Henry's 12th Street Tavern
Really tasty meal. They were very amenable to allow us to share our selections, including splitting the portions and providing separate plates. Our waitress did a great job.
Mother’s Day dinner
We returned for our second Mother’s Day brunch and enjoyed it just as much.
Mother’s Day, beautiful place, food was underwhelming
I have been here before and the food and staff are always good and friendly. But when we were the for Mother’s Day, it was below average. Our table was put together very poorly. The tables were so wobbly that we had to ask staff to stack coasters level it. And the chairs were broken. You would think staff would of seen this putting the table together. And the food was awful. My husband orders the fish and chips-fish was barely there cause the batter was too thick. Chicken blt club was moist but tasted like water with absolutely no flavor, calamari was under cooked so it was just mushy. Kids had pizzas and the crust was very doughy. It was an awful experience and a VERY expensive one at that.
I ordered crispy cod taco and the batter on the cod is very thick, I barely can taste the fish. I don't think it's worth $18.
Very nice, good food, great service, busy
It was louder than usual due to prom night, which also slowed down the kitchen. The wait staff worked really hard to stay on top of it, and the food was great, as always.
Perfect spot on Easter when we couldn’t be home
My friends and I went to Henry's 12th Street Tavern this past weekend for a friend's birthday. They all enjoyed the food and atmosphere and value. However, I personally had some issues with the waitstaff. I have a variety of food allergies and the waiter was not knowledgeable about the menu to know the answers about whether or not my allergens were in the meal and I had to ask the waiter three times to check with the kitchen to get an answer on whether or not the meal I would like to order is free of my allergies. Additionally, I did not receive my meal until about 15 minutes after everyone at my table had, so everyone then had to wait for me to finish my meal. The restaurant ended up comping my meal, which was very nice. However, I think the restaurant should provide some sort of allergen menu so the waitstaff do not have to be asked multiple times to check on something.
Great meal and service. Appreciated the gluten free options. Orange chicken was awesome!
Great food, excellent service, fair prices. Love this place so much! Gorgonzola fries with the BBQ burger is soooo good, making my mouth water as I write this!
It was great
Took extremely long for waiter to get checks and stop by table, otherwise love the food and environment. Waiter was extremely friendly and outgoing.
Good food. Good service. The drinks were good too. We had a group of 7 and the food was brought out quickly
Absolutely wonderful! The food, atmosphere and service were great! Will definitely be back soon.
It was my first time at this venue. Parking was difficult to find in Portland and it wasn't even a weekend. The restaurant itself had a nice ambiance. The waitress was very attentive and good, although it took more time than usual for the food to arrive. I had the full rack of ribs, which were outstanding and I ate them for 3 nights. When asked which side I preferred I was given several options. I'd return for sure.
Great service. We waited quite a long time to receive our appetizer and order but the servers/manager were wonderful. They noticed this and apologized, that was appreciated. :) The only issue that affected our dining experience was that we were seated next to the door and when a very large group was waiting to be seated they were overflowing into our table area, pretty much watching us eat very closely. Overall great food and experience in general though!!! One of our favorite places to go!
We absolutely love this Henry’s tavern- we had to take our daughter this time and really the only thing is the kids menu is not great so we had a hard time with that. Otherwise awesome place food is great service is good ! We will be going back !
Although the food was great, I was a bit dissatisfied by how long we had to wait for our table. I was celebrating my birthday and made a reservation for 15 people but still waited 30 minutes past my reservation time. There was no offer of a discount to make up for the time wasted. My party waited in a very crowded bar attached and basically stood there, uncomfortable and in the way, with people trying to enjoy their experience around us.
Food and service was great. We were able to walk to Harvey’s Comedy club after.
A perfect evening!
Enjoyed a business lunch. Location, service and the food were great.
Henry's is my first choice for either a business lunch or social gathering in The Pearl.
Always a great choice for dining in the Pearl District.
Good, basic food with no unknown surprises. Good, friendly service. Key lime pie a standout.
