Went for jyst a general evening meal. Wife ordered fish and chips which she said were average not bad. I had the Mac and cheese with chicken added that was 17.00. Kraft Mac and cheese would have been just as good and chicken wss very dry, way over priced. Once waiter served our food he didn't have our sons pizza and he said it would be right out. 10 minutes later it came out. I asked if he forgot and said no, the kitchen was running behind. Less than 1/3 full place, I think he forgot and lied to cover. Not going back unless i want a beer and beer only.
When we arrived one host was up front. She was on the phone with a guests. She seemed like she might have been new as she put the guest on hold. We told her we had a reservation and the name. The other host comes back and they both continue with the guest on hold, one talking to them and the other entering the information into the computer. We just stood there being ignored. Very unprofessional. Guest that are standing in front of you should be taken care of first. We got seated and greeted in a timely manner. We ordered the appetizer and wanted to wait to order dinner. The server comes back a little while later to get our order. Our appetizer comes out and right behind came out dinner. Wasn’t thrilled about that. We asked for ranch for the appetizer from the server who was taking care of the table right next to ours. Our server came by a few minutes later to check on us. We told him we asked for ranch and he said ok if it doesn’t come I’ll go get you some. Guess what? It never came nor did our server come back until we were done. We told him we never got the ranch and he ran off to go get some. It was too late. He was nice enough. We used to come here a lot but probably won’t be coming back anymore. The servers look sloppy like they don’t care about appearance, don’t look happy to be there, just aren’t hospitable. No manager insight. Very disappointed on all levels from the host stand to the service.
The smokers stood by the front door so the smell kept blowing in. Service was super slow and we waited for 40 minutes for cold food. French fries tasted like old oil and bread was hard as a rock. So disappointing and wouldn't go back. Iced tea tasted old, ordered a Sprite and it was flat. Never got a water refill. Server was overwhelmed.
We went on Christmas with 9 people as they advertised being open with Christmas specials. The service was incredibly slow despite being pretty empty. We didn't get the right silverware for the food we were eating and had to get up and ask for drink refills. The food was ok aside from the steak which was super tough. Maybe they're better on an average day but they dropped the ball for the holidays so much it's not worth trying again.
Henry's is a regular choice for my family, but it didn't meet expectations this time. The food came out cold to mildly warm. The decorative sauce on my kung pao chicken had already congealed on the plate when it was brought out. My wife's salmon was cool on the edges but still warm in the center. It was Christmas Eve (and we didn't want to wait while sending the food back) so maybe the kitchen was understaffed/slow, who knows, but they weren't terribly busy in the dining area as most people were huddled around the bar. We'll be back, I just hope this isn't the start of a decline in quality. Something to watch for.
We had a reservation for 4 following a movie and ended up 6 of us but we were still seated quickly. We were having a lively conversation and enjoying our drinks but the food we ordered was taking an extraordinary amount of time. In fact we sat for an hour after ordering the food. The wait staff kept apologizing and finally the food came and was good. Management elected to comp our meal and we appreciated that with a generous tip to the wait staff. We will return.
Went to celebrate Thanksgiving with a friend. We were really looking forward to the Thanksgiving meal advertised on their website. When we got there there was no mention of their Thanksgiving dinner. We had to ask the waitress if they were serving it! She went to grab the special menu but informed us they were out of sweet potatoes...a Thanksgiving staple! There was also no bread - another tradition missed. When we asked to substitute a side for the missing sweet potatoes, we were told there would be an up-charge because the other items weren’t part of the holiday packaged plate. Made no sense. Once we finally ordered the meal, it took 30 minutes to bring me a glass of house wine I ordered. The food took about an hour to arrive and was cold. Both of our turkeys had hard, gristly, fatty pieces to them. It also made my friend sick for over a day. Just ridiculous-ness. We felt like we were at a 1 star all you can eat buffet restaurant that was extremely overpriced for the poor quality we experienced. So much for the special occasion dining we though Henry’s could deliver given their location in the Shops of Legacy.
Overall, it was a very disappointing way to celebrate the holiday with lackluster food and server. We will never ever be back and will make sure and tell everyone we know about the horrible experience so they won't go either.
The food for the most part was below average. We had the lunch specials. The 1/2 sandwiches were small and not very tasty. The Rueben was not very good. The chili was okay. The salad that my wife had was almost unbeatable.
The lunch special did not include French fries which were part of the regular sandwich order.
Overall, the ambience was great. The food was not very good
We were there during the happy hour time (which is uneventful as not all drinks are on it and there's a limited bar menu that's included). They had trouble getting a small order correct -- a cheeseburger medium rare and fries well done. They reversed this for food that took a very long time to get. Unless you got the one beer of the day, the prices were every day prices, overpriced for draft. We had the option of going to Gordon Biersch down the path of restaurants and will from now on.
We've been to Henry's several times so it was nothing new. We went the night of a NBA playoff game so it was pretty packed and the vibe was fun. Just wasn't a fan of the service. Server saw that my drink had spilled but didn't even offer a replacement or ask if I wanted something else. She filled my husbands alcoholic drink with water not even asking or thinking. It was a busy night so I get it but she needed to be more aware.
My family and our friends went for Brunch on Easter. This was horrible and a very strange experience. The menu offerings were usual with no starch or vegetables. When I asked where the vegetables were she said our new chef wanted to change this year up so offering a new menu. She did have the kitchen prepare some grilled vegetables. The price was $27.95 for adults and $11.95 for children. We left unsatisfied and feeling ripped off.
This restaurant I'm sure if fine for happy hour but it should not try a offering that they are not good at, like brunch.
We had a reservation for "the Easter brunch" it was not crowded but they were out of a lot of the food items. The food they had was not very good. We complained and left without being charged which was decent of them but seems we were not the first to complain. The staff was nice but I was very disappointed that I choose to take my family for what should have been a nice brunch and it was so bad we had to leave and find another place to eat.
The server was amazing I didn't quite get her name, however she's tall ,slender ,blond hair, middle aged. She was a great waitress 100% advise to get her. However the food was horrendous. I recommend the salmon it is an excellent choice. However anything dealing with french fries I would advise to stay away from. The french fries were undercooked and the portion size was very small. As much as I love the service I will no longer be returning, the food is just not worth it.
This was our first time at Henry's Tavern. We came here mainly because I saw online that they had gluten free pizza (I'm allergic to wheat), only to find out after we were seated that it was no longer available, which was very disappointing. I chose another item, which was very good, but
please update your website so that people with food allergies don't show up expecting to be able to get a particular item they're interested in.
It took a little while for our server to arrive and then when he asked for our drink order, he walked away before we could order an appetizer. The restaurant was out of a burger we tried to order and was out of one of the beers that was supposed to be included on our flight. That was disappointing, but overall the experience was more positive than negative.
