First time in a restaurant for dinner in well over a year!!
I am a professional Matchmaker. Myself and my colleagues send out hundreds of dates every single month all over the country. I chose to send clients to this location because of the proximity, the ambiance, the menu and the reservation service. After my clients left, I received a message from the restaurant telling me “Next time you send people to this restaurant, make sure they order dinner.” First of all, I have also been involved in the restaurant industry for 20 years and would never send a message to someone after they dined and I certainly wouldn’t be rude to someone who sent clients there. They got drinks and an appetizer. If you would like to control how little or how much a table orders, please post it publicly- as it is not posted at this restaurant on OpenTable or their website. My clients were not rude, they didn’t sit for 5 hours while others waited. We made a reservation on a Thursday evening. I have never received a message from a restaurant this way and after speaking with my fellow Matchmakers, we certainly will not ever send our clients to this location. I was absolutely appalled at the unprofessional behavior displayed here.
Great service and food. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only problem I had was with the dessert. I had the cobbler and the tiramisu and they were very basic. Other than that the dinner and the appetizers were a-1.
Pricey but the ambience and service was very good
Good food, wonderful service. The bread was especially delicious. Lovely touch. They also served a piece of matzoh and charoset to honor Passover.
They still have the game menu so we had the turtle soup. I had a wild game cassoulet; my wife had steak Diane. They’ve expanded their wine list considerably beyond the US and there were a lot of good wines from Bordeaux and other regions. They were very smart in building a take-out business when restaurants were closed but it’s good to be back in person.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said. Absolutely amazing, we get the chance to eat at Henry’s End a few times a year and have always had an amazing meal. The entire experience from the waitstaff to the drinks and food is perfect. I did enjoy the ambiance of the old restaurant but the new place has a very comfortable feel to it. We will always be coming back to get our Henry’s End fix. If you like duck, please try it here. It’s the best!!!!
The food was not up to Henry End's usual standards. Perhaps it was due to circumstances relating to the pandemic. Otherwise the experience was pleasant enough.
One of my all-time favorite restaurants and not just because the food is outstanding. The unique preparation, flavors and generous portions make this a gastronomic pleasure. The staff are as welcoming and pleasant as you can wish for. Can't deny I miss the coziness of the old place I frequented for many decades, but happy they now have outdoor seating in these challenging times.
The best New York Strip in Brooklyn. Glad we found this place will try my best to come at least once a month.
Great local neighborhood spot! Owner is lovely, food always fresh and well prepared. They usually have some nice specials and always a great wine list. Lots of outdoor tables.
Food is okay
Outstanding!
I have enjoyed Henry's End since moving to Brooklyn in 1984. The food and service always wonderful
Henry’s End has been in the neighborhood for a long time and the food is consistently good as is the service. We sat outside and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had leftovers that we were excited to heat up for WFH lunch time.
An always dependable restaurant with great food and service
Always an amazing spot. Love the variety of game and thoughtful wine selections.
Yet again, Henry’s End hits a home run. From staff to service to food, everything is great.
As for eating indoors, all Covid safety measures were followed providing a safe and relaxing environment to once again enjoy a great dining experience.
Great food and service, amazing wine list and a very old Brooklyn ambiance. Would eat here three times a week if I could.
Great experience. Great wine selection. We enjoyed every bite. Will return soon!!!!
It was a very cold night for outdoor seating!
Enjoyed our meal In the new outdoor chalet. Food was excellent as was service and wine.
Everyone in my family loves my birthday, because a longstanding tradition is a very special treat -- Henry's End. We love the food, the atmosphere, the friendly staff and the excellent service. We were fortunate to get an outdoor table that felt utterly private, with excellent heaters so we weren't cold. A memorable evening. Much as I hate getting old, I'd be willing to have two birthdays a year so I could have them at Henry's End.
The food is very good and there are things on the menu that are hard to come by like game: elk, venison, boar. Everything is delicious but it’s prohibitively expensive and the mains are a la carte and don’t come with sides so add that on to a $45 plate of steak.
The ambiance is suffering due to the pandemic of course but additionally I find it too bright and there is a hideous neon sign that gave me a migraine - very 80s and wishy washy. I think I liked their old space better, it had more charm w the open kitchen. Here you watch the poor wait staff run up and down the stairs AND outside. However, it’s not really fair to judge the vibe when half the tables are gone and the rest have plexiglass panels in between them.
All that said, we would go back - it’s a good special occasion option and you can rely on the food.
They do a great Wild Game Festival in February. Highly recommend it for the chance to try some incredible food.
Great food and service as usual!
I've always been a big fan of Henry's End but this time the food was disappointing. It was not up to the standard that I remember. The food was bland and not as delicious as I remembered. The service was great as always but the food was not.
Even sitting outside with snow in front of us, we had a lovely meal with lovely service within Henry's End's new "chalet." I can't wait until eating indoors will be possible. However, we relish being able to enjoy a good meal even if al fresco (as long as there's a heater nearby).
Excellent food, service & atmosphere. Been dining here for 30 years.
Been going to Henry's End for over a decade. Always a lovely, classic experience. Turtle soup and veal lemonese are the best!!!
perfect first night back to indoor dining for us.
great food & service. we really enjoyed it.
After not dining at Henry’s End for many years, I wanted to go to a Landmark restaurant for the 1st night after a long time without dining. It was lovely experience, the food remains excellent and the service was kind and tentative.
Delicious food and great heating/outdoor dining set up!
I've been coming here since 1998 and it's maintained its character and quality throughout. My most recent visit was dinner in Feb when it was 30 degrees outside and didn't feel like I'd sacrificed anything. Love this place and will continue to show up for another 25 years!
The heaters kept us toasty outside and the service and food, as always, were outstanding!
Always a fantastic experience. Great and Covid-safe outdoor setup.
Fantastic food (particularly during Game Season)
Lovely cocktail and great wine
Just pleased I'm still able to go during COVID
Great outdoor dining experience. Even in with rain & temperatures in the 40s we were warm & dry next to a heat lamp. Had to shed layers it was so toasty. And, of course the food was delicious & there was the customary excellent service. You can't go wrong with a dinner at Henry's End!!!
Henry's End never disappoints! Great wine selection, phenomenal food and nice ambiance. Definitely a Brooklyn Heights best!!
Always excellent food and service. I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to have a great meal.
