Henry's is my go to for delicious comfort food. I've never had a bad meal there whether it be brunch, lunch or dinner.
We love Henry's. We come here every trip to New York. Never had a disappointing meal.
One guest uses a walker and finds the stairs to/from the bathroom facilities prevent her from visiting Henry's any more.
A friendly neighborhood spot with excellent pub grub, efficient service, and a fun vibe.
Always a total pleasure at Henry’s. Never noisy but with a healthy buzz. Food and especially service are topnotch.
Owner Henry delightful and welcoming.
We love Henry's. The food is always very good, the cocktails and wine first-rate, the service attentive, the noise level low.
Three of us had a quick dinner before an event at Columbia. My friends each had the hamburger and a beer. They described the burger as well cooked and flavorful. I had the artisanal rice bowl, a tasty combination of rice, quinoa, Brussels sprouts, Swiss chard, asparagus, fennel salad and a hard boiled egg. It was delicious and filling. We were in a bit of a hurry so we skipped dessert.
Great dining experience. Henry even came by the table to see how everything was going. The food was tasty and the staff congenial. Great Neighborhood gem.
Turns out my guest - who had also made a reservation which was handled nicely - had been in a show with one of the waiters (when the waiter was 12...). A nice gentle reunion.
The ambiance is friendly and the food was very good.
the margarita that was served to our table was bizarre to say the least - it was sent back and graciously a replacement cocktail was provided
Enjoyed, as usual, having a wonderful meal at Henry's!
Love going to Henry’s, as always. The food is terrific and I love the ambience. Service has gone down, however: our waiter forgot to bring bread till we asked, forgot my husband’s beer totally, and other waiters too lacked focus - are they being trained enough? Waiters used to be skilled, attentive, and customer- oriented - even delightfully friendly.
Henry's has a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. I've come here several times for brunch and always enjoy the good food and friendly service.
Henry's is the best restaurant in my neighborhood. The place is pleasant and comfortable, and the food is always very well prepared. The service is cordial and efficient, though at times a little slow. Over all, to eat there is a very satisfactory experience.
This is always my neighborhood go-to for meeting friends, and I have enjoyed everything I've ever ordered there. I'll be there again, likely, very soon. Last week I went there twice.
Interesting menu but some what pricey for a casual meal at a neighborhood joint. We were a bit taken a back to see that wine was $14/glass . However, our food was excellent and very well prepared. I had a shrimp and linguini entree with olives, broccoli rabe and pesto in a light white wine better sauce which was excellent--light and tasty. My friend enjoyed her hamburger which looked thick and juicy. Although I rarely order hamburgers when eating out, this looked so good I am temped to order one next rime I am here. Service was good--waiters were attentive but not intrusive, The tables are relatively well-spaced for a Manhattan restaurant; however when the restaurant is full (it often attracts families with children and largish parties) it can be noisy. However, the night were there, the restaurant was blissfully empty and quiet
I do love Henry's. For my money it's the ideal neighborhood joint.
Went for a nice neighborhood quite brunch- my dad and bros bday - was happy to have a table to accommodate all 8 of us. We bumped into a cousin of ours and invited her to pull up a chair with her baby son- she wasn't going to stay - only chat. The hostess felt the need to come over and let us know that she thought by having the additional person/half it would be "encroaching" on the other diners experience.... Meanwhile the table behind us had 42 people with infants, babies, kids, teens, adults, and elderly people. The meal was good - the hostess word choice was inappropriate. Easy fix/ be nice people. Life is short - chillax.
The food here is always outstanding, from great burgers to sophisticated dishes. We’ve had them all over the years, most recently some great East Coast oysters followed by a yummy jambalaya. Make that very yummy, and I used to live in New Orleans.
Always a lovely dinner. I'm a semi-regular and wish I could go as much as I used to. Food is consistently good, and I really enjoyed the domestic only wine list. A real American bistro!
Very comfortable relaxing with good food. Good service, great ambience.
Food and service were great. Henry’s is spacious and gracious with a varied menu and good wine selections.
