Henry's Tavern - Plano Ratings and Reviews
The hostess was so rude! We asked to move to bigger table for the 4 of us and she said the other round booths were for 5 and walked away. It was not busy and my friend is 6'4 so we needed more room. Our waitress helped us move to a bigger table. That was our first impression. The rest was good!!
The wait staff was helpful and attentive, as well as very courteous. The Happy Hour prices also seemed reasonable, but the lunch prices were rather high, especially considering that it's mostly pub fare. My family had a pleasant dining experience overall, but we may or may not return.
Took my boss to lunch. The server impressed by not only getting the order from memory but over heard her say to me that she hoped the bread was not too well toasted and let the kitchen know to light toast the bread. He checked with her after the sandwich arrived to make sure it was to her liking. Made me look good. Thanks a bunch.
Food was fine. Had a party of 5, 2 of which were children. Most of the staff just seemed put out by us. I understand it's Christmas and they may not have felt like working, but that is no excuse.
Never offered sides
Never offered desserts
Had to ask for several requested items repeatedly. Like lemon wedges.
I went on Thanksgiving to have an early dinner with my mother and fiance. The food was very good, but nothing super special. The beer selection was one of the best I've seen. We sat in the main dining area and there were a few TVs at a moderate viewing distance. If going to watch a game you might be better off sitting near the bar. It would be a good place to go with a small group and have conversation.
We had a very large round table for our party of 8. Everyone enjoyed the food - lots of variety. However, we couldn't hear each other and some of us left hoarse trying to shout over all the noise. Don't think we will return for a dinner but definitely would be a great place to watch a game.
The food was good, service was great, we watched part of the Cowboy's game. The temperature was so uncomfortable we could not stand it - FREEZING! We ended up walking to a nearby place that was a normal temperature and had more drinks while we watched the rest of the game. Women hate to be cold. I had a sweatshirt on too! Just miserable, I think I am getting a sinus infection from it. I cannot refer any of my female friends, they would hate it too.
Sunday evening and both bars seemed busy and loud for the NBA Finals game, but the dining room was dead. Apps (poutine, S&A dip) were good but the dinner was just so-so. We didn't extend ourselves into the high $$ entrees and maybe that's where we screwed up because the sandwiches and salads were bland and not worth the $12-18 price tag. Too many other great choices in the area to go back again.
I chose this restaurant because the menu sounded good and it had a 4 star rating. It didn't live up to that rating. The food was marginal at best and they ran out of two kinds of wine that I ordered. The best thing about this restaurant was that the server was good.
Food was good. My son ordered chicken tenders and bbq chips. The bbq Chips were so spicey he could nit eat them. We had to order him a side of French fries. Our waitress kept disappearing. We needed our drinks filled and no was around to do it. I was so happy they did not have a live music till 9:00. This place is loud especially with live music. I am glad ow wasn't going on while we were eating.
I've eaten at Henry's a few times. This was the worst experience. Service was slow. It was busy, but there were empty tables. A restaurant wants to be busy, right? It should thrive not fall apart when it's busy. And when you say you're serving corned beef and cabbage ...one doesn't expect sauerkraut, unless one has ordered a Rueben. It will be a while before come back, if ever. Too many options.
My wife and I have been to Henry's many times. We have consistently had good food, good service, and great atmosphere. We took our friend for her birthday and she loved everything. The food was again excellent. The pepperoni pizza was very good, cheeseburger was the best I have had in a long time, and the fish and chips were outstanding. We even had an ice cream sandwich for dessert which too was very very good. Our waiter Chris was exceptional and very attentive to all our needs.
I had ordered Orange Chicken and they delivered Kung Pao chicken dish. They took it back and I told them just to make Mongollian Beef which my dinner partner had ordered and it looked great. When mine was delivered it look like the Kung Pau sauce with beef. It was very spicy and you could see the red peppers. I was disappointed. The manager came by and I mentioned it but no correction offered. Next Time I think I will stick with a standard dish.
