Henry's 12th Street Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Very few gluten free options, but the blackened steelhead was very nice. Unfortunately, the server dropped off the bill without offering dessert or drinks, so we had to ask her back. Once dessert was served, she just dropped off the check again. We gave up at that point and paid. (There were lots of empty tables, so not sure what the rush was about).
We tried Henry's again because we had a nice experience at a prior lunch and we had a great lunch again. My wife had the kale/veggie salad bowl and I had the chicken tacos and both were very good. We topped it off with their wow key lime pie, it is the best!
We had a reservation but it took them extra time to seat us because we asked to sit on the main level rather than upstairs (because we had my elderly father with us). We let the server very kindly know we had to be done within an hour. He said he was putting our order in right away and then it was in the hands of the kitchen. We said we understand~thank you! We were seated right by the kitchen watching all the orders be put up and taken out by servers. We ordered a salad (no cooking required), street tacos and a burger. Basically not a major amount of cooking needed. Took about 45 minutes from the time the order went in till it was ready. Long story short we didn't get to eat our meal and barely had time to put it in boxes before we walked out. They also forgot to leave tomatoes off the burger. Seems like we fell through the cracks. It was an unfortunate experience.
This is a favorite of ours m, esp for late night. We might have to rethink this as this is the second time (in a row) that things seem to be falling off. First, some good- great beer list(bonus points if you never ever run out of Mac and Jack as I just can’t take it). Menu has improved - good choices, organized etc
This trip. Service started great. Food deliver by the woman working the line. Food sat there for over 15 min under heat. Why? Because the burger needed waffle fries. And the line server asked twice. Ever eaten a gluten free bun that sat under a light for 15 min? And how about that cold pickle. ettuce and tomato. Ugh
Set ups( napkins and flatware). After we asked twice. The person who ordered ribs asked whether she could have a wet wipe. Nope but offered to wet a bar napkin. Okkkkk
10:30 and mostly empty, why put us next to the kitchen.
First of all they cancelled my reservation after I told them we were there for a reservation. Our waitress was not super friendly. When I asked her which entree was better between two options she had to go to the kitchen to see if they had the ingredients for either recipe. When she came back she said they didn’t have the items for either recipe due to their food delivery being late. We should have walked out at that time because it just got worse. We placed our order with her and waited. She took forever to refill our drinks and completely forgot about the beer I ordered and I had to remind her. When I placed my food order I asked for no tomatoes. When the food got to our table, there were still tomatoes in it. The manager came over and was very nice. He said the kitchen would remake it and brought me a free cup of chili. When the new item came out, the noodles were improperly cooked. At this point, it was comical. At the end of the meal the manager said he would give us a complimentary dessert which was nice but it didn’t make things better. When we finally got our check after being there for more than an hour and 15 minutes, we gave our card. It took the waitress 10 minutes or more until we asked for our card back for her to bring our check. Overall, the service by the waitress was an absolute disaster. Would not touch this place with a 10 foot poll.
Friendly service, good beers, pub atmosphere. The food is good but not great. You would think a place like this would have good french fries, but they were dry and mealy. The pub pretzel is worth sharing as it is baked fresh. The food is pretty much "by the book". A pleasant enough meal but not memorable.
Great place to dine and have drinks, normally. Busy evening. We arrived for our reservation 5:30. Our waiter was aware we needed to leave by 6:55, at the latest. We hardly saw him. He took our order, then *Poof, gone the remainder of our dinner. He checked in once -on a running flyby, never to receive our round of drinks or return till we were all standing and waiting for the hostess to bring back my visa. (had to pay someone)
Subpar service. Disappointing. Food was good.
A disappointing dining experience at Henry’s. We had 6:15 reservations and sat down on time. Told the waitress we had a 7:30 theatre show to see and ordered our food shortly after. It took 30 minutes to get our food.. a burger, salad, sushi roll and fish tacos. The food was fair, little to no dressing on salad, they couldn’t find soy sauce for the sushi so we finally got some packets. We had about 12 minutes to inhale some food which we didn’t finish due to time. Not a pleasant experience. Had to rush out to make the show. The restaurant was not crowded at the time. Overall, not a good experience.
We have been there a few times and have liked it. I feel they have gone downhill a bit. Service wasn't the greatest. It took us 45 minutes to get 2 beers - after they brought 2 wines that we didn't order -- twice. When we asked if they could bring the beer, the waitress snapped at us. We got a different waiter and he did a great job. Food was so/so - a little too salty. Portland has so many great restaurants that Henry's might want to step up the food quality to get back to where they were
