played and fit the atmosphere.
Very excellent food and service. Perfect to cap off a Valentines Day with my wife.
We enjoyed the meal, but overall too much salt. Otherwise excellent wine selection, friendly and professional service.
Everything was perfect! We enjoyed our food and the wine list had just what we wanted.
After eating out at a different restaurant the night before, it was nice to be able to speak to our dining friends and be heard! The service was great and the tables are nicely separated so you don’t feel crowded. We’ll be back!
Went recently for a Saturday Brunch, which was far less crowded & way more mellow than Sundays. The Lobster Frittata was worth every penny & our server Regan was wonderful!