The music was pretty loud for a light midday. Food was just OK. Ordered the Gorgonzola Fries, they were tasty but could’ve been hotter. The Elk Burger was a bit gamey, & my cup of soup was over salted and wasn’t hot at all. The server outright told us the kitchen forgot to make my friend’s burger. How do you forget 1 out of 2 burgers? Whatever...it was remedied quickly, and it was the only food item served hot. I guess we can at least put that in the win column.
Delicious food, service was fine, the waitress just seemed like she was in a hurry even though the restaurant didn’t seem that busy
Greetings Daneb, Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and pointing this out, we appreciate you taking the time to helping us get better. Please let us know if the next visit is better! Cheers!
We had a delicious dinner with our friends. The staff was very attentive and we will go back. The only problem...another table that had small children that screamed and cried through the whole dinner! I realize Henry's does not have control over this but people should be more considerate. I have children and I would never have kept them in the restaurant with this behavior. I do recommend Henry's for any occasion!
I have been a long time patron of Henry's both at the PDX and downtown locations. Was super excited to take my fiancée here for Valentines Day to celebrate the holiday as well as our recent engagement. The restaurant wasn't very busy as it was still early about 5:30 was our reservation. We were led down to a small table in the back corner of the restaurant, very gloomy and not romantic at all. I asked if we could get a table by a window for a little more ambiance and a view. I was told no and that they were pretty full that night. I looked behind me and there were open table all along the windows and I said "Really?" She asked us to wait and she would check. Eventually we were shown to a table by a window. The server was super nice but not knowledgeable about questions my fiancée asked. We ordered a simple couple entrees - a salad with a piece of steelhead on it, and a hamburger tomatoes on the side and add bacon. The food eventually showed up but there was no fish on the salad and my hamburger had tomatoes on the burger and no bacon. We mentioned the fish was missing but said nothing about the burger just figured we would just forget that. Her salad finally showed up with fish after about another 15 minutes while my plate got cold as I wasn't going to eat without her. Finally salad showed up with a beautiful piece of fish. She took one bite and said "Oh my gosh!" She pointed to this large hair sticking straight up out of the bowl. I told her to leave it and went and found the manager, this was my second conversation with her. Told her I didn't know what was going on tonight but that there was now hair in the salad. She came to the table and we went over all that had gone wrong that night. Super apologetic and offered to re-make both meals. Salad came back but fish was a tiny little piece and my burger still had no bacon. They tried to make it right but moment was ruined. It wasn't even busy so not sure what happened. Normally has been good but this was not good....
Love the Sunday “All Day Happy Hour” in the Bar! Nothing better than Henry’s and a game! The Bloody Mary’s are the bomb!
Bad food, cold, all 8 meals came out at different times! Raw donut holes, never refilled our drinks- just all around bad everything!!
Great for larger groups. Celebrated a friend's 60th birthday with a party of 8. We sat comfortably in a large booth. All seven meals were excellent, seven because the waitress missed one order. However, portions are large so it worked out fine. Really good option in advance of a Portland Center Stage performance at the Armory.
Our service was excellent.
We were going to a play at the Armory after our dinner and our server made sure that we qere served and finished in plenty of time.
Wonderful experience. Thank you staff at Henry's and manager Derek Nelson.
Thank you for the wonderful dinner and lovely experience on Friday night. I personally want to thank the entire staff for giving all teachers a night out.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Their specialty - the burgers was excellent. Good service, good team work.
Thank you -
Great service from Tawna. She was very accommodating to our requests, and the food was great.
My family was in town and we wanted to take them somewhere we knew the food wouldn’t disappoint.... Henry’s is the BEST!
Terrible service. We were a forgotten table. No one ever came to inquire if everything was alright with our meal once it was served or to see if we needed more beverages. We sat with dirty dinner plates for approx. 20 minutes. We had intended to order dessert and coffee as it was a birthday celebration but finally flagged down a bus boy to ask for a manager. When she came to the table she was unapologetic and literally said “tell me your side of the story” as if it was us against the staff. We will never be back.
The only problem with our night was we did not get our R U I REWARDS POINTS!