Really nice atmosphere. Music playing at level where people at table did not have to yell to be heard. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the food was excellent. The place was busy but still left plenty of room between tables so that one does not get banged into by fellow diners or wait staff. Overall, just the experience we were looking for.
Have enjoyed Henry's many time. However, this last Saturday evening service was very slow and omitted extra plates and utensils and it took three tries to get hot coffee.
I love Henry's but, forgive me, not so much when there's music, even lovely music. I go to Henry's for peace and quiet. I can't fault them for wanting to provide fine entertainment for their guests, but there were fewer folks than usual this past Saturday -- this is a very popular neighborhood place and we all want to support it -- and I kept wondering whether the music was just a little too loud. It's generally my favorite place to take my friends, so I am not discouraged. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if I were in the minority. The food was good as was the service.
Henry's is amazing. The perfect neighborhood eatery with a wonderfully diverse menu and incredible service. Delicious food and great place to enjoy meals with friends. Service is spectacular and both Henry and our server Randy made the evening even more special! Thank you!!1
Henry's has good food, excellent service, and a nice ambiance. I highly recommend it for everything from a casual night out to a special occasion.
Everything wonderful, but an awful choice of music for fine dining
Still best ambiance for a dinner with friends, able to converse through the meal.
However, service is slipping, with orders left incomplete, overall quite slow, drink orders forgotten, lengthy periods of time when no server approached our table (making it impossible to have oversights corrected), charges on tab for items that were not served even though ordered.
Also I thought some of the food was too salty.
staff was super friendly and food was great, they have some amazing events coming up as well.
We love Henry's! It's such an asset to the neighborhood. Henry's has good food and a friendly ambiance. It also has lots of space, which means that one can hear a conversation. There's a pleasant background buzz; it's not that it's silent. The noise level is just perfect!
We often stop in and eat at the bar, and we really enjoy that as well. Another plus: Henry's serves food from lunch time through midnight (or sometimes beyond). Sure, the "in between" menu is more limited, but it's a great option for an afternoon bite.
Overall: great place!
Even with our reservation, our group had to wait more than 40 minutes before being seated. The food was delicious but the hostess was not very helpful.
Reliable UWS fixture, great selection, good wine list, reasonable prices. The food is always very good and the service matches it. We met our grown children at Henry's for dinner on a Sunday evening, early. We've always enjoyed the food and tonight was no exception: delicious steaks with the best fries in town, a remarkably tasty kale salad with salmon, great pasta choices and excellent soups. The place was understaffed and yet the manager, hostess, bus people - everybody, really - covered well and things only really slowed down at dessert, when the place was packed. Henry's is very well run, both the kitchen and the dining room (I need to spend more time at the bar to comment there.) We all agreed, we'd be back.
A favorite neighborhood hangout -- always have a good experience here. Delicious and interesting food, very roomy and comfortable, and one of the quieter restaurants even though always busy.
Love this local restaurant however we were there on one of the coldest days of the year and when we asked that they turn up the heat they apologized explaining it was in the process of being repaired. While the food and ambiance are wonderful we were very cold and I comfortable the entire time. An offer to Comp us for tea or coffee or something would have been a nice gesture.
This was our fourth visit to Henry's. We will be going back again.
Happy with everything, except we would prefer if the music could be limited to the bar area. It interfered with our conversation.
We've been here many times, because we like the NY brasserie atmosphere from the 70's, the consistent food quality, and the largely reliable service.
As native nyc residents having decided not to travel for New Year’s Eve this year, we were looking for somewhere new to go for a nice dinner removed from the Times Square crowds. Henry’s came up on Open Table and the fine line between comfy atmosphere and special occasion appealed to us. The staff were super kind and the food was absolutely delicious. Fun ambiance- not too stuffy but still classy. Although the prix fixe menu looked tempting, we opted for the a la carte so we could share a variety of dishes. While we enjoyed everything, we Highly recommend the ratatouille and chocolate hazelnut mousse if they are available when you visit. Very nice start to our New Year’s Eve.
Always great to be at Henry's--great American wines, great service, great food. Very festive and welcoming on New Year's
