Henry's 12th Street Tavern Ratings and Reviews
The food and our waitress was awesome! We were celebrating my son's 21st birthday with family and some friends and Henry's really met our needs of being cool enough for him, but also youth friendly (had a few under 21 with us) and our older attendees. The menu is robust with lots of options, everyone found something and enjoyed their meals. Our waitress did a great job attending to our larger group, had lots of beer and wine recommendations (she really knew her stuff). We enjoyed the Gorgonzola Cheese Fries, Fried Cheese Curds, which I highly recommend, both are delicious appetizers.
The only issue we experienced was around our reservation, I made it on OpenTable for 10, and then called shortly after to add 1 more to the reservation, the gentleman who took the call said "great all taken care of/confirmed", when in reality he actually cancelled the reservation (I'm sure it was totally an accident)... but when our group of 11 showed up- the front receptionist was a bit snippy suggesting that we hadn't make the reservation/had no record of it, sort of like "ya right" attitude. Thankfully OpenTable sends an email confirmation, and I had my phone's call log handy which clearly showed that we DID have a reservation... so they had to do a little scrambling to get our table(s) together, but in the end problem solved and we had a great spot that really fit the group nicely!! Other than that, wonderful 21st birthday dinner.
I would highly recommend Henry's for their food, ambiance and wait staff who were really knowledgeable, attentive and super friendly!
Beer! So much good beer!! Apparently there are 100+ beers on tap at any given time... something like 60 on the list, a seasonal list & a specials list. Servers are friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is cheerful and gregarious. Our food choices - very pub-oriented menu - were pretty good. Cheddar & beer soup is outstanding - stringy cheese and rich taste; fish tacos were crispy on the inside and well seasoned with tangy mango salsa that made a good contrast; and an excellent vegetarian burger with waffle fries covered in Gorgonzola sauce. Hearty, filling food that compliments beer well. Desserts were not typical run of the mill selections - we didn't try them but will next time. Overall a fun, energetic restaurant with good food and amazing beers on tap and a modern, downtown vibe.
We often visit the bar and love it. This was my first time in the main restaurant and it will be my last. Service was slow, not very friendly and incorrect. We were celebrating a birthday and nothing was done. It was a very disappointing visit and I would not recommend the main restaurant to anyone.
The food was so good. The service not so much. We got sat in the top right corner of the restaurant next to a party of 10 they were very loud server was more interested in helping them. Feels a little cramped up in the corner. This will not stop us from going again the food is amazing.
Food was great per usual.
We came for a bite and drinks before the theatre. Our service was excellent. Tyler took very good care of us and got us out the door in time to walk to Artist's Rep. Theatre for our 7:30 pm performance. Looking forward to coming again and bringing more friends next time.
Ordered gluten free burger, chef accidentally put breaded onions it. Had reaction and needed Benadryl. Ill for a few days. Everyone else's food was perfect. Waitress and manager we very apologetic. Would go there again but would carefully check food. Once bites... twice shy.
The food was excellent. We all had something different and one couple wanted to split a sandwich with a salad which they did without hassle. All the food was tasty fresh and everyone ate everything on their plates. Quite good. Salads, fish, club sandwich, and a bowl of veggies with fish on top. Drinks were also as we expected.
We met friends on Labor Day for their Restaurants Unlimited points club. On holiday weekends they usually give triple points. We started out sharing the chicken lettuce wraps. Very tasty and generous portion. My friend ordered Garlic Buttered Steelhead from the "fresh offerings" which was charcoal grilled with Kale & Quinoa side. The tomato gastrique was to die for. Her husband had the seared Ahi which is always good. My man and I shared a sausage and mushroom pizza and topped that off with a slice of key lime pie. Our waiter Zach was outstanding! He paced the meal perfectly and refreshed our cocktails quickly. That is getting to be a rare quality in most places unless you're paying $30/plate.
Food was good but overpriced. I was told by Henry's that all appetizers would be half priced all day Sunday. When I asked waitress about this, she said they were only available in the bar area. We had made reservations with this in mind but we were unaware of the "bar" being the only place for this. We had two 20 year old grand daughters with us and they were not allowed in the bar. Alas...no half priced items for us. This was disappointing to all.
